I've used Soul Guard all day and here are the results..
After roughly 50-60 matches I have made use of the perk ZERO times.
Cool concept. Waaayyy too situational. I guess it's better than Buckle Up or Flip Flop, though.

Also Repressed Alliance is better, don't @ me

I feel the same way about the gen blocking one. only had one instance all day where i was able to use it on a gen that was 90% done right as the killer got to it
11 -
I've been able to use it about 3 times so it's at least better than 0 lol
2 -
lol its true. And some people are saying its an overpowred perk... All cheryl perks are bad sadly, soul guard its the only a bit useful but for the endurance not for the recover. Repressed alliance is a joke and blood pact "why"? I hope the devs buff her perks. The survivor meta needs to be changed. More variety=more fun

I got value out of it in one match! (out of like twenty) There was a deathslinger with a ruin that did not get cleansed the whole match, I powered the last gen and he downed me to chase the other survivor working on a gen, so I got up, opened the exit gates and left, it was great :D
Its one of those situational perks that you won't get much value out of, but when it works, it works
7 -
It hasn't come in handy in any matches of mine either. It would be clutch in those situations where the killer is bearing down on you just as someone is getting you up - or if killer decides to go slugging with noed up, but how often does that happen.
Slot is better used for something else that will help keep you off the ground in the first place and be useful most matches.

I had a guy with NM/Tenacity/UB/SG use it against me. But no one had DS and I only slugged him because I don't wanna be the guy that tunnels the NM guy. I'm an exception, not the rule, most killers would have just hooked him again with no obsession in play. If someone had DS he would have probably got it legit, but his friend also lead me back to him so that he could get up next to me and make me hit him. I still got the 4k BTW.
2 -
It definitely could be OP if Ruin hadn't gotten changed. Think about it, you saw Ruin in what, 80% of matches? That perk would've been monstrous back then, unfortunately, it is super situational now.
4 -
What do you mean? Are you thinking of the Deathslinger perk Hex Retribution?
0 -
I'm liking Repressed Alliance - it is far more likely for a killer to interrupt me at a gen almost done where I can just lock it down so he cannot pop it, over waiting to get slugged with a curse ongoing.
2 -
I was more referring to the whole, picking yourself up out of the dying state while there is a Hex active. With old Ruin, that could've been really good because you saw Ruin is 80% of games. Now, not too many people use Hex perks, so that affect is basically not gonna happen and you have to rely on your teammates or Unbreakable to proc the perk.

Honestly IDK why the devs keep using Endurance as an option for perks, we saw with MoM how game breaking it was, and the same thing happened on the PTR with Soul Guard too an extent. Endurance is just an unhealthy effect that shouldn't be a thing.
I hope MoM and Soul Guard are reworked entirely too be more useful, because Endurance makes these perks one of two thing: utter dog ######### or completely overpowered.
1 -
But MoM is good, people just dont know how to use it properly and prefer to remain nostalgic about what the perk once was
t. Ash Main
2 -
It would not. Ruin would still be cleansed. Besides that, I see quite a lot of Ruins lately.
Hahahaha. No. Only because you use the three magical letters, a bad Perk does not become good.
3 -
Yea i agree, not every perk has to be a second chance perk, they could improve or completely change this two and many more to something interesting, to counter X perk, etc.
I remember how broken MoM was, i bought the dlc when it was released and they probably didn't want to make the same mistake. But It looks like they are running out of ideas because when you see a perk like Repressed Alliance you know there is something wrong.
1 -
Maybe killers are now somewhat expecting this perk, especially if you play as Cheryl. So slugging while using a hex Perk will probably not happen regularly now. It could come into play later, when most people will play only their normal (Meta) Perk builds.
Also getting healed up from dying state with the killer nearby was always rare (but frustrating), that situation is not what people where calling OP about this perk, was it?
3 -
I’ve gotten some pretty good use out of it, even though matchmaking keeps putting me against low rank Killers who don’t slug.

Do you guys think that her perks should have some use now? You are extremly wrong if you think so. First off Soul Guard. Do you think now after not only a day from release, killers would just slug you without thinking you might have it? Of course not, wait until everything goes back to normal and the killers wouldn't expect you to have this perk anymore, then SG will show its power.
Repressed Alliance has the same problem. PH doesn't get the most benefit out of PGTW and RA was made especially to counter PGTW. Wait till everything goes back to normal, people will play other killers and most probably they'll run PGTW and I am very positive that Repressed Alliance will be a good perk against it.
Blood Pact, if it hasn't changed from the PTB, should still be a decent perk. Think about the haste you and the other survivor get for 8 seconds by only tapping that survivor. You could even use it in a chase to give that haste to the survivor who's being chased. Really underrated imo

I'm just in shock you put in that many matches today. I mean, my god. I put in three, maybe four a night before hanging it up. Just how strong are your kidneys?
1 -
OoO?
1 -
You played 50+ matches in one day?
1 -
I would not consider Object a bad Perk. Even as Solo it is still solid. Of course the more people play together, the more value will you get from OoO.
0 -
Well it's worked for survivors in 2 of my games and ive played about 5 games today. This is also me trying to not slug and never running a hex.
yaaaay another perk that punishes the killer for playing efficiently with no indication of it being in the match. How wonderful.
0 -
Imo it's a great perk especially against HEX: NOED. If the killer is really greedy then you get great use out of it. Besides that its a great counter against slugging.
I really like most of those new perls because you can work with them. Not like fixated that has dumb downs.
It's maybe not your sick meta perk but its really if its coming through. And I like that the devs are making more situational perks without being too weak or way too situational like autodidact.

It can be a op combo with unbreakable and DS. Killer wait for DS then you use unbreakable to get up, then soul guard can make you safe in 8 second. It is a good perk but not in the op tier.
0 -
Huge difference between swf OoO and solo OoO
Adding those 3 magical letters does actually matter
2 -
Yeah, but it does not make a bad Perk good. And Soul Guard is a bad Perk, Object not.
0 -
Eh, it's too situational. especially with the new perk Force Penance, you risk so much for something that may never even happen in the game. I'd much rather run DS or OoO for an obsession perk since I know I'll get use out of both of them in the match. MoM can be good, but if it's only good 1/10 matches then why bother.

Yes?
0 -
That just seems like a lot! And I would say it seems like a fun day, but I know if it were me I'd wind up super-frustrated at some point. 😄

Blood pact is 10 seconds haste now.
1 -
Yeah, I realised it later that they modified most of the perks a bit. 10 second is better than 8, but now you have to fully heal to get this effect. I feel like you could have gotten more plays if by just a tap you got haste, but still it's a decent perk, tho I find it the worst out of all her 3 perks.
0 -
For the record, you can get the haste when picking someone up from slugged too, which isn't legally considered fully healing them.
2 -
Oh it's not a usual thing lol. Just when I have a day off when new content comes out. It got frustrating at times but I try to go to my happy place when that happens 😀
0 -
Ive used both of the benefits several times. I love it. That 8 second endurance saved me from being killed at end game once against a tunneling Bubba that thought I had DS lol
0 -
It definitely would've been an incentive to leave Ruin up a little longer, especially if you could hit skill checks.
I personally haven't seen very many Ruins. Maybe 4 in the last 30ish games. Most people run PGTW and/or Corrupt.
0 -
I see Ruin in like 1/4 of my games. Currently a little bit more, but this could simply be because Pyramid Heads dont have that many Perks yet (or also because they dont use PGTW because of Cages).
But I only notice it for like two weeks that there are more Ruins than before.

How could you?! You monster!

I've used it twice to get up when hexed. Once with slugging Oni, once with slugging Legion. After first time they don't slug you again. Anytime I've been popped up the killer hasn't been around so haven't made use of it for endurance.
