My plight as a new-ish Killer
When i got DBD 3 weeks agao,i fell in love with it. I baught Michael Mires and Freddy and they were super fun. I enjoyed my matches and i matched against survivors that were my skill level. I had so much fun that i even considered 2 hooks at the end of a game a win and let people go if they were good sports. Though i did have matches where i got my 4 kills and ones where all of them escaped and up until that point i was fine with either. Losing didn't bother me cause i was having fun.
And a week ago without me even noticing i reached rank 12, then the bad stuff started happening.
I still have a long way to go before i am even a good killer but then suddenly I barely get 1 down now before 3 gens are done, and the constant repetition of me losing game after game, then winning once then losing again.
These higher rank players i get matched against are merciless and heavily bullies me throughout my games. It is so infuriating.
This led me to adopt a very toxic camping playstyle which i am not proud off but I can do nothing against skilled survivors who juke me and chase me through loops infinitely and then call me bad over it.
I have been called out on it multiple times, and i tried not do do it. But i started doing it when one time i hooked a guy and left, he immedaitely got unhooked when i turned a corner and i realised. Why the ######### am i leaving a hooked survivor on purpose just to let other survivors rescue him? Just because they say so and don't like it? It is my goal as the killer to secure kills.
And from then, if i play the match and i don't get one don before 3 gens pop, i tunnel one survivor, hook and camp them because i know it is the only kill i'm getting this game. If i do get a game where the survivors are about my skill level, and i can have fun while chasing them and they don't do all the gens under a minute, i play normally. Hell i even make it a point to always give the hatch to some one that would unlock a crown cause i do not want to deny that person's hard work in getting a event exclusive cosmetic.
I'm rank 10 at the moment, and i get matched against red rank 1 survivors with their one rank 18 friend and i get absolutely dominated most of my games.
I loved the game so much when i started but now, i'm willing to wait to july the 13th just for my rank to become lower so that i can play against people of my level again and enjoy this game.
So please, give me any advice for me to take and improve my games. I do not want to continue camping as i know it is unfun, but it is all i can do to even secure 1 kill on my games.

Well, from your post it seems like you don’t want to join the dark side of killers, so you probably don’t want to embrace hooking/camping/tunneling lifestyle. In that case your only option is to improve. How you do that is up to you, you can look at external sources and watch guides on how to recognize and run tiles (aka understanding loops) or you can go by trial by error and just play and eat salt till you accumulate the experience.
Basically, the final key to creating another good killer is building killer confidence. When you want to hover around a hook because it’s strategically your best option or you understood you were facing an altruistic team, then your on the right track. Staying with a hook or tunneling because you are afraid of losing what you just earned or afraid of letting every1 go is that lack of confidence I was talking about.
I struggled and failed for awhile too but when I bought Leatherface and unlocked BBQ n Chilli, I stopped trying to 4K and just started going for the 4 tokens. Once I had that, I’d try my best to kill be regardless of the outcome, I knew I was earning the most BP and that makes me feel good even if they all escape. Small victories that are easier to achieve will make the learning curve more bearable and you can periodically up your challenge until you can 4K every game. Maybe one day you’ll be good enough to start handicapping yourself to have a fun game lol.
anyway good luck, hope you can stick with being a killer. It’s not for the easily frustrated xD

How is "hooking" part of the "dark side" of killers it's literally the only way to y'know...kill.
I mean...EGC and Tombstone I guess but whatever.

Tunneling and camping is pretty much routine at higher ranks. The options for killers are tunnel/camp, snowball, run an OP build, or massively outskill your opponents; since the game is designed around you getting a 2k, not a 4k.
I would go watch some videos on how to run all the loops, as well as some that offer build suggestions (otzdarva's are really good to start). You will need to learn to moonwalk with most killers (maybe not freddy) since holding W after survivors instead of cutting them off wastes far too much time to be feasible. There are a few builds in that game that practically give you free downs after enough time, it's just a matter of if you can afford to use them over slowdown/tracking perks. Enduring / spirit fury and nemesis / play with your food come to mind.
There's only 1-2 killers in the game I go into my rank 1 matches without corrupt intervention on; I would make getting that perk a priority since it buys you extra time at the start of the game. Without it, people literally spawn on generators and you can have 2-3 people working within the first 5 seconds of the game, which means 2+ gens popping in the first minute or two. Run "no one escapes death" until you have it, it's free kills in it's current state.

Also i just want to note that i have only unlocked one single teachable perk. I can only use the built in perks for now. Only teachable i got is Huntress' Lulluby from the shrine of secrets since it looked good

Sorry I meant slugging. Although I don’t care enough to edit it. (Yes I’m not saying it’s not a valid strategy, but leaving a bunch of ppl on the ground, not enjoying the game is dark~)
