Love the design of the new killer! I have one (minor) problem though
And before you guys get any ideas, it has nothing to do with Rin herself at all. In fact, it exclusively has to do with her weapon. Talking about the basic one here, side note. It's called the "shattered katana," right? And due to translation silliness, that is technically correct. As is "shattered sword." However, it's a tad vague. After discussing it with other historical and sword enthusiasts (we exist!) we found the sword Rin is shown using (in most of her skins) is called a Chokutō, a single edged straight sword made prior to the 10th century.
The designs are so very similar, they were clearly inspired by those specific kinds of swords. So why just call them katanas? It's similar to calling a claymore a longsword....Yes, a claymore is indeed a long sword, but it has a more specific name. And no, I won't demand they change it or anything. That's silly, this is just a particular detail that I find interesting, and think would actually benefit the game in a minor, but meaningful way, but this their game, and besides, katana is technically correct.
I just think that using the more specific name would better cement the characters and world (giving the family more weight, since that means the sword, and thus family, is over 1000 years of direct heritage), while also possibly pushing people to actually look into this interesting sword name that hey haven't heard of before, and possibly :ohnoes: make them learn something!
Anyways, I like both the characters designs and backstories, and keep up the good work!

I see your point here. I was member in an historical reenactment group and I saw errors in so many games (not DbD) But the point is, the devs can't be 100% correct. If you accept that to yourself, you can enjoy the games much more

@1stVampire To me it's not that it is an inaccuracy, but that the more precise one is more interesting. And if someone just looks up "straight katana" they won't likely ever stumble on the Chokutō. And besides, "straight katana" isn't an exciting name, honestly.

It looks like i wasn't imagining things, it DOES look like a straight sword. My best guess was, maybe it looks straight because rearranging the shattered pieces made it look different.
As for the name, japanese people are(mostly) not specific when calling a sword katana. It could mean any single edged sword, even non-japanese as far as i know.
The game is not in japanese though so..there's that.0 -

The game is not in japanese though so..there's that. That's true, but if you look at the Chokutō, you can see that is pretty dang similar, if not specifically that kind of sword. In particular, look at the hilt/pommel (the very bottom part of the sword's hilt). Essentially curved swords were introduced by mongol invasions in the 10th century, if I remember correctly. They discovered how devastatingly effective curved swords were, especially when used by mounted warriors. Due to this, the Japanese started to create curved single edged sword: what we commonly call a katana.

Oh common, koshka of huntress was translated as kitten, and it still wasn't changed.
