Spine Chill is overrated

I’m beginning to believe that Spine Chill is increasingly becoming useless in the game nowadays.

even against stealthy killers like Ghostface, it hardly helps. This is one of the reasons I hate versing Ghostface. Sure it lights up when Ghostface is looking at your direction but you’d still wouldn’t know WHERE he’s looking at you from. Depending on what map you’re playing, Ghostface can still not be in your vision cus he can hide so it leaves you confused as to where he is even though you know he’s supposedly looking at you.

Ghostface is such a bs killer. No Spine Chill does not make Ghostface basic. He needs to be rebuffed

thats just it though, with stealth killers they could come up to you easily with a smack or grab you off the gen if you didnt have spine chill. not to mention when the killer is close you get that extra percentage that can be crucial in helping you like being chased and the extra vault speed comes to help

Nah but even so, Spine chill hardly improves that. Every argument I have about Ghostface being OP people say use Spine Chill then he’s easy. I do use spine chill and it hardly makes a difference. It’s only handy in letting you know that the killer’s looking at you, cool but you won’t know where from

This seems like a subtle way to argue Premonition is better. Spine Chill is easily S-tier with the valuable information it gives.

If you consider spine chill bad because it doesnt help you enough, I would argue you are probably using it wrong, or you just arent paying enough attention to your surroundings even with it. And calling Ghost face op would make most players of this game laugh. Calling him strong would still make a lot laugh. But at least thats closer to the truth. Ghost face is not op, not even close. If GF was op I shudder to think what realm, Freddy, spirit and nurse is in.

It comes down to tour natural awareness for Spinechill to become a great perk. Simply knowing which direction the killer rotates around the gens can make the perk amazing.

    I disagree.

It can give you plenty of info if you know how to use it and increased vault speed.

Spine Chill is pretty much the survivor equivalent of Whispers. Both provide useful information, but require good situational awareness and logical reasoning/predicting to make the most of their abilities. They are only weak when used poorly. Both are also some of the best Universal Perks for each role, respectively.

If anything, I'd argue that Spine Chill should actually get a nerf to be less effective against Undetectable killers (through reducing its activation range against killers with this status).

if it starts flickering that the perk is on then you just gotta be more aware of your surroundings cause most of the times when you look around more carefully you are gonna spot him easier cause you know hes around. also i would disagree, that extra 6 percent if you push the last gen when he comes your way helps a lot or even the same thing with healing ans what not. 6 percent may not seem a lot but it does help during certain situations

Spine chill is one of the most powerful perks for a survivor. Mainly because it gives a survivor almost 8 seconds to respond to them coming. If survivors run away, it can give them a 32 meter head start in a chase if the killer doesn't see them run away. Or, walking at 2.26 m/s, the survivor can walk a little more than 16 meters in that time. can Most stealth killers have the majority of their power built into stealth, and when one perk can basically negate that, it's a bit unfair. So, for you to complain about it, is just insane.

Honestly, if they were to change spine chill, I think it should only work when the killer is within 24-36 meters, or when the killer is within 0-6 meters. That way, survivors still get a notification of the killer being near, and the benefits of the vault speed. But the killer has an opportunity to actually sneak up on the survivor, and really only punishes them if they choose to be cocky.

Spinechill is especially valueable for solo survivors. It can give you an early warning when the killer switches targets to you, it help against spirits as spinechill as it works against her spirit real. You basically can't get gengrabbed and also sometimes it just gives you that little bit of extra speed you need on a gen to finish it before it gets popped or to vault that one window you need (6% increase is nothing to cough at here)

It's a GREAT perk; probably one of the best in a Survivor's arsenal. Like others have mentioned you simply need to look around yourself. Typically, there's only 2 directions the Killer can reasonably approach from. You know he's not beelining it from a wall to your location. He's usually patrolling gens and will usually take the shortest route possible. In most instances it's a 50/50, though sometimes much better due to RNG and certain maps. There only real downside to Spine Chill is that it can give you "false information", or more precisely, "information that isn't relevant" such as the Killer being a floor above or below you (I'm looking at you Midwitch/Gideon). I find it to be one of the most helpful perks available. Is it meta? Not really, but it's damn close.

Stop trolling... Ghostface is an OK killer not a good one. Like Reaver_Raziel said Freddy and Spirit, Nurse are much better.

Nurse: The nurse can patrol gens really easily with her blinks. Yes it is very hard to use as you need to judge how far you want each blink to go but if its used correctly its easily the best killer in the game.

Spirit: Her ability allows her to basically go invisible from the survivors at the cost of her ability to be able to see the survivor. This does make it really difficult and you need to practice with this killer.

Freddy: A great killer at the start of the game to apply pressure to gens with the ablility to teleport to them. Its also a good tactic to bait a survivor off their gen by fake teleporting to the gen.

I think this is more of a **** Ghostface's current state thread than a thread about Spine Chill.

Spine Chill is an awesome perk. If you want info on where killers are coming from, just switch to Premonition or Bond, or just stare at crows in your area really hard.

The fact is that Spine Chill requires map awareness, it can't make up for a lack of it since "all it does" is telling you the killer is pointing at you.
