The devs need to sort out their priorities
I don't want to hate on the devs but they really need to sort out their priorities. The game is in an awful state right now, for example, Ghastly Gateus don't work properly, matchmaking is awful, VPNing killers, Hillbilly and Oni are bugged, lots of sound bugs and the new map is pretty bad for both sides. I know they can't fix everything wrong with the game at once but they really need to do more than small patches here and there. It would be really beneficial to the game if instead of getting a new chapter and new cosmetics they instead fixed everything they could in that 2/3 months. Or they could make it so there was a new chapter every 4 months instead of 3 which would mean they could focus more on bug fixes. But, sadly, I doubt anything will change.

They are releasing a hotfix this week, but yeah, I agree, they are pretty slow and some of their decisions are disappointing.
40 -
New bugs are appearing at a faster rate than the devs can fix. The game still needs a ton of quality of life updates to smoothen and balance gameplay. Also they have to create new chapter every 3 months. And they are currently working at home. Not sure what they can do at this point.
15 -
TL:DR = They do the money is the priority.
8 -
I'd rather see bug fixes only for a year or 2 while they just develop a brand new engine with non-spaghetti code so it's less of a pain in the ass in the future and we don't end up here again.
24 -
@Primalux135 did somebody say new legendary cosmetic?
0 -
Ghastly Gateaus are being fixed in the next hotifx, a new matchmaking system is gradually being tested in some regions, VPNs should become a non-issue with the upcoming server side hit validation, and bug fixes are on the way. As for the new map, while I don't discount your opinion, it is exactly that, an opinion. I've seen a lot of people say that they like that map as well.
Just about everything you've mentioned is being worked on and should be resolved in the near future, some (Gateaus) sooner than others.
37 -
Can you say any more on when we can expect the new MMR? The livestream in May stated that it should be released next month. Since that's not happening in June, could you shed any more light on when it will happen?
5 -
" A lot of people say they like the map " 😂 please tell me where I want to see a unicorn too!
24 -
I appreciate you replying, and I agree just because I don’t like the map it’s whatever I mean I don’t like any indoor maps really.
But you have to see there is a lot of doubt regarding your new matchmaking... I would venture to say the majority of people I forums, streams, and endgame chat all agree that the only thing happening is ranks being hidden so you can all claim “it works.”

Testing has already been happening for a little while now in some regions and platforms. I can't give more details right now, the next steps depend on the outcome of those tests. If everything's successful, we'll be rolling it out to everyone soon. But if it needs some more tweaking before it's ready, we'll take the time to do it properly before pushing it live for everyone.

Thank you for what you all do. I appreciate it!

Seen a lot of people liking new map?
Sure, I saw a lot of people having a blast playing as solo survivor against iridescent head Huntress who also brought an ebony mori, and tunnels people off the hook, slugs all four survivors and moris them when they are about to bleed out.
New map looks great, however gameplay and overall map design layout wise is horrible and completely unfun to play on.
8 -
Come on Peanits, the new map is highly disliked, there will always be contrarians obviously but it objectively poor for gameplay
12 -
I like it.
1 -
When you say poor for gameplay do you mean different gameplay? As a killer I hate how much distance survivors can gain just by dropping and running, as a survivor I struggle to find gems but I do that on all indoors honestly.
I find most of the people not liking it are complaining about how unsafe the pallets are, which I get that takes a lot of the mind games away. But other than that what is so bad?
0 -
thank god they reduced new map appeear.. As everyone says graphic team in this game wow ! cant wait for whole graphic update patch
map layout and balance team.. I really dont want to comment ....
about new MMR of course its bull you have to show people proof of your work, graphs, statistics, metrics. Without them how do we know you are not bluffing and just keeping these changes ? Anf honestly hopefully these tests are not what we see in EU region right now.
Against rank 16 killer full rank 1 group with one friend rank 16 .. So obviously it matches in comparison with lowest survivor rank which is awful bad to do

I think its great. You have to play it a little different. It cracks me up because people complain about the game getting stale, the devs introduce a map that requires you play a little differently and you guys complain about that too
6 -
I hate when survivors bring keys and flashlights...
Tf you're talking about
Jeez, in every post there's a crying surv
0 -
Tell that again if you face players with OoO on that map 👀
6 -
Yeah but thats a pain in the dick on most maps. Its a problem with the perk not the map
1 -
Last week we had a 6 page discussion on the frustrating experience of the game.
6 pages, and not a single dev bothered to comment on the topic.
Guess player experience only matters if you're buying their overpriced cosmetics.
6 -
Eh, im not sure if it was really about "the frustrating experience of the game". To me it seemed more like your average monthly killer outcry.
2 -
Not only slow, but every new update bring out new bugs aswell. They simply can't keep up with it and the bug count keep raising
2 -
Yeah I do to mostly I think it is kinda balance dsince the more gens survivors get done the harder it become for them since only three of them are around the corner
0 -
You have to agree that the new map is the worst map in dead by Daylight. Onky people who like it are die hard silent hill fans or noobs where the map doesn't matter and only by visuals. Every competent player dislikes this map from both sides, even streamers said that
2 -
Consider the "hide MMR" feature. I want to see my MMR and from my opponents. Otherwise I can't evaluate if the system is working as intended.
5 -
Well it would be helpful if you at least had a clue where to go, which floor you are on, and where the gens are. In the other indoor maps you can at least have a clue with the flickering lights, but that's for some reason not the case on this new map
Getting lost and frustrated isn't playing differently. How do you play this map that's different from any other map in the game? Don't do gens but instead do the children's homework assignments that they left in their lockers??
0 -
You have to rely on stealth and tricking the killer way more than looping. And i dont know how you get lost in a giant square. The ONLY change this map needs is stairs in every corner. Thats it.
0 -
Good, but there is one issue not mentioned in this comment. What about the Hillbilly bug that makes him get stuck in walls everytime he hits one?
(Some Oni bug was mentioned by the OP, but this I haven't encountered so far)
About the map... what did some people like about it? Because when it comes to visual appeal, it's my favorite map, but for gameplay, is the one I dislike the most. In other words, I love how it looks but I hate playing on it.

The hell are you on, drop it, as you are 24/7 affected by Oblivious status effect.
Not only you assume stuff out of your poopy hole (I'm not maining any side since late 2017), you also completely misunderstood the analogy. Way to go.
1 -
Lol. The mods on this forum can't even hide their hypocrisy and favouritism, so it's unrealistic to expect the devs to fix bugs that have been the game for over a year now. I just want to be able to use spirit again without having to deal with survivors that have built in ironwill.
6 -
That sucks to go against on any map, new map doesn't make it any worse. 😂
0 -
I like it.

Are you shadow banned or something?

What map has to do about my analogy?
I commented about Peanits' response to how "a lot of people like the new map" is exactly the same as my example, as it has no real backing, general public hates it or "a lot of people" are cherry picked.
0 -
I don't mind it now that I've been playing Doctor more.
It's not quite The Game, but it's still good for a lot of shocks!
0 -
Seemed less an analogy and more a comment of Huntress gameplay on that map.
0 -
I love the new map, yeah it sucks for some killers but for some it's no different than any indoor map and while it can be confusing to navigate as Survivor I enjoy it a lot more than the obnoxious maze that is Hawkins.
1 -
Server side hit validation huh. Oh boy it's gonna be like halo 2 all over again lmao. In all seriousness though this is a really and I mean REALLY bad idea. Gonna be like when dedicated servers first came out, only for all killers and won't ever be fixed. Just imagine a clear hit on someone but you get a big fat pallet to the face and no hit, well that chase just went on for another minute and you just lost 2 more gens. Ggez baby killer!!!!

This should happen only if you have connectivity issues or something related to that. If your internet connection is spot-on it should be normal, if not then you might have some issues because you'll be punished severely...I hope I can fit into the first category otherwise I'm gonna drop killer for good and we might see a lot of people completely quitting killer-side if this happens...
0 -
No, they keep saying it's TBD. They never said what week, it could be the final week, THIS week, next week.
They haven't stated when, but I'm also wishing it's this week. =/

Is there also a fix coming to VPNing survivor, that use it lock killers in pick up or hooking animation?
0 -
I LOVE the new map!

That moment when a dev comments on your post. Happy.
It's a post pointing out their bad decisions. As Tru3 says... Oh shi-
0 -
I'm leaving that here since it fits the topic.
I think there should be an update every monday, even if it's small numbers to change, few tweaks or even a single typo fixed. It would be beneficial for the game, because bugs would be solved more frequently, but also balance-wise.
Doing an update every week would also allow the devs to do small balance changes, like buffing bad perks, nerfing good perks, trying to change the meta and then reverse it if needed. This kind of balance changes would really be a good thing in order to improve the game, because it would be so frequent that if there are any problems, it can be fixed 1 week after.
Then we keep mid-chapter to do major changes to the game like the map changes, rework, etc... I'm not a game developer and I know they have a schedule to follow, but come on, changing a few values every weeks doesn't take that much time.

Add 1-2 months to their chapter development cycles? 85% of the community is in agreement that longer time between DLCs would be worth it for not having a buggy shitshow on each Chapter launch
1 -
I would love a solid 3 months of just constant bug fixes, the different teams could work on bugs and QoL in their own respective departments, I could imagine a solid 3 months where they could fix mmr, put in the new hit scan, balance some things out, optimize console a lot and optimize pc more, and fix a bunch of the killer, survivor, map and other bugs.
Seeing a mid chapter with a massive list of QoL changes and bug fixes would make me wet
1 -
"new map is pretty bad for both sides"
Thats not exactly how it works. A map can only be bad for one side. If it's "bad" for both sides, then its actually a good balanced map. If a killer has just as hard a time to find and chase survivors as survivors have trouble finding gens, then it cancels each other out.
0 -
It's a shame they don't see the light and finally do this. I could care less for a new DLC for a few months. I'd rather see the game get improved overall, rather than have another 20 cosmetics slammed into the game, a killer that will, most likely, break other killers and in turn let a ton of bugs start popping up.

Oh no, they don’t get money, it’s a disaster, since they don’t get money for that 3 months I’m sure that won’t happen sadly
