Hook blocking

Riddle me this: Why is it the killer can only hook someone from a specific spot that can be blocked by a survivor, but the killer can't block a survivor from a hook rescue. Don't get me wrong, face camping is wrong, and they did the right thing by letting survs un-hook from different angles, yet killers can't. So,why do killers once again still get boned? Scenario: gen rushed, chasing survivor to exit and downed them right at the exit. Pick them up and carry to a hook , but a survivor darts past me and blocks said hook. I hit them, then get the stun because the survivor I'm carrying wiggles free, and they BOTH get a free escape.

So you pretty much answered the question for yourself I think and that's how the game used to be if you've been around long enough. There was a point in time where the killer could literally stand in one spot and take a player out of the game and there was nothing you could do about it.

As far as survivors blocking the hook, it's not a free escape and most of the time, unless the entire team takes a hit or you're in a dead zone (which there are few of as far as hooks are concerned), you're going to get the hook anyway.

If they do that, i just roll my eyes and smack them down. They usually run away or if they stay, smack them again

I do feel like if killers have to suffer through having giant hitboxes then collision should favor them. Bodyblocking is such an irritating mechanic that makes no sense to be in the survivor toolbox.

So I'm too big to get through a window as quickly as a survivor, but I can get pushed around by them too?

Just smack them out the way

The problem is they do it when I have to walk to the hook. There very smart, I'll give them that, because they sabo the closest hook, so I have to walk a distance to the next one. By the time you get there, you HAVE to hook, but can't because a surv is crouched right in front of the hook. If you smack the person there, you get the hit, but then the survivor your carrying gets loose, and you get a stun penalty, and both run a mile away. Been having this issue multiple times lately. I've been around since the release of this game on ps4, and I know all about blocking the hook as killer and getting face camped to death. They patched that out so it can't happen anymore a long time ago. But, my q is why haven't they done anything about survs blocking hooks? Killers should be able to hook from multiple angles. Hell, there crouched mostt he time anyway, so why can't I just reach over them?? 🤣😂

I just get really confused trying to figure things out...

But in your OP you didn't say they were saboing hooks.

If their running right with you drop the one your carrying and smack the followers.

Because if a survivor bodyblocks the hook, the killer can hit them. If a killer bodyblocked the unhook spot like in OG facecamping (and the currently possible PH "cage facecamping") that's quite different.

Making saves hard is fine. Situations where even going for the save is the wrong play to begin with is fine. Making it completely impossible to save is in my opinion not fine.

I think hook blocking (survivor side, not killer) is high risk enough to where it makes sense they can do that. It only really works if multiple survivors take a hit usually, and it depends on the distance the killer is walking to a hook. If a killer is trying to get to a hook like 5 feet away then the survivors more than likely aren't going to be able to body block well enough to stop the killer from getting there with enough time for the survivor to wiggle out.

It's not an every match type of thing, but it's a certain team or teams that exploit it, and there really good at it. I forgot to mention the hook sabo, yes. And I don't see or hear them until I'm at the hook. I dunno if they run iron will or what, but I have no clue there even there until I get to the 1st hook and it's sabo'd, then head to the next closest hook and there butt dancing. Maybe comms? I dunno, but it's bs. It's a free getaway at endgame unless your a more powerful killer. I was playing w oni trying to level him up, so yeah. ######### builds. I'm not asking for a buff, but killers should be able to hook from multiple angles, just like survivors can un-hook I'm the same fashion. What's wrong with things being even?

The best thing I can say in that type of situation at the end game is slug. Try to keep track of where everybody is at and when you have the opportunity go for the hook

Question: can survivors still stand behind the killer at a hook and stop them from hooking? I did it ONCE before in like November or December and have never seen it happen in a game since.

Was this fixed or is it still possible?
