Should camping a hooked survivor be a bannable offense?
the killer knocks the first player, goes and hooks him, and then stands right in front of that survivor for the entire duration of the entity being summoned, resulting in death. No one can save him because the killer is right there, not even blocking the unhook action, just not leaving a 10 ft radius of the hooked survivor. Not only is that basically a form of cheating to ensure they get a kill, but it also completely ruins the game. When in any scary movie have you seen a killer catch someone and then just sit and wait.... NEVER. Cuz the movie would suck, just like it makes the game suck.

Thats what happened to me because i was doing the Phead thing around him and i tried to make it perfect and obviously it took so long.

Camping can be a viable strategy during the egc or if you know every one is at the hook.
To ban camping out right would result in a lot of people stop playing killer and queue times would go way up.
If they banned certain types of camping, like the example you gave, it would end up with false bans happening and again, lots of killer quiting.

Reading comments and I can agree with a lot of what yall are saying, but I still think that if you were able to provide proof that the killer was literally just standing in front of you and there is no viable way to save the survivor, it should be a bannable offense. Im all for walking around in view of the hooked survivor but standing there and not giving them a chance is comeplete BS and ruins the game.

No because camping is an opinion. I’m sorry but if you all are around hook you are giving the killer no reason to leave.
It sucks the few times it happens legitimately but I’ve had people call me a camper just for chasing one of their teammates around him since his teammate didn’t want to run away from the hooked person. There’s times it even makes sense to do so and honestly no killer can actually 100% stop an unhook except Leatherface.
I believe a higher incentive for leaving the hook and harsher penalty emblem wise and point wise would greatly help with this. Even for the survivor hooked with points too since they are losing it due to not being saved could help. I think these are what we should focus on to change it but being bannable brings it into the territory Of being banned by someone else’s opinion.

I can recall devs saying infinites recquired to be good for the game and had to stay. That was hurting the game, a lot. Right?

Just make it so that once the killer hooked someone, they instantly get teleported to the other side of the map, even if survivors are close, so they get an EZ unhook.

nope, its a playstyle, although I do believe there should be a mechanic where if the killer is within a 20 meter radius of the hook, the speed of which the suvivor dies should be slowed down

So you're not against soft camping but hard camping? I mean that was gonna be my point since I get called a camper a lot as Freddy since I hook people near incomplete gens and go cross map, when someone get unhooked I chase the guy who wasn't just on hook.

With that logic we should ban tunneling, gen rushing, toxic perks such as ds, unbreakable, adrenaline, noed, haunted grounds, ruin.
Even then everyone will be upset and there would be no point of playing if we get banned for one toxic thing.

no because sometimes there is literally nothing else to do, like the gates are powered or there are multiple survivors around the hook. or the best course of action to pressure the survivors is to camp.

Even if camping is extremely irritating and annoying, it's still a viable strategy that'll just end poorly for the killer. If you're aware your teammate is getting camped, just prioritize gens instead, and the killer should theoretically get a 1k (at most) assuming everyone prioritizes gens over the hooked survivor.

I definitely agree. I think both the terms camping and tunneling can be very subjective depending on the person and what's really camping would just get meshed in with staying near the hook a few seconds too long. Now facecamping, or placing yourself in a way to where you block other survivors from being able to save the hooked survivor (I don't know if this can be done) would be more of an exploit.

Why I voted no ? let me just explain what happened in one of my game next week. I was playing as huntress and when 2 survivors were dead, the 2 others didn't do anything but hiding, holding the game hostage. I EVEN went across the map and came back to see if they were just scared to do gens. This situation lasted for nearly 10 minutes (which is already the average time of my games). Once I finally found a survivor, I camped him because this game was getting ridiculous and really needed to end.
It is also a bad strategy as the killer in general if survivors aren't just trying to unhook. If a killer camp and other survivors do gens, he will be punished and most of the time will depip because of weak emblems in the end.

No how is it cheating is not a exploit its not a bug is not hacking so why should they be banned by securing a kill run perks like bt its a basic perk that all survivors should run that simple and camping will never be a bannable offense no matter how frustrated survivor mains get with how the game goes or how the killer plays it is what it is complaining isnt going to get you anywhere.

No actually other games that have one of there ban descriptions as camping being bannable, just means they want to see how many reports they get on it they dont actually ban the person being reported and if you are referring to cod yeah no they are not going to ban someone for playing the game

Actually the queue time would go up for survivors but go down for killers. If I want to play killer I need to wait about 10-20 min to find a Lobby.
I think maybe not a ban, but the killers should not get rewarded for camping, they often get a pip for such rounds and often end up at a high rank, without any proper skills. It liturally destroys the fun of the game. Especially if you are new to the game, it is pretty likely that you won't play the game anymore, if you get camped and or tunneled, a few games in a row. I even know some old players, that dropped the game, because the camping and tunneling just freaked them out. Because it makes no point of waiting to find a lobby and load in, just to get camped and tunneled of the first hook to die in the first 5 minutes. And yeah sure, people may argue with "While the killer is camping the other ones can do gens", but still this one person who is getting camped and tunneled, has no fun, and the only thing he can do is bash his space bar, so he can get time for the team and afterwards watch the rest of his team having the same fate as he had.
