Entity Block?
In my opinion, a way to balance the game a little bit is making the entity block 2 survivors and 2 killers every week. Moreover, the survivors and killers that are band locked have their perks blocked as well. For instance, if this week Leatherface and clown are blocked then bbq and pop are also blocked for this week. This creates different and fun builds instead of running meta. Same goes for survivor is David and Laurie are blocked then DS and Dead Hard are blocked as well. This makes the game more fun and enjoyable for both sides.

This is just an idea i feel like it could make the game way more fun and different

bad idea

smh toxic survivor mains

thats just for a week its fun to change it up once in a while

Isn't that what Overwatch did and then apologized because it destroyed their casual competitive game players experience ?
Thus why would you block Killers people wants to play it's idiotic.

I mean, if i was that person with only 1 prestiged character with all perks, i would most likely not play at all. Or play less just to do challenges.

It gets boring running the same meta every time
0 -
Noone forces you to play the same perks.
2 -
The problem is that if you dont then you are going to lose and thats my whole point
Is to change it up a bit

I don't run any second-chance/meta perks and I do just fine.
1 -
Yeah you can't blame the perks if you play poorly and rely on crutches lmao.
1 -
I dont play poorly lol it just gets boring and annoying that if you use other perks then the game is 20x harder because all the survivors run annoying meta perkss

How would this balance the game? It would make it unfun, and thats it. Like, someone cannot play their favorite Killer? Cool, needs to play with others.
Someone has Perks on only 1 Survivor (since they are only Skins) and that Survivor is blocked. So no Survivor for a week?

You can run whatever you want, which is exactly what your change would prevent others from doing.

It's not really a great idea. You'd want the devs to implement a system that locks a character for a week despite some of them being characters we paid for. Yeah, that's not going to happen. They'd be literally denying us the ability to use the content we paid for. Now, if DbD was a Free to Play game, and all characters were free, then sure. But as long as we have to pay for killers and survivors, then nope.

Do you realize that part of the meta right now is killers who Camp|Tunnel|Slug? In no specific order.
So let’s review for a second. Those 3 are built-in mechanics, meaning it doesn’t matter if you are playing Hillbilly or Wraith... or what day it is. They can both abuse all of them.
Now, back to your idea. This is a bad idea, not because you think it’s a balanced one but because you are legitimately saying someone who just paid for a killer or a survivor cannot play as them.

Then maybe not block the character maybe instead block two random survivor and killer perks like the opposite of the shrine of secrets

I just putting out a new idea which can change the gameplay drastically

I think that this would be a terrible idea, for both new players and old players. Besides a few, most killers and survivors are paid for, either through shard or cells. Imagine paying 5$ for a killer and just not being allowed to play them
Then the other issue is, survivors are fundamentally the same, so alot of the community pick one or two and pour there bloodpoints into them, and merely leveled the others for teachables, if at all. Locking people out of the character they play won't promote build diversity, just incentivise them to not play whilst they're locked.
Another point, at base and platform dependant, there are only a handful of free killers and survivors. Imagine being a new player and having 2 of the 5 or so killers you have access to being locked out for you, really limiting your options
And my final point, locking out the players teachables would also be a terrible idea. Most survivors have 1 or 2 good teachable perks, and the majority of them can be replaced with one similar, so builds would barely change. For example, if Tapp and David where locked out, dead hard would be the only "meta" perk lost, and can be replaced with other exhaustion perks
Other games can get away with locking certain chatacters, because they have massive rosters, and typically rotating free characters (if not all of them for free). It just wouldn't work for DbD

Didn't work for Overwatch, doubt it would work here. My friends who play OW just didn't play when they couldn't use their mains (and after a while stopped playing entirely). If you don't like using the same stuff, nothing's stopping you from using something different. The only meta perk I usually use on survivor is spine chill.

But locking dead hard for a week will change the gameplay alot or maybe locking DS or BBQ or any of these meta perks
0 -
You guys are right about the characters being locked but creating some kind of system like the shrine blocking perks every week will be a new interesting concept which can work in favor for both killer and survivor
0 -
the problem is if i dont use the same stuff then i will lose every game because of meta survivor perks like ds deadhard bt and iron will

It would be interesting be interesting, but in order to really shake up the meta, it would take more than locking one or two perks. Locking only Dead Hard would just increase use of Sprint Burst or Lithe.
There will always be a meta, even if its just a weekly one. And then that begs the question, will it only be "meta" perks that get locked or will it be random? Who picks? how long? Can they be repeatedly locked? As well as ramifications from which perks get locked. DS locked? Killers will have no reason not to just down and pick up freshly unhooked survivors
A change like this would be impossible to implement without massive backlash from both survivor mains, killer mains, and everyone else.
And finally, no one forced people to use "meta" perks. They're merely meta perks because they're powerful, and popular. No one is making you run Dead Hard, or BBQ, or PGTW

Even if you blocked 2 survivors, there are enough meta perks that tryhards will still use 4 meta perks. And there's always the Spine Chill/Resilience combo, which can't be blocked.

the characters you have a valid point on but the perks could be locked for a week and it can spice up the game a bit.
