Devs the community wants answers!
At what point did the developers think ’Lets make a killer that negates 2nd chance perks’ to be a good idea?
It took the community a few hours to work out he’s strong at tunnelling. PH was in PTB for 2 weeks....
So now we’ve got survivors trying to complete Tome 4 with nearly every killer being PH, the anniversary event in a few days..
I know people will suggest ”Just do gens” in solo queue this isn’t really viable.
The alternative being avoid his gunk on the ground at all costs even if it means going down. If you get tormented you’re gonna have a bad time.
Either way it’s a huge snowball.

There's going to be a learning curve vs. any killer. Plague negates healing, Doctor negates stealth, so what?
Survivors have powerful tools other than their perks. Also, Executioner's cage is a sometimes skill, plus 19 other killers exist. It's not like this is going to be your predicament 100% of the time.

Another guy that wants the game to become survivor sided...

You can play around healing and stealth. You cannot play around tunneling when the only viable tools you have - and two of your perk slots - are rendered un-usable. And with PH being the new, cool toy...it is the predicament right now a majority of the time.

Play both sides then come back to me your statement is invalid.
Either that or you don’t get it.

Your statement is invalid. Give me a reason why not.
Also i play both sides but in total much more survivor and the game is survivor sided most of the time.

Yeah, I am still astounded a cage does not trigger perks although it counts as a sacrifice. This is certainly to be changed since it can be exploited.

I know for what you are talking about. DS and BT. I said it so many times today and guess what I am gonna say it again. It's a horror game killers must be strong...

He's not even that bad to go against?
His trail is easy to avoid. Torment is easy to get rid of, and his power telegraph's exactly where it's going.
Every time a new killer is released, we go through this same ole song and dance. Remember when people were upset and saying he's OP? Look where we are now with him.
Give the dust some time to settle before you start saying he's OP or promotes this or that.
Pyramid Head is fun to play as and against. He has a pretty steep learning curve so it'll be very interesting to see what builds people come up with.

ONE killer can go around BT and DS. It's definitely not the end of the world. People are making it seem like it's going to be nothing but Pyramid Heads being used now.
You seem that forget that you have to be Tormented before you can be placed in a cage. It's very possible to go a full match without ever having that debuff applied.
Truthfully it's a great thing that he can bypass these perks. DS is way too strong in its current state and when coupled with BT?!

Learning curves don’t exist with PH, you get hooked, tunnelled, caged, Tunnelled, then death. He only has to pick you up once

This is ridiculous. You're operating from the perspective that Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike are non-negotiable perks, in a general sense. They're not. The idea that any perk is absolutely 100% mandatory to do well, even in red ranks, is crazy talk.

More proof that ds and bt have replaced skill for many players..its honestly disheartening
4 -
Aside from the need to pick the survivor up, this course of action is not unique to Executioner.

That is still not fair one killer bypasses all perks. That's gaining an unfair advantage:. Exploit
0 -
No, that's working as intended.
If you think you need DS, BT, or any perk to be good at the game, well sorry to break it to you but you're probably not as good as you think you are.
2 -
Those are not "all perks." Those are two perks. Nightmare also bypasses Borrowed Time, stealth characters bypass detection perks, etc. So what?
Also, I'm sure you understand the difference between an intended game play mechanic and an exploit, regardless of whether you like the mechanic or not.

He's really easy to avoid tbh. If anything, I think it could use buffs.

Not an exploit when its intended..you should realize your saying survivors cant do jack without ds and bt..I find that insulting

If you need a killer to tunnel someone out of the match for an ez 3v1 then you are not good. Amirite?

It IS fair, because he bypasses those perks by the cost of killer's perks tied to hooks. Like Pop, which is meta asf and others, which I too lazy to name.

Run different perks.

They devs said that PH being about to ignore hook perks is intended, so I doubt they"ll change it.

General advice: Have some perspective. This is about one killer. You're going to have different issues versus different killers. I mentioned Plague and Doctor up above, but the bigger picture is that different killers are going to attack different parts of the survivors' game plan. If your entire skill set revolves around one or two very specific items or perks, sooner or later you're going to face something that directly counters what you're doing. That's not on the game or the killer player to hand you an easy win, it's on you to adjust.
Executioner's hook-bypassing ability isn't an always-guaranteed 100% thing that he's going to do to literally every survivor he comes across, and it comes with downsides too (the cage spawns very far away, and the killer's own meta pickup/hook-related perks such as Pop Goes the Weasel, Thrilling Tremors, Barbecue & Chili, and Make Your Choice are also impacted by this power).
It's not like it's just some free win, it's that you have to adapt your thinking just like you would with any other killer. This time, it's just forcing you to think outside the box of some of the more powerful perks that are available to you. This is not a bad thing.

Well I for one don't need DS or BT. And I'm not crying about an official mechanic and calling it an exploit because I don't like how it nullifies my precious perks.
It's okay to be upset. You've been playing with training wheels this whole time and now you gotta take em off.

He's not that bad. But the people playing him have been almost exclusively scummy. Every damn one has been a camping tunneling piece of #########.

I think it's quite funny how people forget that you can't get caged unless you get tormented, and every second the killer spends trying to make me tormented instead of hitting me is another second I'm running around instead of not dying on the ground. If I'm wasting more of the killer's time just for him to try to get some special effect on me that cancels out 2nd chance perks (which I don't run anyway) then I am 100% fine with him trying to get that stupid trail on me.
Granted, it's still early since his release and I can't say I know all his values and everything (number of seconds/how much time his trail lasts, etc.) but what I can say is that he can only set trails under him and he moves slower (I think 110%?) movespeed, with no side to side movement and only moving forward and steering. With those things in mind, I've usually been able to adapt the good old "hold W" counterplay that's popular against Nurse and use it well against him. If I just keep running to new tiles and whatnot, he's eventually going to have to give up on the trails unless he's just running ridiculously long trail duration, and he'll have to just attack and hook me normally. By that time he's already wasted however much time trying to get me in a trail.
Now again as I said, it's not like I'm an expert since it's still early since his release and I haven't gotten to do extensive playing against him, and maybe it's just because people are bad at him, but he's far from OP or anything from what I've seen. Yeah, the cages might get annoying if you rely on second chance perks instead of skill, and maybe it won't always be easy to avoid, but as some people have said there's going to be strengths and weaknesses to every killer, just like how Plague attacks the healing aspects of the survivors and Doc attacks the stealth.

How does Nightmare bypass bt? Not arguing, just curious. I've never heard anyone say he can and I've never noticed on my own.

Borrowed Time only triggers when you unhook a survivor in the killer's terror radius. If you are asleep, Nightmare does not project a terror radius to you (it's part of his power), and thus BT will not trigger if you unhook someone.

But you need BBQ and PGTW? Where is the one survivor that can automatically bypass those perks?

Thanks! That's good to know.
