Why “Sets” now?
I’m not mad or anything just curious why the devs decided to make the new outfits sets instead of pieces so we can mix and match? There wasn’t really a point to it besides maybe legion’s mascot outfit but why everything else.
Is this the route the devs are gonna taking now or is it just for Silent Hill? Hopefully not because a huge reason I play the game is for the customization :/

I'm guessing the licence holders want specific looks for there characters and don't them mixed and matched.

because konami said so

I'm a bit disappointed that I can't switch out a new weapon when I play as Robbie the Rabbit. I mean, I dont see a reason for that, since Robbie never had a weapon anyway, and the one he has in DbD is made up. Just prevents me from spending money on other weapons for Legion, since to use them, I'd have to trash my new favorite costume in the game. So that ends that revenue stream.

Probably licensing reasons.
plus there will be sets where mix matching wouldn’t make sense. They have stated some time ago that for example a normal dress is hard to do if you have to consider mixing it with other cosmetics.

And they will not make nearly as much money because of it.
Mix/matching cosmetics by selling them in smaller parts makes by FAR more cash flow than selling entire sets. "Micro"transactions, micro is the key part of that term and where the money is. Locking cosmetics into sets and nothing else preventing mix/matching hurts cash flow even more.
I for one would have instantly bought PH's corrupted body if it was sold as a single part due to personally finding it to look better with the default head and weapon. But as the corrupted set is fully locked. Im not going to pay for anything.

It's most likely due to licensing. Take it like this, it's either having sets or not having any of those cosmetics.

Isn't Susie's Zipper bunny outfit from Animal Crossing New Horizons? I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't let you change her knife to a ruler. It's more family friendly.

Set? Next killer confirmed to be Egyptian.

Honestly I still hold the opinion that the only cosmetics that should be locked to a complete set of all legendaries because they change your character.
It wouldn't make sense to have the head or the body of a specific character mixed with another character.
It will be weird having Lisa's body and proportions randomly with Cheryl's head on top which would make no sense.
The only other one you could probably make an argument for his maybe Legion because they would have to design how they would look just wearing the mascot outfit without the head which could run into some issues especially with a licensed product. Robbie the Rabbit Head could be added without too much of a problem but it's mainly the torso that would create the issues.
Basically any cosmetic besides legendaries shouldn't be locked legion"s Robbie the rabbit being the only debatable exception.

I personally like the introduction of sets.
Maybe we can finally have some *real* hoodies for survivors? Or outfits that can't really be separated from each other (bc of clipping issues) like high waist jeans or shorts, long shirts/vests, tunics etc.?
As much as I love Bunny Feng, it might've looked better if it was made as an actual hoodie?
Edit: grammer
