First time playing
First time I ever played I bought the game cause I saw Claud in the trailer and thoight she was the coolest looking character ever made (I dont understand people thinking shes ugly) I bought her the beautiful gypsy outfit before I even tried playing the game. Lol
Killer straight up chased me the whole game I didnt even get to do a gen! My whole team kept swarming around me to block the killer and get me aside to heal...then off to the races again the whole match. I almost didnt play again cause I dont like that much interaction with the killer. Also I didnt catch on that bright outfits draw attention and didnt change from gypsy right away.
Also it literally took me months!! To realise there was a audio clue before a skill check! Id miss the skill checks all the time...but one day I was like.."Wait a minute....theres an audio clue!!"
Its so embarrassing how dumb I can get. โบ

My first game i thought:
The speed boost when you get injured was because of the perk adrenaline
Killers couldnt hear you
Killers were in third person like survivors
Killers couldnt hit you if your mid vault animation

When I first started, I thought shack was a dangerous place to be as a survivor. I just felt like it would be easy to get trapped there or something. ๐

First game ever was as old Freddy. Rank 20 and couldn't figure out how to hit anybody.

First game ever for me was Wraith against midranks. Was an absolute humbling experience, I could barely hit any of them. IIRC at the time too you didn't get a perk slot until level 5 so it was perkless, add on-less Wraith verse full builds. It's a miracle I didn't stop playing killer right then and there...

You'll soon come to love being chased all game, as it's literally the only fun thing survivors can do . I've taken to going out of my way to get chased sometimes. Even if it's a spirit or Deathslinger I'd rather be running around than holding M1 on gens all day, even if it's only for a total of 15 seconds against those two killers.

My first couple of hours in this game was lots of screaming and being afraid, lol. It's an absolute riot to start this game with someone. The thing that took me longest to figure out was the longer you spend afraid, the less you get done. Still, there was a lot of fun in the fear.
I also use to pair exhaustion perks together until I was taught what exhaustion was. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ Lithe and Head On together can really wig a killer out though!

I thought these things:
- Exposed meant the Killer could see me
- Falling from a high enough height made a loud noise notification
- Gens were always in the same place, so other players found them easily because they had memorized those locations
- Kicking a gen instantly reduced its progress somewhat
Etc. Welcome to the game, and we hope you have fun.

I remember how much fun it was when i got my first hook, slapping the survivor while they were on there. Then the messages cane. I told them what i thought of them and got my messages suspended.

I don't think i had any issues when i first played because i bought it day 1 on ps4 after watching let's play of it. I didn't have those moments but i got to watch other people have them.

I remember when I tried to teach my mom how to play DBD when it first came out.It was her first and last she just stood there as the killer was charging towards her and asked me what do I do๐.I told her youโre supposed to run๐.

First time playing killer
"Damn these guys are good. Wait why is he running so fast for some reason? Why did he just do a lunge and dodge me?? Why can't I hurt this guy, but he started glowing white?"
Turns out I had a red rank, 2 purples, and a green rank in my FIRST GAME. Thankfully I figured it was some bug in matchmaking and decided to keep playing since I had fun anyways.

My first game. I still remember to this day
"What the hell is this bear trap doing here?!"
Seconds later, stepped on it because I thought it was scene dressing "SON OF A #########!"

I tried getting my ex to play. Shes not a gamer of any sort. Same thing, she FREAKED when the killer came at her, tried running but she had her camera pointed straight up and was running in walls and stuff ๐ she finally threw the controller down while on hook and said "im done" ๐

My first match was against Wraith, I was so scared and it was in the corn fields so I was like what? this is scary because you can get hit and down whenever the killer decides to appear

Every player I have ever introduced to the game assumed that "Exposed" means "Killer can see my position" until it was explained to them, because that is the intuitive conclusion based on the word's most well-understood definition (being exposed in a visual sense).
This suggests a very solvable problem with the choice of wording. I dunno why, after all this time, it hasn't been changed to something like "Vulnerable." This is one of those thousand-cuts new player experience things that drives me nuts.

I have to play the game with headphones because the sounds are too scary for my gf, she only saw a glimpse of the game and it was when a hillbilly started charging at me with his chainsaw LOL
2 -
Classic, lol. On the bright side, I bet you freaked out the survivors plenty.

As survivor, we hid behind a tree against a Wraith and when he found us, we both screamed while running completely straight, looking up and swerving like crackheads. That was fun lol. Only took a few months before I learnt was looping was then I became toxic so I could improve. I also stopped playing killer after I learnt what looping was and started to face people who looped me.
As killer, I was Doc (old) and didn't know how to lunge, I also thought continuously spamming his shock therapy would cause survivors to reveal themselves, so I had no clue how to play him but used to get a LOT of 4k's.

My friend gave me a free code for this game because he didn't realize he already had it, and I was quite shocked at the gameplay when I first tried it (I went in blind). I had no idea how pallets and windows worked, and no idea how the health states worked, so when I went into a KYF to test things with some friends and my killer friend picked me up and slammed me on a meat hook, it was quite the surprise. Now it seems so normal, but it's funny thinking about what it was like for me back then.

First game ever I thought pallets were useless against all killers because of how nurse treated me at them.

My first game as killer was as Myers. Couldn't figure out what stalk did. Had no idea how to find survivors. Saw scratch marks and kept wondering what they were. I think I managed to land 2 hits that game.
First game as survivor I couldn't find any gens. I did find and break a totem. Though I had no idea why it mattered. I also kept getting one hooked because I thought you were supposed to try to escape the hook.

I thought that's what exposed meant too. Lol.

I thought Blindness meant the same thing to survivors as it does when a killer is blinded. Didn't get how they managed to dodge hatchets so well when they couldn't see anything.

Are you still new?
Then run while you have the chance.
