I watched the dev stream and made a summary so you don't have to

In honour of the legendary @Fibijean I decided to help out.

This thread will summarise what was answered in the live stream which featured Marilou (Community Manager), Ethan (Game Designer) and Mat Walker (Level Designer).

Any direct quotes will be placed under (" "), otherwise they are my own words to summarise what was mentioned.

Notes from Marilou: The Silent Hill DLC is now out on PC and Console, giving the option to buy the characters through the game store or the whole DLC through the store. Tomorrow (June 19th) the team will play together for the 'Around the Campfire' stream. The Anniversary Event will start on June 23rd but more information is yet to be shared on that. There are anniversary raffles going around on the dead by daylight discord server right now which begin today.

@Orion - Why does Trail of Torment reveal the generator's aura?

"If we didn't have this, the survivors would have no idea that anything could even happen. So we want to give survivors an indicator that something has at least happened." (Ethan)

He also said that it's effective for catching survivors off guard.

@Respectfulnancymain - Will Pyramid Head's perks be buffed

This question was asked during the PTB

"We made some tweaks to the perks based on feedback and observations from the PTB and they were mostly valued changes" (Ethan)

Forced Penance was changed from 40/50/60 seconds which now gives extra bloodpoints for protection hits. Trail of Torment's duration was increased to 16 seconds and the cool down was reduced to 80/70/60 seconds. There reason Trail's change was for it to be used more often. Deathbound has increased the duration of the oblivious effect and they made improvements to the perk by adding indications it's been activated.

@Lycidas - Are there plans to add the cage skill checks to hooks?

"At this point, we are considering it. It's not sure, but we will be monitoring how it performs when we look at how many people fail the skill checks and how much net time is lost off the people's stays of the cages from it." (Ethan)

They're also looking at player feedback to see if they really want to make that adjustment. They also pointed across that they're not 'dead set' on button mashing, they don't want players doing nothing during the struggle phase.

@LordRegal - Why did you go with Cheryl and not Heather?

Creative Director Dave Richard already answered this in a podcast by saying that Cheryl is taken by the entity after the Silent Hill 3 ordeal.

"(Dave Richard) is quite familiar already with the lore of Silent Hill" (Ethan)

@geranium - Are there any plans to buff The Executioner?

"We were satisfied with his implementation on the PTB and didn't see any major issues or bugs with his power that required dramatic changes". (Ethan)

They confirmed that they are closely monitoring his performance now that he's on the live servers, especially with how Punishment of the Damned performs. Monitoring this closely allows them to see if his power needs an adjustment to which they can react accordingly. They want to give Pyramid Head some time for survivors to get used to how to play against him and collect some data to see how he performs against certain perks.

@linoid - What was the reason for picking things from multiple games?

Basically what this person was asking is why did they add Midwich from Silent Hill 1, Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2 and Cheryl Mason from Silent Hill 3.

Dave Richard did answer this question before by saying "As fans, we wanted to be able to explore most of the stories of Silent Hill as possible, taking what we felt was really iconic and interesting out of them all and that would serve the entity the best."

@Spengler - What's your favourite small detail on the new map?

"Mine would be the corpse in the lockers that just pop up randomly when you walk by them, it gets me every single time." (Marilou)

"Definitely the twitching bodies in the cages... it's super scary" (Mat Walker)

"For me it's the one place in the bathrooms where there is a closed stall and there is some girl in there crying, that's really creepy." (Ethan)

@zavch - Could the cages be changed so they are affected by blindness?

"Killer power objects are never affected by blindness because the aura read ability objects is cored to the balance of the killer, just like the fountains for the Plague or the jigsaw boxes for the Pig, this is the reason why these objects have a white coloured aura." (Ethan)

It's basically a matter of being careful of balance on most things.

@Jota - Will characters also get their visual updated?

"There will be a pass on some of the visuals but we can't really go into details, so stay tuned" (Mat Walker)

@Raidirar - Are there plans to update facial animations?

"Yeah, it's a lot of work so there's a lot of characters to update and we will have more information on that on a later date" (Mat Walker)

@PassarinoT - What kind of animations are being changed in the graphics update?

"A lot of kind of animations. We're really excited to go from survivor locomotion to object interactions and we're going to have a lot more details of those, so you'll have to stay tuned for a lot more updates". (Mat Walker)

@RomeroJane - Will the graphics update change some tiles?

"The graphical update team is working really hard to update all of the visual and bring Dead by Daylight to the next level. Of course what goes with that is the design team will be working with them directly to bring the highest level of game play balance and fun to the game as well at the same time." (Mat Walker)

@spiritjonie - Will the graphics update bring breakable walls to older maps?

"Yes, as mentioned in the previous question we're working hand in hand the level art team and level design team to bring a really next level visual quality and we're looking at integrating breakable walls into the older maps as planned, so yes we will." (Mat Walker)

@mewysocks - Will the graphics update release all at once, or over time?

"We will communicate properly about it and we'll give you all of the details but you will have to stay tuned for the future." (Marilou)

@Flatskull - Are there any plans for more gore/dismemberment with the graphics update?

"There's no plans for it but we're still discussing it so we will communicate about it in the future." (Marilou)

@DingDongs - Is the Clown getting any other changes?

"I've been looking at Clown and his performance for a while and having played him, I think he's underrated, but the power seems to be so well hidden not a lot of people are finding it and that needs to be addressed." (Ethan)

They confirmed it wasn't currently possible to do any major updates to Clown, so instead they found something simple that would help and implemented it in the recent patch where he no longer slows down after throwing a bottle. They're currently looking at more possibilities to making other changes to Clown that they can't announce at this time. All they can say is it is being considered.

@Esskay - Will we be able to mix and match legendary cosmetics?

For those who don't know, legendary cosmetics were released in the latest patch. They are cosmetics that you cannot combine with any other cosmetic. These cosmetics link 2 or 3 cosmetic pieces together, so when you equip one it automatically equips the whole cosmetics and takes off the previous cosmetics you had equipped.

"Right now, the legendary outfits are to convey the fantasy of a character, so mixing and matching parts of two or three different outfits wouldn't make much sense at the moment, what we could call like non mix and match outfits are also made so we can avoid some clippings since they're a little bit different than the other ones." (Marilou)

@Mooks - Will legendary outfits have their own voices?

"This is something we would love to do. We can't do it right now, it's not in yet but if we can in the future, it will happen." (Ethan)

@TheNormalizer - Will there be a 104% bloodpoint offering in the event?

"We'll be revealing all the details of this on Tuesday (23rd June)." (Ethan)

They specified it's the slated time from the communications team as to when they're going to announce those details.

@Inferno427 - Will we ever see more contests like the cosmetic contest?

"It's not likely for things like maps and music right now, there's a lot more that goes into designing maps, music and all that then just the design. It's not something that is easy to make a contest for it, so at the moment it is unlikely." (Marilou)

@Eris27100 - Does Silent Hill mean that we could see other game characters?

"It's always been an option, if you think back we had Bill from Left 4 Dead who got added in March of 2017. Anytime we bump into a character from another video game that we think would make a good fit for Dead by Daylight, it's totally a possibility." (Ethan)

"It's still an open possibility." (Marilou)

@colelema9 - Will there be legendary outfits that aren't licensed?

"It's something we are looking into." (Ethan)

There's a lot of fantasies and ideas that the team has come up with and they will produce these when it fits the schedule, so stay tuned.

@MiniPisa - Any update on the new matchmaking?

They've already started doing tests to the new matchmaking algorithm on certain live servers and they're now starting limited tests of the matchmaking rating system. If these tests are well received, they will be rolled out to all servers. The initial changes will not require a client patch so the announcement of those will be on the forums.

"One of the things we've been doing for at least a month, maybe two months is we've had the MMR system calculating people's MMR's in their background. Not matchmaking bought it, but calculating them and then seeing how well their algorithm predicts whether people win or not. That data has informed some changes to the algorithm itself so it gets better at predicting and now we're on to the point where we're actually testing matchmaking with people to see if it works in practice and once we're sure that happens, we'll roll it off to the general public." (Ethan)

Those were all the questions answered in the live stream. If your question wasn't answered then you can always try again next time. They give out a page where you can write your own questions and see if it gets enough upvotes to be answered.

This was my first time writing these summaries so massive apologies to anyone who got lost reading this, didn't understand my words or if I made any writing mistakes. This took me almost an hour to write and my neck is killing me, so I hope this gets well received.
