I think the crowns look awful.
Personal opinion.
The crowns are like some of the floaty crap you would expect in games like Roblox.
This is the first time I am not bothering with an event, although I still have around 9-10 tiers to go on the Rift pass. Once I've done that, I think I'm going premium/trophy/grind-free and just try and enjoy the game.

I agree, but they're event items and I'm going to try and get them all because why not? If they're given free later down the line, great. It won't bother me in the slightest.

they are meant to be satanic horns, as DBD is a satanic illuminati game promoting dark agendas like feeding Arcons (represented by the entity)
so they did kind of hidden satanic horns in an awful yet renamed "crown", a bit confusing with the horns
no sure if touching the horns to get them and/or equipping them have some hidden interdenominational meaning as part of a ritual or smth

I feel like its more what kind of look your going for:
I find the crown/halo to look good on the plague(a priestess) or jeff(Who values healing and saving others from his perks) for thematic reasons.
Another look I try is the center of attention look for my looping survivors like david(My main) or meg whom I have set up to be chased and want to be seen more easily.

When they said "crowns" for cosmetics this Anniversary event I was expected actual medieval royal crowns. This crap is just a floating U behind everyone's heads. Again, it's all free, so I suppose that gets a pass. Just disappointed.

I think they would work better as charms, I feel that currently they are too intrusive with cosmetic pieces.

I would have rather like to have the glowing effect as a separate Cosmetic Option. Maybe make it only available seasonal to special occasions (like anniversary or Christmas).
I dont like the Crowns, but I will collect them all. But most likely never use them.

Oh they definitely do! Didn't stop me from getting them all on both sides even if I'm never going to wear them though!

This is the thing I don't understand: the need for completion.
"I don't like it, I won't use it...but I must have it."
I was pretty much like this until I realised that I was playing DBD just to get progression toward new skins. Skins I would never use. And the challenges I were attempting made for gameplay styles that lacked any enjoyment.
And the other headache-inducing exercise was attempting to complete achievements to gain trophies. Although I did manage to get platinum, I have since ceased trophy hunting. I mean what I am getting out of it? Definitely not fun, that's for sure.
But again, regarding crowns, it's not the grind that irks me: I just feel they look bad.

I like the crowns' simplistic design and the fact that they float behind your head.

I'd like them if it didn't mean giving up any decent head cosmetic to use.

I was expecting to look like some fine af royalty. Instead it’s an ugly dollar store brand halo. And it’s not even on TOP of your head, to top it all off.

I actually like it on Hag and Doctor because i didn't have decend heads on them. I also want to unlock it on Legion, it looks promising. Some of Killers doesn't look good with the crown. Spirit covers the crown with her hair so it has no difference from default head.

Not to mention you have to use their default head in order to use it. I mean surely they could make it so you could use it on any cosmetic head piece as it just floats behind you rather than actually attaching itself to the head piece?
