Toxic community & unfair gate?

Why is everyone so toxic, I played as a survivor. I did gens, saves, got in 2 chases and juked them so I didn't get hooked. Was the last one alive and the killer closed the hatch then just stood between both doors. I just let him get me then at end chat I still gave a gg then he told me to stop hiding then told me that I get what I F**ing deserved lmao. I did nothing bad such as t-bag or flashlight him. 4th game in a row with an 'unhappy' killer. Usually when I play killer I don't get toxicity in the endchat or ingame, but I have seen my share of toxic survivors. However, wen I play survivor I somehow always get the toxic people way more. Is anyone else seeing an increase in toxicity? This game could be so much more fun if everyone just chilled out & if dbd fixed their game instead of making a mobile version.

As for gates, how can one open a gate safely if you're the last one. The killer can just stand between both in most maps. I feel like the timer to open a door should be less if you're the last one. Or be able to open hatch again, maybe make that a long timer and get rid of keys? It seems a bit unfair that the only choice is to just give the killer a free kill. Even if you run spinechill & quentin's perk and get to a door asap you're doomed unless you're in a huge map but that chance is so rng.

I just wanna see others thoughts on this, hopefully this doesn't turn into a sour sally fest.

Dude, this game is about slaughtering others, no a chess match, what else do I need to say?

being toxic as surv is a natural reaction to fight-back, and the killers are toxic cuz they are supposed to

I don't think the gate unlock time is unfair.

That's why you should make sure that you're not the last man standing when you still have to unlock gates.

Also there is always the hatch.

Sometimes there is just no escape and you have to accept that.

The killer goal is to kill the survivors, yes. The survivors goal is to escape and avoid the killer when needed to. That is the point of this game. You are making no sense lmao.

If you're the last one alive, hes probably right. Dont be immersed. Gens and saves means nothing. Chases are more important. The gates are fine. I never expect to get out if I'm the last alive. It's not a "free kill" - your team got outplayed and you are at a disadvantage.

Yes, that's what "chance" means, it's based on probability.

When this happens, you have four options:

    1. Try to open the gate without being seen. Usually this involves a combination of stealth and misdirection. For example, opening a gate until the first light then GTFOing to the other (stealthily), or creating a noise notification by exiting a locker far enough away from the gates that you can get there and open them before the killer is finished searching the area.
    2. Try to find a key. You have 2 minutes and the killer's not going anywhere, might as well try. I once found a Skeleton Key in a chest without any perks to improve my odds.
    3. Let the Entity take you during the EGC.
    4. Surrender yourself to the killer and hope for the best.

None of those guarantee your success because that's how games work. If a strategy could guarantee you'd succeed 100% of the time, it'd be broken.

How is it fair? Did you not read the post explaining everything? You can not avoid being the last one, there can be bad teamates and just unlucky games. When that happens, yes you can race to find hatch but the killers finds the hatch before you. Or even if you avoid finding the hatch and go to a door asap, the killer will most likely get to you before you get to open the door. You have no choice but to try for gate and usually they spawn not far from each other. Which mean the killer can easily camp or walk to both doors. How is it fair that you have no choice but to die, you should have a better chance to live and not just give up a free kill. I can see a senario where you do live, such as if you get a big map & you use a septic to get in an extra hit and open the gate but that is so rng. I'm talking about getting a fair fight when the hatch is closed and the doors are close to eachother.

How is it fair that the killer outplays your entire team, yet is punished by increasing your odds of escape?

Even more so on indoor maps where the gates are preset and guarantee a killer cannot get between them. Unless you play incredibly poorly those maps are a free escape for at least one survivor.

It’s not supposed to be fair. Your entire team got wiped out and you didn’t find the hatch. You can’t expect the game to just hand you an escape even after you and your whole team got demolished.

That's still a free lost survivor if you don't want to play the same 4 killers as every other tryhard.

I play Oni sometimes because he's fun, not because I'm a tryhard. Also, there's nothing wrong with being a tryhard in a competitive setting, that's literally what "competitive" means.

No there's not. What's a problem is balancing things in a way that benefits different sides based on which killer you pick, rather than what the other 80% of maps do and use RNG to at least give less mobile killers a chance that gates won't ######### them over.

In terms of gameplay I have found as a survivor that working as a team and keeping as a team is the best chance of escape (no s**t, right?). As The Killer works hard to eliminate survivors, it is only right their chance of survival increases. Even then, the hatch can throw the balance. However, if a killer manages to close the hatch, it makes sense that the final survivor has little chance of escape. That's why it's important to work as a team. Survivors are not entitled to win every game.

However, there is such a thing as sportsmanlike behaviour. This is what should happen after the game has ended. If you've been fair and GG at the end, and they get rude and abbrasive, that's just showing how pathetic and weak those are. You shouldn't experience that.

Basically, during the match neither side should even consider expecting any kindness. Yet post-game the match is over, so people can either move on or at least be sporting or friendly about it. Imagine Hamilton on the podium in F1. Ricciardo goes on second and Hamilton starts ranting "GGEZ!!!" at him. Hamilton would be a laughing stock, amd rightfully ridiculed.

Like I said, You have to accept that you cant win every game, no matter how hard you try.

Every game and situation is different and will there for have a different outcome.

If you are the last survivor standing before the exit gates (have to be) opened, and the hatch is closed. The killer has outplayed your Team and basically already won. In this situation, Yes, you are at a disadvantage and have a very small chance to save the day.

Try to put yourself into the shoes as killer.

Mind you that if a killed closes the hatch, he has probably no intention of granting you an escape.

If a game isn't going a survivor's way, the survivor has an out of just getting caught and dying on hook. If a game isn't going a killer's way, they have to keep playing it, and survivors will stop doing gens and start running around the killer once they realize the killer is afk or not participating. You are not forced to play the game as a survivor, but you are forced to play the game as a killer.
