I've read about the changes coming to Hillbilly. From what I heard from people freaking out here, they completely ruined the poor guy. However...
You guys are overreacting, it's just a dang overheat mechanic. It doesn't overheat fast, it doesn't kick you out of a sprint, it cools down faster if it overheats completely.
Please, tell me why this is a huge nerf. I'd love to hear it.

I agree with you.
I think it's because they can't feather for 30+ seconds (If you need that much time to make a move, you're not a good BIlly player), lockdown gates, and m2 the entire match.
It's the same as nurse, it punishes the misuse of the power, forcing you to manage your meter (trust me, this change will make you a better Billy player). In fact, I think this will make more better Billys than worse Billys. You will need a few matches/days to get used to it, but you will be much better than before the update.

I've heard it's a massive cooldown. I won't say the exact number because I don't want to out anyone. There's nothing minimal about this overheat mechanic. We weren't overreacting about Nurse. They broke her, her pick rate plummeted, and now it's pretty much company policy to not acknowledge her existence despite the massive list of unique bugs. We've seen this movie before.

Well, from what I've read, it doesn't sound as bad as the Nurse's nerfs. But we'll have to try it out before anyone can be sure. The Devs said that they were happy with him, so I really doubt it'll be that bad. But hey, I've been proven wrong before.

They said in the update that they are happy with where he currently stands, and then talk about nerfing his base kit.

They sure did. The gist of what they said was they were doing it to force you to manage the power more. I really doubt this'll ######### him up, but go off I guess.

It doesn’t matter whether or not it ######### up billy, it still adds an unnecessary and annoying cooldown. If Billy is in a good spot right now, why add a cooldown that either does nothing but be annoying or hurts him on loops?

Every change ever mentioned which is seen to make something in the game weaker has been met with the same reaction.
It doesnt matter if there is a valid reason (MoM), the plans for the future or recent changes if its a change to what they like using.

The devs didn't do anything with Nurse when she got nerfed despite the mass of PTB feedback telling them otherwise. I'm very disinclined to believe that they'll reverse course on Billy at all.
Say he's performing as they want in one breath and objectively nerf him the next, BHVR's logic jumps never ceases to amaze me.

Guys, this nurse nerf is going to suck. You're punishing her for no reason and it's going to make her horrible to play.... Omg, just try it on the ptb, you will get used to it.... No one plays nurse now.
Guys, this ruin nerf is bullcrap, if it's used by 80% of the people, it's for a reason. The new one isn't strong enough to be a hex perk and it's going to force killers to play like scumbags.... Omg, it's not even out yet, just give it a try, and you might be surprised..... It's a crap perk that's not even worth cleansing, which has forced killers to one hook mori, slug, tunnel, and camp in order to get kills.
You don't have to wait to know a change is going to suck. If you keep nerfing killers for no reason, every freaking game is going to be a Freddy or doctor.

They said they were happy "for the most part", not totally. Now, what they were not happy about, I have no idea. But they didn't say that Billy was completely fine.

Yes, and Nurse was just going to be an addon pass, and a light breath on her actual power.
It's not unreasonable for killers to expect this "barely noticeable" change to be slightly more noticeable than BHVR claims at the moment.
