Edit: or pay attention to the game and u'll know u just need to wait for the animation to complete.1 -
What? You literally just wait 1.5 seconds and you can hit them. You'll learn to time it right. ADAPT.2

It's only for a split second. The killer could hit the survivor while they were still stuck in animation before, now they can't. You just have to wait until the survivor can move now before you swing. As far as I understand, once the survivor can move they can take damage again.

It gives the survivor being unhooked the chance to dead hard or any other way of escape. You couldn't do that before and it was pretty annoying when you unhooked yourself.

It's to help survivors against Killers who are farmed unwillingly. It actually gives them a chance to escape and I appreciate that.

Honestly if you're close enough to hit the one being unhooked you're camping anyway and have no reason to complain about milliseconds of invulnerability when you can just hit milliseconds later and still down the poor survivor.

There's hook rushing which is still a thing even with the event score change and survivors stupid enough to actually pull someone off as they're being chased,2 -

Happens to me all the time I go to take out a wounded and get a second/third hook kill for it (one tine had like 3 people all hooked in a line)0

Or as it happens a few times I.basement people get unhooked I'm at stairs and hatchet first I see and often wounded unhooked hides down there to sc and dies0
