Fellow ghostface mains/players hit or run? or stalk? or both?

Member Posts: 3,099

Hi, I am currently a ghostface main, and I used to be an Oni main, but he has a terrible bug with him. Do you try stalking as much as possible? Or do a hit and run playstyle. I do a combination of both, when I can stalk I will. The only time I usually pull off the stalk is at the start of the game, which is really good since it gets the ball rolling fast. The rest of the game, I just get an early hit, either down them, or go to a different survivor to hit with sloppy.

I do it all. It’s situational but I don’t know how to describe it.

Always do a hit and run there’s no down side (If you have the correct perks) because if you try to stalk and fail you didn’t get anything out of it. This depends on the situation of course since with certain addons or people aren’t paying attention you can then stalk them for a one hit down so usually hit and run but always good to recognize when you can stalk.

In the beginning if someone's not running spine chill it can be easy to pull off a stalk, and that's why I think ghostface can excel with early game downs. As soon as survivors know it's a gf they're much more vigilant and make it harder for you to stalk so I tend to try to mix it up and approach from odd angles if I'm in need of a quick down. Patience is key with gf, and time for patience is something dbd kinda lacks if I'm tbh.

Stalk for sure, where you can.

If all you do is hit and run with sloppy you might as well just play wraith. I'd say they are somewhat close when no add-ons are involved, but once you start getting into the greens and purples wraith can turn into a hit and run monster where-as ghostface will always be limited by low mobility and a relatively long power cooldown.

Don't pick and chose. You have to use a mix depending on the specific context you find the Survivor in.

I often stalk when they don't see me, and if their stalk meter is above 50% after they snap me out I just wait for the power regen mid-chase and finish it. I can stalk faster than they can snap me out, and the no TR or red stain helps a lot mid-chase. I also run the Chewed pen and the Address book since it helps the most with my plans.

if u have recover addons (both) i dont find any reason to not hit and run, remember that if u get them exposded doesnt mean you are gonna get the hit you still need to get them wich may not happen so in the end you may waste time and not even getting a simple m1 hit.

I do a bit of both. If I see 2 people together I'll stalk with the intent of letting one get away. So I can 99 them and one shot them later. If they are by themselves I just hit them. Landing a hit before they can run away cuts the chase in half.

Bottom line. I stalk if there's more than one. If there's only one I go for the sneak stab.

Both are situational. A good Ghostface will use both tactics effectively. Stalking to 99% and leaving is the exact same thing as injuring someone, except that person doesn't know they're injured yet. Ghostface has insane snowball potential through the use of his stalk mechanic. You can down hook someone and then snap expose the next person you find if you pre-stalked them earlier. If you do stalk, don't expose them too early. It's best to wait until you're right next to them or they've seen you. You don't want to tip them off and give them a head start.

Hit and run, stalking is mostly useless against good survivors

    Hit, hit and teabag.

Stalk. I used to be a GF main and stalking is perhaps the best way to go, if you get really good with him you can end chases faster that iri head huntress.

Hit and run unless i catch anyone on a gen and they haven't noticed me. Also if you get a good looper at pallets, i'll stalk and hit from the bloodlust.

hit n run early game, stalk sometimes mid to late game. Just keep them all injured

I like to "stalk and run", a mix of the two. You 99 someone and then chase someone else so the next time I find the first survivor it's a quick chase.

There's so much spinechill these days that stalking seems counter productive at times..
