Buying individual pieces of discounted outfits?

With the summer sale, I was planning on buying the pants of Zarina’s Guerilla Filmmaker and the shades and jacket of Steve’s This-is-not-happening outfit, but the pieces of the outfit aren’t discounted as well? I could’ve sworn that’s how it used to be...

Nope, it never used to be like that
And depending on the discount (example on the Jeff skin) it's actually cheaper to buy the whole outfit (300 cells) than a single piece of it (400 cells) which is rather ironic.
