Vocabulary question: "Noob"

So hey guys, english is not my main language so sometimes I get confused.

I always thought that noob means beginner, but most times I get called a noob killer after a 4k.

So whats going on with the change of language?

Is noob now something like amazing or pro?

I always thought this community was extremely toxic, maybe I just read it wrong ;)

nah noob will always be slang for "newbie"

Its ironic though, kill 3 let one go "gg thanks so much killer <3"

Kill 4 as clown (last night) "insecure baby killer" not even joking, got that last night. Yeah im playing clown because I am so insecure, correct term is "confident"

Noob usually refers to as bad, so sadly, you were right about the community.

I remember back in the day when "Noobs" were called "Llama's", but not because they were necessarily new to the game, because the plays they made were silly or amateurish. Kinda miss the llama days to be honest, but that was somewhere in the early 2000's when Counter Strike (the original half-life mod) was king, and Tribes, Unreal 3, Team fortress, and Halo 2 were the only main multiplayer competition. The idea behind calling someone a Llama is that llama's are stupid animals, so having a llama on your team meant you had an idiot who didn't know how to play the game right. Of course this was also in the era where "1337 5P34K" was common too, and If you can actually read that or understand it... I sympathize my friend... god I feel old now.

Not saying I agree with this mentality, because I certainly try to go for a 4k every time I play killer but yknow I've not played much killer BUT

I think it has to do with greed, which is seen as like a childish trait? Like somehow when you let one go as opposed to a 4k, it reads as "That dude's a nice one." but then if you get em all, it's like "OH, you JUST GoOOOoOT to have em, eh?? It wouldn't have killed you to spare one!" n people get mad.

    That's just my theory, though.

But is there no ones reflecting his own playstyle?

    got to have em eh?

Never saw a killer be like "you all had to get out eh? couldnt just gift me a kill man"

    Its the same^^
