Is forced penance getting changed?
In the new spotlight trailer says it applies the oblivious status effect instead of the broken status effect.
Its an OK change if it is not an error, you can hit a survivor and mindgame the moments later if they are not wary of their surroundings.

Nope, their pinned comment says it was a mistake and its still broken effect applied

If it's 60 seconds of Oblivious that might be okayish. If it's 30 seconds that's terrible. We'll have to see I suppose.

That's quite disappointing.

Mmm it may actually have been useful with oblivious. Sounds like a mistake that should become reality.

Tbh I actually would've been okay with both affects being applied, maybe for a shorter duration though
I mean it's not often that people take protection hits, like 90% of the time it's very endgame trying to get to exit gate so what's the point in applying broken if you're just about to end the game. It could've been a nice counter to bt protection hits

That would've been something as well.
The thing is if a perk is highly situational like this one is, it needs to be an extremely strong effect to warrant how situational it is. "Most" the situational perks we have, including this one, are not strong enough to warrant how rarely they will be activating.
Most the devs will brush this off as well they aren't all suppose to be strong, they're just "fun". I feel like this is a cop-out as these are not mutually exclusive. We can have strong and fun perks at the same time.
They also like to misconstrue when we say "strong", as us wanting new meta perks. We don't want new meta perks, just strong "enough" to be worth considering running.

Btw, it seems like this spotlight trailer is made before the PTB... because everything is the same

Completly agree with everything here. Take autodidact for example. It's effect when triggered can be so good but it is just so eccessively difficult to activate if when you're trying that you have to make an entire build around it almost (spine chill, empathy, etc) or it's not worth a slot.
Poised is another one to mention as well (I'm only focusing on survivor perks because I'm not super familira with all the killer ones).

Ok but like can we make the old perks more fun too? Bad enough Ash got screwed for not being killer and for not havin any film skins, but his perks, man... His #########' perks... :'(

Autodidact is amazing ngl fun it in every build without putting perks around it.

It is so good when it works but in most matches you either don't get enough heals or the skill checks are so few and far between that it doesn't get a chance. It could be given such a big boost by making just the small difference of increasing the chance of triggering a skillcheck by using it

Mettle is easily his worst though. It barely rewards you for what it takes to get it off, and then on top of that it even punishes you for doing so. Compare it to ######### like inner strength, DS, or instaheals. All super easy ways to get a free health state with next to no support or effort.
Then look at Mettle of Man. You have to run a whole-ash supporting build and play entirely around trying to get it to proc, let alone getting use out of it. Sure, protection hits are easier to get nowadays, but that doesn't make them easy to get. You have to do nothing but bodyguard for at the very least half of the match just for a single health state to not be lost. And then, after that, the killer sees your aura 24/7. On top of even that, they'll probably think you have object, which might get you a nice ticket to the facecamp theater. Doesn't help that it's an obsession perk, either.
And that was supposed to be his good perk! Flip flop somehow ended up being his best and even that is super situational. It's a great anti slug, and it almost makes up for how lame boil over is, but even then I think it could get a slight buff.
Buckle up is sort of fun. I think it should get buffed to act as a sort of breakout for downed teammates, or something else to make it more dynamic. The aura reading is sort of hard to gauge sometimes, so I feel like a recovery bar below the name of a downed survivor on the HUD might not be a bad idea.
I won't be so mad about this if we get Army of Darkness Ash as a legendary skin or just a regular set of cosmetics.
I would probably forgive it if we got AoD Ash with new voicelines.
And I would forget it completely if we got an Evil Dead map or killer at long last.

40 seconds or 60 seconds with a 20 seconds CD would be nice.

Why even add a cooldown? It's quite situational and the situation isn't even in your control, it's completely up to the survivors if your perk activates.

It happens quite often in unhook/hook trade cenarios, so 40 seconds oblivious without a CD is not to underestimate.

It happens a lot against bad survivors. I don't balance perks around assuming the players will play poorly. That philosophy is how we ended up with all the second chance meta perks that are currently being abused. They were tuned for bad players, so now the good players make them way stronger than they were supposed to be.

So people don't use BT? It happens against all kinds of survivors, with some killers you can even decide to patrol a hook or setup around it.

Using BT does not = making poor saves always. Especially once they know you have a perk specifically for that.
"with some killers you can even decide to patrol a hook or setup around it."
A perk to encourage camping isn't good design.
