Devs can we have a clear answer on Legion?

SPOILER

So which is it devs? The written lore of the Legion says everyone joined frank in stabbing the janitor, joey in the back, Julie in the chest, and Frank forcing Susie to stab him in the throat. Yet the legion cutscene completely contradicts this showing julie stabbing in the throat instead of Susie, with Susie and Joey doing absolutely nothing. So which is canon? The cutscene or the written lore?

And while Julie makes the name for the group where in the timetable of the lore would it leave time for Jeff to paint a mural of the legion for their hideout? Considering they broke into the store literally RIGHT after Julie came up with the name. Also who created their current masks? The Entity or them? Its such a retcon of their lore, a glaring contradiction of what's already written. So which is true? The cutscene or the written lore? Or is it both that will be explained why in the future. I want answers pls devs.

What I'm legit wondering now is if Julie is remembering the killing differently than what is actually written. Like in her head she stabbed him in the face without hesitation while what really happened was she was scared in the moment so she closed her eyes when she stabbed him.

Well it's possible that both are true.

After all, we know that DBD takes place in a multiverse - it's an established part of the Observer's lore. So it's possible that the Legion exists in multiple worlds.

In one world their killing transpired as we read, with Julie hesitating, Joey taking part, and Susie being physically forced to by Frank.

In another, it transpired the way we saw. Frank and Julie murdered the guy while Susie freaked out. Also Joey was just there, I guess.

So the Julie we got in the Archives wasn't the Julie we had in-game, but a different Julie from a similar, but slightly different world.

This theory is slightly supported by the idea behind cosmetics being that they're what the characters could of or might have been, rather than actual depictions of them in different outfits. That's how Nurse can be the bag head ghost we all know and love as well as an opera singer who had her heart stolen.

It's either that or it's just a retcon. Honestly, I hope it's just a retcon.

Both your "she misremembered" theory and mine really devalue the lore as a whole.

If the character's memories are the Archive lore regardless of whether it's 'true' or not, the lore is meaningless. It doesn't actually tell us anything definitive.

If everything you can think of is true, then the Archive lore is also meaningless. It means that a bad fanfiction you write while drunk is just as canon as the official lore.
