Probably trapper so they bring small game and maps (assuming you don't play a trap killer/use a totem perk). Additional Points if they go for maximum abuse with slippery meat.

This can literally be done with notepad. BHVR needs to fix this, really.

Using a 3rd party program to get an advantage the player shouldn't have counts as cheating(Temp ban) at best and hacking(Perma ban) at worse.

You can do alot more things than just find out what killer it is, if you are techny sawy. You could litterally have every action that happens in the trial displayed to you in real time, if you have got the coding skills. And its not even technically cheating (and even if it was, it would be hard to detect), as you are merely monitoring your own network traffic.

The issue is, it's literally impossible to detect and ban for unless there is video of someone doing it.
People can use notepad to figure out who the killer in the lobby is. Are we going to ban for having notepad running? Good luck with that.
Most people use a little java applet to read the killer info for them (according to a couple people in the discord, anyway). You know what program runs when you run a java .jar applet? javaw.exe. Good luck banning for javaw.exe.
Nah, this is something BHVR has to own up to and fix; and no, encryption is not an answer. People WILL find a way to decrypt it. They need to reach deep down into their brains (the same ones who thought it was infinitely wise to store a killers identity in plain text in the first place) and come up with a better solution.

It is technically cheating you are using something to gain information you otherwise wouldn't have you can't really debate that it is cheating. At the same time behavior could also easily fix it by just removing the server feeding information before game it's not very hard to do they just have more priorities at the moment.

It's kind of a gray area. On one hand, you have a point, but on the other hand, it would be a perfectly valid argument to say that BHVR is presenting us with this information in literal plain text, and therefore it can't be considered cheating. They would never LEGALLY get away with saying "We're going to store this text file on your PC, but you're not allowed to read it". That's a battle BHVR would lose. Hard.

I mean they are giving your computer the information yes but without the program you wouldn't otherwise have it by definition its cheating.

You can literally use notepad. Notepad is not a third party program. It's literally built into windows. Again, you can't make the argument that reading a text file on our PC is considered cheating. ALL the owness in this situation is on BHVR. Not the players.

Dedicated servers actually made it worse the server feeds so much information to your computer basically behavior needs to fix how much information its giving out.

It does not matter what you can use to do it is the information given to you within the game? If not then im sorry to burst your bubble by definition its cheating there's no way around it you are allowed to believe it's not but it almost 100% is not saying people should be banned for it personally i could care less I know how to play around it but we can sit here and jump around all day at the end of the day by behaviors definition it gives them an advantage they otherwise wouldn't have without using 3rd party programs its cheating by that definition it is completely cheating notepad or not you are still using information to gain an advantage you otherwise wouldn't have.

No. Is it morally wrong? Yes. Does it suck the fun out of survivor? Yes; but when the developer takes this vital piece of information, and stores it on your PC in plain text, it is not cheating to look at it. You can not turn around and call it cheating. Of course, you, in your opinion, can consider it cheating, but that doesn't mean it is. It's on the thin line between cheating and not cheating for sure, but given the nature of the issue, and that you can literally just use your OS to inspect the file, it can't fully be defined as cheating. It's an oversight from the devs.
It's not the players giving themselves the advantage. It's BHVR giving the players the advantage due to their typical nature of overlooking things.
Regardless - it lands very securely in a gray area that exists between cheating and not cheating.

LOL if that's the case, that explains why I see more Object of Obsession when I play Freddy and more Spine Chill when I play Pig XD. Maybe I should use this strategy too. Switch from Ghost Face/Wraith to Freddy, so I don't get Objects.

Again is it intended for you to be able to see the information which we can both agree its 100% not like i said by behaviors definition again it falls under cheating while i get what you are saying again you can't really defend the intended use of it you think people use it to not gain the advantage because we both know why people use it which is for that advantage.
Again im not saying people should be banned for it but you can't be serious if you are going to try to defend it by saying its not cheating just because the server gives you the information lets get real dude at the end of the day it will get fixed no one will probably get banned because why would they the server is at fault but the intended use is to gain an advantage so again by definition its cheating my dude you can even go and read the rules for yourself It's just like people who hacked bloodpoints in was it something you could do yes was it cheating? 100% did it give you an advantage you otherwise wouldnt have yes the difference is behavior can actually detect it while they cant detect who's abusing the information by the server to the computer again we can go back and fourth all day We are only going to continue to come right back to the start by definition from the Dead by Daylight team owned by behavior digital inc people gaining an advantage they otherwise wouldn't have is cheating.

I wouldn't get very cocky the information they are given is a lot they also can have more then enough time to pick perks maps etc based off the information they are given also keep in mind pc players have played longer and most likely can hug loops tighter then most console players. Point being against the top 1% that program almost always will screw you over.

That makes no sense. That's like saying using Cheat Engine or some kiddy script to gain an advantage in game isn't cheating because you're using the information the game has stored locally on your PC. It is cheating, and it is not natural. You as the individual player are not supposed to utilize, modify, or tamper with information that goes against the spirit and rules of what's happening in game. If you break the rules, you're a cheater. Plain and simple. Even if BHVR may have mistakenly given players the opportunity to use that information, that doesn't give you the right as a player to abuse it. That would be similar to blaming BHVR for having an unsecure server when you delved into their system and took that information (if it wasn't stored locally). Then turning around and saying, ' Well it's your fault for overlooking your security'.
If you saw some old lady walking by your house and accidentally dropping wad of cash because it's her "typical nature" to be clumsy and forget and to check her pockets before leaving an area, would you just take it because it's free money sitting on your property or notify her?

Ever since I first read about this I started switching right before the game starts. So far every time I stay as Dr trying to get even one person to waste a slot on calm spirit... I may start doing some actual “opposite switches,” like faking plague to prevent healing perks and medkits If I plan to use sloppy and nurses calling

I think you completely misunderstood what exactly that applied to go read what that was actually in response to what you are saying has nothing to do with what my point was. Also you can't even remotely make the comparison to a 3rd party cheat which gives you information you should not have to a wiki or youtube that makes literally no sense what so ever im not sure the point you were trying to make but either way i dont think it was even close to the mark with all do respect.

Ah yes, those situations aren’t even close. But they are you see Devs have literally stated they do not want players to have the exact numbers.
But you keep going on thinking YOU somehow determine what is and isn’t cheating. I don’t condone it but to say it is factually cheating is wrong

It almost, ALMOST makes me wish the survivors just saw the killer and could prep... then you would know they were all stacking their perks and BANG last minute swap. But then all killers would do it so survuvors would know they did it so you don’t do it lol

They aren't you are basically trying to compare a program that gives the survivors information like What killer,Addons,Steam Username,Ability to favorite or block a killer like dude what comparison are you making what you just said is not even apart of the discussion also if you believe the program is not cheating i would highly advise reading the rules of the game and then using your brain to determine what behavior means by "anything that gives an advantage your otherwise wouldn't have" and come back when you have educated yourself on the rules because i think anyone with a fraction of understanding can read that and put two and two together. Kinda seems like you use the program and don't like that its being called out.
