Excessive cleansing actually hurts Plague
I'm noticing a trend where survivors are mismanaging their infection and rapidly cleansing to the point that I can't possibly keep my Corrupt Purge up before I lose my available fountains and gain a single cycle of my power. This is extremely detrimental to the killer and punishes you for playing her well.
If I do a good job of spreading the infection and applying pressure to the point that survivors run out of fountains to cleanse in, I shouldn't LOSE multiple fountains to gain a single one. I didn't mismanage the infection. The survivors did. I'm being punished for playing well, and the survivors are being rewarded for no discernible reason. Instead of having to deal with Corrupt Purge for the rest of the game, they instead have all the fountains reset. That's insane and abuse-able by coordinated teams, as I've seen many times. Like I said, if I'm able to spread the Vile Purge and apply pressure to the point that survivors over-cleanse with 3 gens left, why am I, the killer, being punished for that? Is it really reasonable to take away every single one of my fountains and give me one? Why not take away one and automatically give me one?

Did you know that you can collect corrupt purge from fountains even when corrupt purge is active? It resets the timer, and wastes a fountain. But, it's better than having all of the fountains reset.
So the next time they start doing that to you, just run around and collect a few fountains. I tend to keep track of how many have been cleansed, and when it reaches a certain percentage of fountains cleansed, every time they cleanse I will grab one so there's always at least 3 open.

I've tried. I've had a couple instances where survivors made a coordinated effort to blast the fountains after a couple gens to completely reset them. I might just grab 3 at once and try that out. Because it's happening to me pretty concsstently now that I've become good at overwhelming them early with her.

why, yes. I'm glad you've joined the club of realizing that The Plague is badly designed on many fronts.

I mean, you can do better managing if they're cleansing and you're not getting anything out of it; a) you should be claiming Corruption whenever you can. b) gens, pallets and vaults should be getting infected too, so even if they do cleanse, you're not getting too hurt by being forced into Corruption (if you do) because they aren't on gens right away, not to mention they may reinfefect off of it due to impatience. c) max infected survivors should typicall always be the one on hook when you're not corrupted.

As someone that plays plague here's how you deal with it:
At any given moment there are some number of infected Survivors and some number of corrupted fountains. In total there are 7 fountains so if all 7 are cleansed at then the reset occurs.
If all 4 Survivors are infected then they can each corrupt one fountain. They cannot corrupt more than one since only infected Survivors may cleanse themselves.
So all you have to do is make sure that if there are ever 3 or more corrupt fountains, you stop infecting Survivors and activate your corrupt purge. Keep doing this until you have exactly 2 corrupt fountains and then resume infecting the Survivors like normal until they cleanse again.
If they keep this up too often then you should get enough corrupt time in order to simply Kill them all. If you are unable to do this then you need to work on your aim most likely since corrupt purge is powerful enough to pull it off.

You can say this is a balance problem either way. But that should at least act as a workaround for the issue.
