Gen tapping is viable if killer is nearby and you want to remain silent.

Gen tapping really does squat now, since a killer just needs to listen to gen progression, or have a peek. I can't believe someone gen taps on ruin now! They'd be there for the whole damn round!

Honestly I didn't even find gen tapping to significantly slow down gen progression. Could just be me though

it takes way way longer, 120 seconds was someones estimate I heard before (80 seconds default)
they were letting off of m1 after every generator repair noise, and we couldnt even hear the heartbeat (twas bubba)

What if that Nea had that annoying bug where you can't see skill checks? I'd rather have a player gen tap than do nothing. That's what I do when that bug happens to me.

As Stardust said she could have been and probably was bugged. The only thing you can really do when it happens is tap the gen or take a chance on invisible skillchecks and no thank you on that last one.

Killer main here, but when I play survivor, sometimes I gen tap while eating pizza with my other hand so I dont get skill checks.

EXACTLY. I had the invisible skillchecks bug happen to me yesterday & was forced to gen tap. They really need to patch that bug already...
