COSMETIC SETS: My concern

So with the latest chapter BHVR have introduced the concept of cosmetic sets. In case you don’t know what they are, they are cosmetics that are linked together to create a full outfit, meaning they cannot be mixed or matched. According to the devs the reasoning for introducing this concept is so that it allows them to create more unique outfits where their art team can really go wild and they don’t have to worry about clipping issues. The devs have also stated that they aren’t abandoning customizable cosmetics altogether, but this still leaves me with a big concern...

And that concern is that sets will become too commonplace. I don’t mind sets being a rare occurrence that allows them to create a super unique skin, but I can already see them going overboard with them and making cosmetics sets when they don’t need to be. I mean for example let’s look at the Nea skin that just released today; did that really need to be a set? I feel like it could have easily been separated into three pieces, if they just lowered her pants a little and gave her hood the bunny Feng treatment. I don’t care how cool looking a skin looks, if it had zero customization ability it becomes less interesting to me, and I feel less inclined to buy it.

So i guess im just really hoping that BHVR don’t overdo this. The customization ability of being able to mix and match is the best part about the cosmetics for me personally, and the sets just take away from that completely. As of right now Im not gonna be purchasing any sets unless of course they manage to really really wow me. :/

I really wanted Nea's skin and I would've had no problem spending money on it until I saw that it was set. Legendary skins should be the only type of skins that are sets.

Creating sets has nothing to do with making unique skins as they claim, and is all about making more money. It's literally designed to force you to pay full price for the full 3 piece set that isn't custimisable, instead of letting you choose certain parts for a lower price.

Oh, and there is nothing 'unique' about that set. It looks average.

Yeah that was my issue with Neas cosmetic. It looks cool but it definitely looks like it could be split up with minor adjustments. So it really does feel like they only made it a set to force people to buy the full outfit.
