Does anyone like indoor maps (Visuals aside, duh)?

For me, it's an instant dissapointment whenever a new map is an indoor one.

They're not only unfun because you simply have no idea where you are most of the time, which takes any planning away from both sides, it's also awfull to chase/be chased in them becasue the tiles are some weird contraptions designed to make me want to never leave the killer's basement. It takes all your usual DBD skill away and makes it all seem so ... Random and chaotic... I genuinely wonder if anyone likes indoor maps gameplay, if you do ... Why ?

I like the tension of not knowing where the killer is, but as a killer they can be annoying.

The indoor maps are probably the prettiest maps there are (aside from The Game), gameplay wise I am mixed. I don't mind Lery's and The Game, but Hawkins and Midwich are nightmares. Hawkins mostly because of the lack of strong pallets, but otherwise I don't mind it.

Though I really dislike Midwich cause it has 4 strong pallets and the rest are so bad they might as well not be there. Good luck if you're going against Freddy, Doctor or Clown. It's almost always a better option to just run in a straight line in the corridors, than it is to run into a room to find a pallet.

I also really can't navigate through Midwich, trying to get teammates on hook that's below or above you is incredibly hard, cause there are only 3 ways to go up (4 if the killer breaks the bathroom doors) and it can be a nightmare to find ways to come down, I really feel like the map needs more holes in the floor, at least a couple in the corridor, you can use for easy way to get down. Midwich might be the best looking and most interesting map in the game, but gameplay wise it's feel horrible for both killer and survivor to play on.

I don't like The Game much, too many generators located right in the inner corners, just inviting Killer to suddenly pop up in Your face. And pallet placement is iffy, there are god pallets around and above the basement area and nothing else in the rest of the map.

Lery's is ok, not much to complain here. Looks really nice after rework.

Midwich I love. Not sure why everyone complains about it, I manage to loop Killers around whatever pallets there are and after You memorize the layout, staying on second floor makes You quite safe against the Killer.

Can't comment much about Killer's perspective on the new map. For some reason I can't get any games as a Killer while Survivor's get matched instantly.

Personally, I love indoor maps. I love the look and feel. Gameplay wise, though, they're just like any other map to me. Some killers excel at them, others flounder.

For example, in Lery's or Hawkins, a Billy may have trouble gaining momentum due to all the angular corridors, but he excels at outdoor maps like McMillan or Autohaven. Meyers' is better at outdoor maps, but with a scratched mirror, you're kinda screwed if you end up indoors.

My only issue is Midwich. It's primarily long narrow hallways with rooms scattered about. There aren't enough ways out of each room, and I really think each hallway on the second floor should have a hole in the wall that lets you drop down to the first floor. It's not as confusing as the game, though, so I think that enough practice should help out.

I like indoor maps like Hawkins and Lerys because all the walls and rooms blocking LoS allow me to lose the killer much easier compared to outdoor maps.

Midwich is a Disaster. I like the atmosphere and detail but there is a severe lack of decent pallets, large dead zones, empty rooms and long empty corridors. Ok there’s like 1 or 2 god pallets but that’s it.

Hawkins is better designed but nearly every pallet is useless.

Indoor maps are terrible, this game was never designed for those and it doesn't work properly indoors, they should all be deleted

As a killer main I hate getting indoor maps and since I'm currently using Billy to get his perk's it's really annoying and also for some reason every time I use an ebony Mori it's always an indoor map

I hate all indoor maps. Treatment Theatre the most.

    Because I get lost.

I hate game most because Billys power is basically useless unless you corner a survivor

I like The Game and Lerys quite a bit. The Game is kinda even because it has less pallets, but safe pallets, it's also not that frustrating to play as killers or survivors, but deadzones can be easily created if the survivors waste it.

Lerys I love because it has medium pallets, decent(ish) windows, but it's also can be quite good for killers. It's fun though, you always like going for chases on Lerys, no matter the side you're playing.

Hawkins I am in the middle with because it's not THAT bad compared to Saloon or The School. Survivors know they're gonna die if they loop and just attempt to genrush, but if the killers play it smart they can guarantee wins on it easily. Hawkins is a lot more fun to play on than the Saloon and School in my opinion, as both sides.

The School I absolutely hate. Unsafe pallets, best strat is literally to circle the building and that's no fun for survivor or killer. 2 god pallets which give way too much distance, and the rest suck. Gens are way too hard to pressure and again, if the survivors circle the building, there's no chase interaction.

They are actually great for stealth killer play, and honestly the only one I truly don't care for at this point is the saw one. Hawkins has great visuals and some fun loops, I pretty much am in love with Midwich at this point, and lery's has grown on me, I path it so well as killer it's never a huge problem, although it does tend to offset more depending on killer.

But the saw map? Visuals are ok at best, parking lot at most often.. I do appreciate the bathroom, and the warehouse design room, and the broken pig grinder loop... It's just not that fun for the frustration it often brings. People complain about Midwich, but to this day I have extreme trouble at times deciphering where the ######### stairs are on this map. And if you're in the middle of the bottom, well good luck finding those gens in time, going along the long wall to a doorway on the opposite side of where the gen is just to have it popped in your face more often than not.. Also not super fun against great nurse players.

From a game play perspective, indoors maps are all my favorite maps on both sides.

It makes the game more tense as you don't always know exactly where the killer is at. Outdoor maps let you see the killer a mile away so you are almost never getting snuck up on. Almost all the outdoors maps are just giant fields of pallet and window loops...there is nothing exciting or engaging about that. You see the epitome of this poor design in the corn maps and autohaven maps. The red forest maps aren't much better either.

The inside maps allow for more mind games and jukes mid chase. Every chase doesn't go exactly the same every time and isn't predictable.

If they made much more line of sight blockers and different levels on the outdoors maps they would be a lot better designed.

I hate them from both the killer and the survivor side. It's a guaranteed "damn it, not again" every time one loads.

it heavily depends on the killer i play / verse.

i LOVE indoormaps on stealth killers.

i hate the multi level aspect of Gideon and Midwich though. Especially when its NOT a stealth killer and i just have a constant heartbeat 24/7 -.-

though, they are really good against spirit. you can hear her footsteps very well on these maps floors and it makes it a lot easier to pinpoint her location.

I actually really enjoy the game and Hawkins. They’re some of my favourite maps. Midwich and Lerys on the other hand not so much.

I love lerries from both sides. Mutual mind game potential is a lot of fun. Fixated is one hell of a perk on that map. Not a huge fan of the game but it's alright. I like the new map well enough. I like the intentional inclusion of hiding spots.

I love them. They're pretty, rare and I love how it makes the game less predictable even if it means I keep getting lost

For survivor, YES. I find them a bit spookier since you can't just watch the killer from across the map and feels safe. I'd prefer it if it was hard to see in every map, I remember the old old game having a weird blurring distant fog; I want it back.

For killer, YES. Essentially the same reason^ I seem to have the most success cutting people off in indoor maps.

The only indoor map I genuinely always enjoy getting in Lery's. It might actually be my favorite map in the game. Obviously love the visuals, but I also just love running on it. There's a good amount of pallets with good (but not broken) placement; I like how the doors and windows line up, and I just like the circular nature of it.

I like Hawkins as well, but it's definitely not good for looping. The Game is straight up trash, and I would not be sad if it was removed from DBD entirely. Midwich is gorgeous, and maybe I'll get used to it the more I'm on it, but atm I'm getting lost and stuck in dead end rooms. Some of the breakable walls make sense, but there are too many parts of the map that are dead ends for both sides if the wall isn't broken. I know they're meant to help ease infinites, but you can't infinite a dead end. /: And at least in Yeehaw Town you can still get in and out of places without the killer breaking the wall.

The argument is often that you can’t game the way you normally would on an outdoor map, but isn’t that the point? It adds variety. I like The lab and hospital. I originally found them tedious but have gotten good at them and have fun now.

I get lost in “the game” map sadly so often don’t do well on it. I know it’s said to be killer sided but seriously I screw that map up all the time.

haddonfield and the pre-school are kinda half half maps that feel a little stunted with the long fences and hedges, I kinda like these the least.

The new map is different again but I feel in a limited kinda way. Typically the best thing for survivors to do is just sprint burst down the corridors as the pallets and classrooms are often a death trap. Also finding a hook can be a pain.

indoor maps keep the game from being “samey” every match. Variety is a good thing. Although I hope the next map is outdoors but not too large hehe.

Graphically, they're stunning. Gameplay wise, they're not perfect by any means. I know many people dislike Lerry's or The Game, but I don't think these maps are terrible by any means. From a killer POV, I can see where an indoor map might be annoying, but I still have fun with them at the end of the day, and they're not 100% unbearable by any means.

Love them, running them feels a lot more like proper stealth gameplay compared to normal maps. Both sides have more opportunities to hide and the Survivor has more chances to lose the Killer outright compared to other maps at the cost of being harder to loop in.

Honestly, if the indoor maps didn't look decent I wouldn't tolerate them.

Lery's, Hawkin's, and Midwich I can tolerate simply because they very nice, and at least it's sorta playable. I would rather both though.

However, Meat Plant is not at all aesthetically pleasing compared to the other 3, and it has about as good of game-play as them to, making it by far the worst map.

I despise Meat Plant along side the swamp maps. They suck.

I would like the new pyramid head map if it was not extremely dark, I can get around everything else though. I really like hawkins, I dont know why though.

Indoor maps give a bit too much of an advantage to stealth killers imo. Unless you're using Spine Chill, they're almost guaranteed a win.

Also gens have terrible spawns and are quite difficult to find even for experienced players.

Love indoor maps. Makes stealthing as a Survivor and a Killer all the more fun and the terror of being so close to them with just a thin wall separating us.
