Anyone else losing interest?
It may sound like a stupid question but I've been trying to play DBD with one of my friends and he sounds just, so tired of it.
It's not that he dislikes the game but he says that for the most part if he plays survivor it's "hold M1 and chase, run to the window, round that corner, pallet stun, over the window, round the corner, etc."
When he plays killer he feels like it's just not rewarding, he can get 4ks easily enough but recently he's been getting 3ks with the last person always getting away, or at least most of the time. Maybe he's doing bad since he isn't feeling it.
He feels like at this point Immersive Claudette will be the only fun way to solve the issue. He'll have to M1 still but now he can "stealth around and avoid the killer, just absolutely make them mad." It's not really the making them mad he wants, just the stealthing. We all know though that killers do NOT like Immersive Claudette.
He'd play things like Burger King Myers and Jump Scare Myers. Those kind of meme builds and stuff for funsies but "at that rank (1) everyone knows how to deal with that." The game isn't scary or even jump-scary.
It stopped being fun for him because I guess the game lacks charm now. Content is good, game is alright but it boils down to it not being scary like it was when you first start out, now it's just any old 1v4 game for him. He seems to feel like the controls are just way too simple and the game is neither rewarding nor challenging.
Main point is: Survivor and Killer bore him, half the time anymore he only gets on, does a daily and hops out again.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to possibly improve his mood or is the game really losing it's charm? Does the game need some update that reimagines the game to really make it a scary challenge instead of a repetitive M1 game or is it just him?

no, people who loved the game got bored and angry playing it, I wouldn't be so cruel to force a friend of mine playing DbD if he doesn't want to.

I am getting bored with it. Yes.

Yeah, my savings account isn't really the best.

I have definitely been playing less. The game just feels predetermined most of the time. If you have a decent map and gen spread, you have a chance, and if not, a competent group will win. It also doesn't help that this game is balanced around scrubs who don't know how to play, which means that knowledgeable players are at a huge advantage.

I swap around enough for it to stay fresh for awhile. By this I mean I swap between several killers, lol. Last few days Ive gone back and started working on some of the survivor challenges that I've skipped and having a blast with that. Typically I play killer like 95% of the time...so getting in survivor games is thrilling for me, lol. If it DOES get to be too much though, can try swapping to a different game for abit. I took a 3 month break from DBD and played some Warframe on my switch. My rankings on both sides had dropped to like 17 before I came back, lol

Your friend sounds like he's really burnt out on this game.I would suggest taking a break from this game for some time, honestly.

I come back in and out for every new chapter. Buy it and fiddle around with it then eventually go back to what I was doing. I've been kinda lax on Tome 3 because I main Dwight but the lore they gave him didn't fit my perception of Dwight so I'm kinda ignoring the Tome entirely lol.
I'm going to check out Pyramid Head when he comes out though. Looks neato mosquito.

No game can last forever, sometimes a break helps sometimes it doesn’t. I used tonplay 90/10 killer/survivor ration and burnt out so I played like almost all survivor. Now im about 50/50, I don’t care if I win, but still usually do, it’s fun but still not the same as it was at first

Not really.
I try to mix it up because after over 3k hours I know one is bound to get burnt out. So I definitely still enjoy it but like to mix in other games as well.

I also stopped playing daily since middle of May. Sometimes I play... 2 matches of Survivor and I already get annoyed and bored.

Yes
I noticed the only thing bringing me back is the challenges and new chapters
after a while I get bored and don't touch it for a long time
also with the ever increasing hd graphics my computer is starting to struggle running the game which also is bad

I’ve been getting bored of the game since ghostface came out. There were no new events, archives we basically glorified dailies and I only ever had fun messing around. They need to change the meta, spice things up, add a new gamemode or objective just something to make the game spicier.

Meta perks on both sides are slowly choking the life from the game.

I have a couple of games in the morning before I go to work. Finishing off those challenges.

This. If you do the same thing long enough, it'll get boring. It doesn't matter what it is.
It may also be worth talking to your friend about what they enjoyed about DbD in the first place; maybe help them reawaken that initial interest they had or help them find something else they'd enjoy.

This is a serious sign that indicates DBD is NOT innovating at all
We need DBD to risk something with new game modes, items, champs, rewards, in game objectives.... but they simply won't risk a daRn

i am not bored it is one of my faviroutes and some of my freinds faviroutes

I'm still getting hyped all the time (especially for the upcoming graphics update and early game change) and every new chapter even after 4000 hours.
I think the graphics update will greatly contribute to the horror theme of the game and MAYBE the upcoming early game change will force survivors to play more immersed at the start of the match which could POSSIBLY make the game a little more scary as well. We never know. Just gotta wait and see.

If they're not having a good time, it's time to shake things up.
Whether that be a change in how they play, or a different game.

Roleplaying as a Blendette and genuinely being horrified of the killer is actually surprisingly fun. Gets your blood pumping.
But then I remember that there are other people on my team that I'm actively screwing over by just existing if I play like that.

In every multiplayer game I play for long periods of time, burn out is a problem. Of all the solutions I've seen, taking a break tends to be the one to work best. If you like a game enough, you'll eventually miss it and it'll be fun again. I've tried personally forcing myself to play things, but that just exasperates it.

I've been getting burnt out of dbd a lot lately, however I always try and build up the motivation to play every now and then. The motivation comes back when I'm playing with a friend, a new tome releases, a chapter release or any PTB's.

I can play survivor with friends once in a while and have a fun time chilling. But killer...
I get a headache after a few matches because of the garbage FOV. Combine it with how bad this game looks what with all the fog and muddy textures and it becomes unplayable, especially after playing other games like Doom Eternal and CoD, games that have good FOV options and graphics that weren't an eyesore.
So it's that, and the fact that every killer I enjoy right now have really bad bugs (Oni and Billy are the worst ones right now). Everytime I try to play them it's just...awful. and then I have to pray that, once those killers have been fixed in the next update, none of the other killers or mechanics become unusable, or pray that they don't bug the current ones even more. I'm sick of this endless cycle of "Patch, bugs, patch, bugs"

This right here is what makes people stop playing DBD. Stop playing for a few months and your rank is reset all the way back to 20 despite the fact that you are clearly not a level 20 killer / survivor. The matches become incredibly easy and boring for you, and incredibly difficult for the newer players.

This happened to me with CSGO. 4 years nonstop playing and rank meant everything. Got burnout, didn't play for a year, started playing again and it is fun again. Also stopping caring about rank took a lot of stress off.

I completely agree that prioritizing fun over rank is the best way to tackle a PvP game, but that's of course assuming the matches are fairly balanced. With DBD you could easily have an experienced rank 1 killer or survivor get reset all the way back to 20 should they not play for awhile, thus putting them into games with less experienced players. It's why this game is a nightmare for newer players.

Man, rank can be so frustrating. I was determined to get to rank 1 at least once before they change things over to the new MMR, and now that I have? I'm glad I don't have to care anymore, lol. I'm just an achievement hunter. I do wonder what they'll do with those achievements after the change, since I haven't even gotten to rank 10 on killer. 😆
But yeah fun is everything in a game. If you're not having it, what's the point?

For me it wasn't healthy option to grind for highest faceit rank. It might work as motivation booster to many but for me it meant burnout. Some people live for grinding the shiniest ranks/titles/achievements, some play for fun. I try more to play for fun and ranks are pretty much meaningless but that does not mean I'm not competitive spirit and sometimes try my hardest to win.
Yeah I've been having a rought time as a new player. I mostly play killer and matchmaking really does love to put me against people that are in another dimension in terms of skill and knowledge.

I also have hunted achievements in WoW back in the day. It was a fun to because the game was pretty much just preparing for weekly raids with guild and doing dailies.

MMO achievements are so much fun. I use to do them for Wakfu (turn based MMO) with some friends. We were able to beat out a couple of groups for best in a couple of dungeons on the server. They weren't the Steam/PS4 kind though, just recorded in game.
DBD's achievements are mostly RNG happenings (like getting lucky with a basement party) or things you'd get playing normally. The only hard ones seem to be adept killers. I figure I'll go for them some day if I've done everything else, but that's a ways off.

I'm in the same boat. I've only been playing this game for a few months and although I've managed to get to rank 11 with killer, the game puts me against purple and red rank survivors ALL THE TIME. Sometimes I can hold my own but most of the time I don't. I do just well enough to not depip, but this matchmaking system ensures that I have a harder time than anything.
