Dead By Daylight, the worst game I have desperately tried to love.

I recently got Dead By Daylight last February, it was recommended by a good friend of mine. I don't really like multiplayer games but my favorite thriller character: Michael Myers was in it so I gave it a try, I bought the base game on Playstation 4 with Michael and Plague as well.

I soon realised that it wasn't really as fun to play as Killer like those skilled streamers, I am always Rank 12 but I get put against Rank 1s quite often. I tried to play a bit of survivors but I find it kinda boring, I also dislike relying on other players.

I bought a total of 8 DLC chapters and I don't why I am supporting a game I don't really enjoy.

I encounter a different bug everyday, today my Oni's blood furry refused to activate despite me desperately spamming L1 and ofcourse I was against 3 red ranks 2-3 despite being Rank 12 and not that skilled.

I think DBD is overrated and the community is very toxic, all I want to do is delete the game and accept that I wasted so much money on it.

The devs don't really seem to give a ######### about balance and matchmaking as long the bigger side (survivors) are happy.

Should I stop playing and wait until they improve matchmaking or at least nerf overpowered survivor perks?

I mean...if you've been playing since February and still don't like it, there's no use throwing good money (or in this case now, time) after bad.

I personally find the game incredibly enjoyably and I play it constantly. I rarely run into bugs personally so that probably helps my opinion of it but I have found that for every really bad game with toxic #########, I also get a number of really good games. Sure, sometimes they're still toxic ######### in the really good games but plenty of times, I get really good games against really good players and have the time of my life.

Ultimately, it's up to you to determine if the warts on the game outweigh the greatness that the game can give you. But if you've been playing that long and STILL are not enjoying it, I'm not sure what else the game can do to make you change your mind.

EDIT: For reference, I play both sides pretty equally (probably killer gets the slight edge time-wise as I'm a solo player so probably 60/40). I am also Red Ranked on both sides, generally between Ranks 1-3 pending on how many good games versus bad games I can string together...

Survivor side is MUCH easier. You have a 75% chance of winning by simply choosing to play as survivor, I would recommend trying that until you hone your craft. You CAN become a better killer from playing as survivor, it will help you learn what routes survivors may run or actions they may perform. Hope to see you again.

I only play this game very casually, bout 10-15 matches a day. The unfair matchmaking sometimes can make me avoid it for weeks.

I get more toxic survivors and teammates than good ones, I'm not sure what greatness you're talking about. I want the game to be fun for everyone, I don't camp and I don't tunnel. I often give hatches to survivors if it spawns nearby. I bring support perks when I play survivor, I do all I can to make the game fun but the game itself is horribly balanced and has the worst matchmaking I have ever seen in a videogame, I'm not asking to put me against rank 20 noobs but players near my skill level (Rank 8-12)

Btw I have not touched this game since Deathslinger came out and recently redownloaded it to play Pyramid Head who's kinda awesome actually.

FYI the game can do something to make me change my mind, actually improve fundamentally.

This is game I hate to love, but love to hate. Or something like that.
