This event is a whole lot of <bad word>
First of all, the obvious: getting a crown as killer is a thousand times easier than for survivor. Anyone who says otherwise is objectively biased and wrong.
And ON TOP of that, characters who already have the crown (killers AND survivors) can still grab the crown, denying other people. and as a surprise to absolutely no one, Killers are doing more tunneling and camping than usual to ensure survivors don't escape, and unless you're playing in a SWF group you're already at a major disadvantage as survivor.
This event is just barely better than the lanterns event where killers could entirely deny survivors by permanently destroying all lanterns on the map. if you want to make this event more fair, let the last living survivor keep their crown on death OR change the "survive" objective to do a gen or something. I know survivors suiciding on hook to quickly secure a crown could be a problem, but not nearly as much as a problem as not being able to get a crown because you play solo queue

Dev's rarely get anything right on the first try. And since this is an event, they won't probably won't change anything. (Unfortunately)

It’s easier for killers because if it was easier for survivors, they would just grab the crown and kill themselves.
Yes, there are killers camping so they can get the crowns for themselves, but there are almost definitely survivors who are also looking for crowns instead of doing the objective.
Please stop this “us vs them” mindset. Why can’t people just enjoy a cosmetic event?

you know that crowns reset, right?
when somebody collects one it appears somewhere else on the map

They have had other events to get feedback from. I can see they are taking a step in the right direction but it's still poorly designed. maybe it's just a lack of mechanics to work with.

it's not a mindset, it's reality. Have you even been playing the event yet or are you just trying to preach that we should "just work together" and "stop the hate".
if survivors could suicide and keep their crown that would be a problem, but that's not the case at all so it's neither a problem NOR a point of discussion on this post.

Honestly, if a 1 survivors who had a crown was guaranteed an escape if the killer also had a crown, it would make the event much more fair. A killer who gets to keep their crown no matter what happens shouldn't be slaughtering all 4 survivors for any reason

Killers have all match to walk all around the map to find a crown, survivors are stuck in one place doing gens

In the end you have to understand that especially late in the rift that there are some nasty challenges.
- Kill all survivors in one game
- Do the adept one with atleast 1 escape
- some more killing Challenges
Even though i feel bad when i have to go full tryhard in the end its the challenge and i guess everyone agrees that he/she wants to finish the Challenge as quickly as possible and dont want to root for luck.

The alternative is what happened with the Hallowed Blight event, where everyone just sucked up all the juice then suicided. I much prefer this.

Yes, let's go back to the times when survivors could sabotage our event hooks. That's so much more fun. Killers will definitely want to play killers during such an event. Right? Right?
2 -
i mean, you could just look for it during end game

Its not hard to get a crown as survivor. This event is totally fine.

It'd be nice if there was just some way for survivors to cash in their crown besides just escaping. Like if after finding it they had to fill up a meter by earning BPs.

Thank you. Being MVP and then dying to killer because I had a crown is getting real old. I've been playing all day and still stuck getting one. Unfun event so far. Wish they didn't do anything for it.

I'm a Killer main and I don't understand it.

I played solo survivor for about three to four hours yesterday, and didn't walk away with a single crown. It was a crapshoot from game one, where the killer DC'd within the first minute of the game. Came across my share of killers who would tunnel/camp too, so I eventually gave up, switched to Clown, and played two games where I let all the survivors leave after two hooking all of them.

You forgot how unbelievably poorly designed this event is. I can't even play the game without disconnecting every other match because of some desync error that causes a disconnect to happen. I've gone from the regular 5 minute penalty to over an hour because the game automatically disconnects you after an error happens all because I decided to interact with something in the game.

Lmao. Please don't act like survivors can't run around the map. They can and do. Literally the first time anyone has ever said something to the effect of "killers have more down time than survivors".
Also, maybe I'm just "lucky" but I've found a crown in almost every match I've done without even looking.

survivors have to run to gens, the killer can chase people anywhere on the map. if a survivor spends time looking they're wasting time, if a killer spends time looking they can still be doing their objective at the same time.
This is basic common sense, I do not understand why so many people on this forum do not understand. Stop watching "Bullied by SWF" comps, they rot your brain.

I've spent the last few days making sure people who don't have crowns can get a chance while I grab all the crowns for killer, I just wish more people would join me instead of acting as selfish as this community likes to.

I think the crowns are a poor idea anyways. What really pisses me off is these gateau's are not working properly.

Well last night I played all new killers I've never played before to practice and generally let everyone go. I copped a never ending onslaught of post game abuse about how crap a player I am for my efforts and de-ranked about 4 levels (although I don't really care about that). I did log off feeling a bit jaded however.
Tonight I just played as usual and if the last person was glowing gave them the hatch. Focused a lil more on people already with a crown and those who were just trying to hide all game to get the escape, which led to some tunneling etc but with good intention hehe. Slugged most glowing folks after first hook and generally just did my thing. Much better result less toxic post game chat (a lil salt here and there but not much).
Most final survivors were generally happy to get their crown done. Some nights are toxic some nights are good. Guess the idea is to just play the game and if you get lucky with a crown or a friendly killer role with it. If not move on.
