Golden crown survivor/killer question
Does getting the golden crown with a killer only unlock the cosmetic for a killer? Because I'm thinking about just doing it on killer. I'm not sure why killers just have to grab it and then ladie dah, But I am both relatively new, not completely anymore I've got some play time under my belt finally but relatively new to the game and I usually play killer.
Four games in a row now, four games in a row, I have found the golden crown after not looking for it but doing my part to contribute; generators, rescues etc and as soon as I find the crown, And I have that little golden sparkle, I seem to get hooked which that part is my fault of course not implying otherwise, but I get hooked and then the killer just stands there face to face with me. Can't get rescued and if I do they tunnel me immediately. I even switched to Lori strode for decisive strike hit my decisive strike and he's still ran right past two other survivors to down me again and hook and kill me. And yes I am salty I am fully acknowledging that this is a salty chunk of complaining and I'm sorry for that part. But it's like getting really frustrating and taking a lot of the fun out of it when I feel like I don't dare touch the crown or it's just GG.
Hence my original question of do I have to unlock it on both or should I just go get it on the killer? Because this is pretty silly and frustrating.

It's easier to gst it on killer but you can only get it with non licensed killers and you have to get it as each individual killer since it is not universal.

But like I would happily get it with each survivor as well. I mean it's certainly one thing to present a challenge to players and say if you do this you earn this thing and that's totally fine. But when there's two sides of the same coin but one is harder to flip than the other that takes a little bit of the fun out of side one. 🤷🏻♂️ But just my opinion, my saltiness. Respect man ✌🏼❣️

Friend, that is not salt at all, that Killer was a tunneling douche bag and I'm sorry for that experience. I hope you'll acquire the crown and make it out soon.

I appreciate the kind words man. Truly. It's like more frustrating because not to beep my own horn here or anything but like I never do that. There's so much teabagging and toxicity and game which strangely I don't see on the forums, and I just stay out of it. But it definitely gets frustrating to deal with lol

So I have this weird bug, not sure if anyone else is experiencing it. I grabbed the crown 3 times with Claudette and escaped and didn’t receive it.

It's super frustrating trying to get it as survivor because it's bringing out all the sweat lord killers so I've just been farming as killer to get it all on them first and hope to make it easier if only for one game for the survivors to get their Funyons too.

So killers just have to grab it and can do whatever they want afterwards. But survivors have to actually put forth effort and get lucky to escape. Now I get that people claim that survivors are entitled and how the game "favors" them. But if you can sit there and say that is not favoring sides then idk. I see people making the argument that people would just bring out their sweaty 4k try hard builds but honest to god that is EXACTLY all I have seen today anyways. Tunneling into the dirt. mori's, Camping, proxying, etc. There is no denying that it's very unbalanced. This event has done nothing but just bring out players toxicity. yeah go ahead and say that i'm an entitled survivor or i'm whining but I'm sorry it really is ridiculous.

So far I have escaped the trials about 10 times now as fing men after finding the Golden Crown and still having the glow about me and I still don't get it for my character. I guess I should be used to this. Basically it's a four year anniversary of a buggy mess that they never take time to fix right.

Just a note:
It doesn't auto equip. Check your head cosmetics.
Also, as killer, I'm prioritizing hunting those displaying crowns already during the endgame collapse. You're welcome!

I thought that I had this same problem, but make sure you're not trying to get it on a licensed killer because that was my issue. I wasn't thinking and didn't realize that Freddy Krueger couldn't get one.
