So Will Nurse Not Be Receiving Any Changes This Year?

The bugs are still there, the (viable, but anti-fun) cooldown is spreading to other killers, and the bugs that HAVE been fixed were the result of something that’s gamebreaking (Keep in mind you can still soft-lock the game by trying to blink immediately after hooking).

No QoL changes? No bug fix for the soft-locking? No abysmal rework changes, despite the fact most people who are active in the forums agree the rework is viable but annoying and trash?

I’m very disappointed so far with the neglect Nurse has received, especially considering other killer reworks are adopting her crappy one.

With how strong she still is, a few bugs aren't gonna ruin the player's experience unlike other unrelated bugs that require faster reaction from the devs. I've played ~50 nurse games in the past few days and I can say that despite the bugs, I still 4ked in more than 45 of them, she's just too strong to care...

It doesn’t matter. The fact is that she has game-breaking bugs, combined with an annoying cooldown regardless of how strong she is. She needs to be looked at further to, at the very least, fix the bugs.

This is hard to believe considering I experience atleast one bug every Nurse game. Servers undercharging my blink, servers shortening my post-blink-lunge, game outright taking my blink ability completely, you name it all. She is just infuritating to play, because you are fighting the game mechanics more than the actual survivors.

Her bugs aren't gamebreaking tho so I don't see the need for quick fixes. Also, the cooldown really isn't that big of a deal once you get used to it, if they don't have dead hard that is...

Nurse is a very strong Killer, but she takes a lot of consistent practice to be good.

Either you main Nurse or you don’t bother playing her at all because you won’t maintain the muscle memory to play her

Muscle memory doesn't go 'poof', it stays for a VERY long time depending on how many times the neuron connections associated with the action have been stimulated (used). The more they're used, the longer they last and the stronger they are. The fact is that, at the moment, she is extremely buggy and boring for new players because of the insane cooldowns you have to face.

Also, not because I think you're questioning it but because others are implying it, I'm a top tier Nurse player. If you need proof of that, I can give.

    yoyoyo Member Posts: 46

I highly doubt you're a top tier nurse player. I am not one even after 3600 hours in the game and ~400hrs in nurse alone. The only top tier nurse players I've ever seen were people with 2000-3000 hrs in nurse alone and only met them in tournaments/ competitive scrims, never in public matches.

Besides, just because someone isn't a top-tier player doesn't mean that they don't have a say and cannot have valid concerns about the state of Nurse.

Given her current usage and kill rates, she's been effectively nerfed out of the game - Unfortunately, that is where most people are content to see her stay.

The devs would rather have underpowered killers than killers that are able to go toe-to-toe with SWF teams.

I never said your opinion is irrelevant or you can't have concerns about her, I said what I said because I highly doubt that you're a top tier nurse as you think. I watched through a few matches of a VOD and all I've seen is you stomp pub bots and that's just it... you can't consider yourself that when you've never even played against competitive players in a private environment..

She's really frustrating to play. But I think the devs have probably noticed by now. At least I hope so.

Lmao, sure. I can't consider myself a top-tier Nurse player because I don't like to participate in unofficial tournaments, let alone the official one (that was a total disaster). You must be extremely entitled to think that, and I have NEVER called someone entitled unironically before on this forum.

    1. I don't use add-ons at all.
    2. I play against top-tier players because I hardly ever go down to rank 2.
    3. Most survivors I play against are in a coordinated SWF.

Well look at that, he's talking about game-breaking bugs here.

Tell me, wise man, how do you get good from preventing your from losing your second blink?

How do you bypass the huge deadzone in new map by get good?

There are lots of bugs like this which makes her literally unplayable

I mean, you consider yourself a top tier nurse just because you stomp casual players (keep in mind that the average DBD player is reaally ######### bad) with prob under 1000 hours of game/ killer experience. I also don't use addons, never derank and play against high SWF and have a 95%+ win rate but as soon as I'd go against my ex comp team, i'd get stomped since that's where the actual good players are and that's where you find out your actual skills.

I just think that you have to be really closed minded and entitled if you'd consider yourself a top tier in these circumstances of yours

And what percentage of players play in unofficial tournaments, have the spare time to do so, want to compete against coordinated teams in a game where skilled coordinated teams have an extreme amount of power, or simply wants to? Just because I don't compete against people in tournaments does NOT in ANY WAY make me worse than someone who does, nor does it mean that I overestimate my skill because I don't dedicate my time in this game to playing tournaments that I don't wish to compete in. Most people I play against have more than 1000 hours in this game, and I know that because I like to see during the endgame tally screen.

You're entitled to your own opinion, but stop pushing the idea of only being top-tier if you compete in tournaments onto me just because I believe I am top-tier. As well as that, stop trying to get the thread off-topic just because you think so.

I'm so good at Nurse that when I hit a survivor, my Nurse did the wipe animation, then fatigued.

(And yes, that bug still exists.)

  • RockoRango
    RockoRango Member Posts: 554

Huh? I thought that was patched a LONG time ago. I haven't experienced that in ages.

Not unplayable, but barely if survivors know to go in broken areas of the map and loop around them.

    My favorite bugs are:

    • Not being able to blink a second time
    • Soft-locking the game by getting a survivor stuck on the hook
    • Teleporting back to where I blinked from
    • Random whiffs when I should've gotten a hit
    • Random hits when I should've gotten a whiff

I'm just saying that you think you're top tier because if you've never seen actual good nurse players( which are extremely rarely being seen in pubs), you're thinking of yourself higher than you actually are, you're mid tier at best and so am I even if we both have hundreds of hours of nurse experience alone.

  • RockoRango
    RockoRango Member Posts: 554

Um... I've been playing since before the Nurse released, of course I've seen actual good Nurse players. I've played against them, and watched tournaments with them (as she was the only killer people would play). As well as that, I already mentioned the official tournament, which I watched. You saying I'm mid-tier because you watched two matches of me and assuming the amount of hours that I have in Nurse is extremely dumb, and implying I can't be anywhere near the amount of skill a good Nurse player has unless I participate in tournaments is bogus.

I won't be responding to your next comment, because that's not the topic of this thread.

  • yoyoyo
    yoyoyo Member Posts: 46

I never implied that "you can never be anywhere near the amount of skill a good nurse has unless you participate in tournaments". I said you can't be aware of actual good nurses if you never see/ play against them. And its honestly hypocritical to think that you're a toptier nurse with 1k hours in game from what I've seen when there are comp nurses with 2-3k hrs in her alone constantly playing and practicing at the highest possible level.

This should be the end of it.

  • RockoRango
    RockoRango Member Posts: 554

Anyways, ignoring the person actively trying to prove that I'm not a good Nurse player by fact of tournaments and hours...

I'm surprised that devs have responded to many of the threads about Hillbilly, but refuse to respond to ANY of the threads regarding Nurse. In fact, from what I've seen, when someone mentions Nurse they either bail out or dodge around it. C'mon... Really? Do you have to be that way, ignoring anyone who DARES mention Nurse when she is obviously in a broken state atm? It seems hypocritical to me, considering that they'll add something similar to her cooldown without anyone asking and then ignore anyone pointing out the similarities.

  • LordRegal
    LordRegal Member Posts: 1,549

I'll be honest, the hours argument has always seemed ridiculous to me, but claiming you can't call yourself a good nurse without playing in tournaments...that's a new level of "extremely high bar that's completely irrelevant." That's not even saying you need to be in red ranks to have an opinion (which I also disagree with)...that's saying 99.9% of the playerbase isn't allowed to have an opinion because they don't play in unofficial tournaments.

  • RockoRango
    RockoRango Member Posts: 554

Mhm. As well as that, hours have never determined how good someone is (to an extent), or how long they've been playing the game for that matter. Someone could have playing DBD since 2016, have legacy, be rank 1, and have less than 1000 hours in the game.

I took massive breaks because of the past game-breaking updates, such as the lunar event. It doesn't mean that I'm any less skilled, and neither does not being the .01% that participate in tournaments.

As always, we will not be getting a dev response from this.

Why does she lose her second blink? - Nothing.

What causes dead zones? - Nothing.

Will you be updating servers? Or having server maintenance because she's the most affected by her blinks. - Nothing.

    Just nothing.

Which is why I’m frustrated at the dev’s lack of response more than anything. Literally no response- it’s almost like they WERE trying to alienate Nurse players, or they don’t want to put the time in it.
