It's when you take a survivor of a hook in front of the killer just like you would if you were to have a farming match.

Not really the correct place for this question but to answer it anyway.

There are two types of farming

    1) hook farming this is when a survivor unhook another survivor in front of the killer it doesn't matter whether they rushed the hook or decide to unhook during a chase.

Essentially it means that the person who got unhooked is super likely to get to tunnel in which case you can't really blame the killer because you basically handed them a free kill.

Small disclaimer just because you used borrowed time doesn't mean it wasn't farming usually without an exit strategy borrow time only really saves your safe hook rescue.

    2) general farming is usually when survivors in killers work together to get as much bloodpoints as possible, complete archives challenges or dailies.

Some people in the community frown upon it because they want to play the game normally. the act itself is not bannable as long as you don't actively work to kill people who don't want to farm.

For example Nea doesn't want to farm but Meg keeps unhooking her in front of Trapper who downs her immediately and put her back on her until she dies that is bannable.

Also you typically get an answer a lot quicker if you do it in general. Lore tends the only really be used by people who want to talk about lore which often means there's not much traffic here
