It’s been 48 hours and the devs are still silent about the cakes.
They’ve acknowledged it at the very beginning only and tried to make us feel like it was a “bug worth exploiting” where they said we wouldn’t be punished for abusing it. Yet, this item that should be able to literally be copied and pasted from last year while tweaking a 3 to a 4 is still not fixed.
It honestly seems like they’re doing this on purpose. They don’t want us to get too many Bloodpoints, so they lie and pretend like this is the better option because it’s “140 instead of 104!” While neglecting the fact that it’s really 140 instead of 520.
Not to mention the fact that the extra BP youd be getting if they actually worked would be going towards more cakes. People keep saying “just wait till after the event! They’ll still work then!” But that conveniently neglects the fact that after the event, those extra BP you get won’t be able to get you more cakes. So that 500% extra BP you’re missing out won’t be able to get you 500% extra cakes like it should.
Come on, BHVR. You’ve wasted 1/7 of the event in silence. Stop hiding and fix this bug that shouldn’t take more than an hour to fix if you programmed it mildly competently. This is the kind of thing that can be literally copied and pasted, take it from me, an actual programmer.

On topic, they're usually queit when it comes to updates on bugs. We can only hope they're fixed soon.

My guess is while we like to entertain the idea that this stuff is an "easy fix" it most certainly seems it is not. There has to be a reason issues like this take so long to address, I wondered aloud if their coding is outsourced etc,... because in 2020 either this can be recitifed in a couple hours by a competent team or something is wrong, and if there is something wrong, its wrong with the entire method of pushing these versions to live. It seems to be the case, as they said they did not have this error until pushing to live servers. SOmething might be terribly wrong.

Wait, I'm confused. What is the 'exploit'? Anytime I'm in a game and someone plays a cake I never get the bonus bloodpoints with one exception. I got it on a killer who didn't have bbq.

The “exploit” is that you, yourself, get 140% extra BP but nobody else gets any. But of course, everybody getting 520% extra is leagues better, but BHVR acts like we can’t do basic math and says “oh you’re free to abuse this to your advantage!”

Which is an embarrassment since it should have taken 20 minutes to copy and paste the code. Though, then again, we all know how much of a speghetti mess this game’s code is.

Two things:
1) We mentioned that we were looking into it the day it was released, and then mentioned later that day that we've figured out what's wrong and will fix it ASAP. The only other thing we can say at this point is, "It's still on the way, don't worry."
2) Yesterday was a holiday in Quebec. There was nobody around to comment on it.

lol. Of course that would be their stance. The solution to this is so obvious it's baffling how it's such an issue to get resolved. If your development team cannot fix the bug in a quick and efficient manner just temporarily disable the offering from being used but still allow it to be collected on the web. Push the anniversary timeline out as many days as it takes to get it fixed. Done.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but why didn't they just clone the party streamers, change the value to 104% (and double check that you didn't make a typo and hit 140....), change the icon, change the sound when collected, and downshift the rarity to common?
Did they accidentally clone the other cake which only gives you points for yourself? Did they really just typo the 104? I'm trying very hard not to be embarrassed

Why start an event the day before a holiday? Don’t they typically avoid doing it on weekends for that same reason @Peanits

I guess it’s because it’s exactly the anniversary, but you would think this would have been bug tested even more than usual if they knew they wouldn’t be able to fix it until 3 days later, lmao

Oooorrrr you could be getting 500% every single game and you’d be able to stockpile even more at a faster rate for when Crossplay is added. If you could get 3 every game from the extra BP youd be getting, you could have double what you have now saved up for when Crossplay is enabled.
don’t buy into the lie of “I’ll just use them later!”. If you were able to use them now you’d be getting more every game and end up with more total after the event.

If they were working, we'd all pretty much be sitting here with an endless loop of using cakes, getting tons of bp, buying more cakes than we used, repeat.
if they just remain broken and nothing really gets extended or compensated, we'll all end up with far fewer offerings and BP, and no real endless loop because the usage will be so scattered and most people won't have that many.
