Was the change to pyramid heads chase theme an improvement to you?
I have seen a bit of division on this issue, some say the new added effect take out the Silent Hill vibe and for others it seem like an improvement, what is your opinion on the changes to PHs theme?

I think it’s an improvement on the Survivor side, as the new chase music sounds more deranged and thus gives a better feeling of horror. When playing as Pyramid Head, though, I feel it to be a downgrade, as the Killer isn’t the one meant to experience any fear. The more action-ish sound of the PTB fit the Killer’s POV better.
I think they should have done what they did with Oni and keep the PTB music exclusive to the Killer’s POV but have the new music play for Survivors. I will say I’m sad to see the PTB theme for Pyramid Head go as I thought it was very good.

I don't mean to sound apathetic (which the poll option "I don't care" makes it sound that way) but they do sound nearly the same.
It doesn't sound any better or any worse, the main melody / tone of the music is still about the same. If anything it feels like a horizontal change for the music, not a significant difference in quality in either direction, just different. Which is fine by me to be honest.

No, as a music producer, the new theme is a little more irritating. It's too busy, there's so much going on, hardly any dynamic in volume. It gets loud and stays loud. I liked the bells in the old one, made it sound more deranged and terrifying.

no, the new one feels like too loud and somewhat average in a way, specifically speaking in the chase part (in my opinion). i would be happy if they keeped the ptb version for killer´s pov, it´s seems they did a similar thing to oni, (they made a new chase music, but keeping the ptb chase music for killer´s pov) (i care mostly for the chase part. the tier 1 to tier 3 radius music i think it´s good on both versions)

I'm really a music guy when it comes to soundtracks.
Silent hill is my favourite franchise ever (that's why I bought dbd lol) and they did not capture the vibe of silent hill with it in my opinion.

I don't really think either are a great fit.
The PTB one sounds too light, I feel like a heavy theme fits him more.
But then we get a heavy one, and now i feel like it sounds too generic, like i could find a track similar to it in other games.
Idk, might just be me being picky, but i just don't feel it's very special.

If they kept what we have on live but added the discordant high notes back to the chase theme I think it'd be the best version of the three. As is the total lack of high end is weird.

The PTB was amazing, now it is still okay I guess. But I really loved the sound of the tinking if that is what it is? The hammering or bell ringing really added to the atmosphere and gave a sense of impending doom.

Huh, why'd this months old post pop up for me? Either way, while I'm here. I personally prefer the live version's chase music. It's more intense and it makes me really feel like I'm the final boss in a dark souls game or something, lol. It may not be very silent hill like, I wouldn't know as I'm too much of a wimp to play an actual horror game, but I really like the chase music. I do like the ptb one too though.
Perhaps as a compromise the Devs could add an option to choose if you want to have the ptb or live version? I certainly wouldn't mind the variety. Though I like the chase music a lot, hearing the same song on repeat for hours and hours can get a bit repetitive to be honest (I'm a bit of a Pyramid head main myself, lol).

I quite honestly think the new version is a complete downgrade, it sounds much more generic while the PTB version gave off a feeling of almost creepiness which fits Pyramidhead a lot more imo.

The old theme gave me chills, the new one is kind of a headache. I understand why they went in the direction they did, but being more metal just for the sake of Pyramid Head did not make for a better TR theme.

PH's music is my favorite in the game. Closely followed by Demo and Doc. That being said, I think about this music a lot. While I LOOVVEE the emphasis on the bell-sounds for the horror aspect, it doesn't feel like it carries over into the up-beat feeling of normal chase music. I LOVE the new addition to make the chase feel more intense and nerve-wracking. I think that keeping a bit more emphasis on the bells while holding onto the new intensity of the chase would be the perfect balance.
