Nice game dbd team, love getting punished for literally nothing
So I just got a dc penalty, you wanna know why I dc’d? Because when the endgame timer stopped, it forced me to stay in the game. So while all the survivors are playing other matches, I’m in the same map wondering what the hell happened for the game tell me “no, you can’t leave oni, ######### you lmao”. So now I have to sit and wait for the penalty to end, try to pip back up to rank 1, and get another game where 3 people brought party streamers because I lost all my bp from that. So dbd, before you start punishing people for leaving, make sure they aren’t forced to leave, or in short. Fix your #########

I get kicked out of the game at least 3 times a day, and everytime I get the penalties.
It's #########. They can't even make so the system detects weather I actually quit or not. What a joke.

This is why the penallty only starts at 5 minutes
Better to once have to wait 5 minutes for a bug that occurs once every 100 or so of games instead of everygame being ruined by DCers

They can make penalty based on how many times you click on "Leave match". But they can not make penalty based on how many times you pull out the cable.
So yes. If you have an answer for the script that counting the times of pulling out the cable, go enlight the Devs

Ita not a perfect system by any means, so I keep hoping that they will acknowledge it’s problems because I’ve been in that situation before where the game crashes my system with an error message.. nothing to do with my net. I have pretty good internet, but the game is not perfect.

Have you tried filing a bug report?
3 -
I got bugged on hook multiple times one day from onis hooking me, and it sucked for the 15 minute dc penalty i just had to stop for a day
1 -
simping for a system that clearly is too buggy to be justified
also DCers just suicide now lmao
0 -
"Simping" lmao
So you suggest freely allowing people to DC whenever they like?
3 -
I 100% think people should be free to DC whenever they want for whatever reason.
1 -
It used to be that way but survivors abused it so much the penalty had to be added in.
It had reached the point that there was at least one leaver nearly ever single game before its implementation was announced.
2 -
It's only five minutes, deal with it.
2 -
Better then being a drama queen who feels the need to cry on a forum cause they had to wait 5 minutes
Ever since the system was implented the number of rage quiters, hook suicides included drasticly decreased for me
And that easilly frustrated people stop playing the game is only an added bonus. Those are the ones who end up toxic anyway
880 hours so far and i've never had a gamebreaking bug. Plenty of bugs but never so severe that i had to quit the game over it. I know i'm probably very lucky. But people are grossly overstating how much this game bugs out
3 -
That tells me all I need to know about what kinda person you are.
I personally think that's just selfish, but change my mind if you'd like. Probably can't, but I'll entertain the possibility.

Just read the multitude of posts I have made about this in the past.

Well, if DC was getting out of control, maybe the devs should have tried to address why the game had gotten so bad every match people would rather take zero points and waste their time than stay and play. They are punishing the wrong people.

No thanks.

Without the DC penalty people would just quit out of games vs killers they didn't like/ didn't want to learn.
You can see the ramification of the old punishment-less DC system as very few people know how to play against legion as if you played him like I did(I get a lot of legion dailies for some reason) at the time there was a near guarantee of one or DCers ever game even before the first hook.
TLDR: Survivor's abused the old system to not play against killers they don't like even if said killer is under powered(Which legion was at the time).

I'm up to an hour ban now and I hear it can go up to at least 48 hours. This is not okay. I don't care if people decide to purposefully DC or not, the time increase in matchmaking locked needs rework badly. I have been playing a lot recently (new to the game) and DC once for maybe every 10 games. The game doesn't care about the 9 games I played just fine, whole way through. The game only cares about the 1-2 games a day I lose connection or rage quit. So far I haven't seen the time go down either. It's always an increase.... 1 minute... 5 minutes... 20... an hour... when does it ever reset?
I'm not saying DC should go completely unpunished but anything over an hour is way too much. Especially since I payed to play this game, and that's what I intend to do.

I love when I hit m1 and my m1 doesn't work so I miss my swing.
What happened to you is rare and I'm sure you can afford/deal with a 5 minute penalty. It happened doesn't justify your baby rage but this game is riddled with countless unfixed bugs so you'd do well to become numb to it.

A casual game like this that has way to many bugs shouldn't have a DC penalty. Period.
1 -
its a casual L4D style party game, so i odnt care if people DC
there are countless videos showing people getting stuck in-game indefinitely, unable to heal, being held hostage etc where the only option is to DC, saying "well the timer starts low" is laughable
1 -
There were about 39,600 players playing on steam a couple of minutes back
That's 7,920 matches give or take. At one point in time not including the consoles. You may say "countless" videos. But even if you showed me 100 of them it would still be a laughable number
1 -
Well then you should stick to single player games. Where you can't ruin others playing experience
Playing with other people online has some rules. Rules that you signed when you purchased the game btw

BHVR is just perfect.

Just because you don't mind it doesn't mean that other people want to deal with it. If you're playing a game on a console with your friend (Halo, CoD, Super Smash Bros, etc.) and you quit mid game because you get salty and shut off the console, do you think that friend is going to want to hang out with you anymore? I'd bet not.
Another question: don't you feel that being okay with DCing just because you're okay with it is inherently selfish? It disregards how other players in the game are affected, and a disconnect is done chiefly for one's own personal pleasure at the cost of others. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds pretty textbook selfish.

I wish everyone arguing to get rid of DC, got DC and suicide on-first-hook-teammates.

"If you're playing a game on a console with your friend (Halo, CoD, Super Smash Bros, etc.) and you quit mid game because you get salty and shut off the console, do you think that friend is going to want to hang out with you anymore? I'd bet not."
yes, because its a videogame and my friends are not 5 yr olds
"don't you feel that being okay with DCing just because you're okay with it is inherently selfish?"
no, because its a party game
stop being so dramatic, its a game lmfao

You don't need to explain this to me I have played for 3 years and am well aware of how things were pre-DC penalty. I do not think people should be forced into playing matches they do not want to be in. I have been in probably hundreds of matches where someone DCd for any number of reasons, and I do not care. They are not ruining my game. Sometimes I agreed with there decision, sometimes I had no idea why they left. At then end of the day players who paid to play this game should not be trapped in unfun matches they don't want to be in, making people suicide just wastes everyone's time. DC was a faster, cleaner way to just leave and move on to the next match if that is what you want to do.

As I have stated many times, I have been in a boat load of matches where people DCd, and it DID NOT RUIN my game. I think this is a weak excuse for forcing people to play matches they do not want to be in. This is a game and if players should be free to decide for themselves if they are enjoying it and if they want to participate. I have zero issue with someone DCing out of a match I am in, including the killer. Someone wants to go, feel free, I will either keep playing or move on to the next match. It is not a big deal at all to me, or problematic to my day.
