theyre not reverting the billy changes LOL
Despite the hate, the criticism, the feedback on the ptb and likely the player satisfaction survey thats soon to come following this gutting, theyve already spent money on making sounds for his overheat mechanic. Meaning this is likely set in stone and will never be looked at again because "we did it guys". Another one in the books of boring killers to play. Billy will now have to run around the map staring at a cool down bar. while survivors do gens on the opposite side of the map. Watched true play yesterday with an ultra rare add on and a very rare add on in the same game and he just barely one due to survivor error. Nothing he did couldve decided anything while his cooldown was on, and it was frankly boring to watch. Im sorry devs, but you dont know what youre doing lol

I still want them to revert it, but I'm fine with all the sounds and the animations staying, even if it's gratuitous.

I'm just gonna remind you about the Nurse nerf,and Ruin nerf, and how they basically ignored any feedback and pushed it forward.
Also there is already PTB gameplay up, and it shows that Billy get a massive nerf, and is practically worse than the pre-reworked Bubba.
Streamers like ScottJune, Otz, Aryun, etc. were pretty pissed and/or confused about this change due to the fact the only broken thing was insta-saw, which could be fixed easily by either removing Carburretors Tuning Guide, or making it so decrease charge add ons don't stack.

They don't have to completely scrap it. All they need to do is tweak the numbers to not feel so bad.

Because, again, most of the feedback surrounding Nurse and Ruin did not consist of actual feedback, just petitions to remove the changes.

That sounds like feedback to me to be honest. Sometimes especially in game development the answer is don't. New nurse is pretty ass to play. New ruin is good though, never experienced old ruin

history repeats itself lil guy. I remember just a few days ago people were saying wait till the PTB. Now look at you, you were probably one of them. These guys have a track record of making changes that are bad for the health of the game yet you guys are blind. The PTB is simply a glorified free bug test.

Can we please finally stop using True as a reverence for "good killers"? Especially when its about Hillbilly. I dont want to be rude and no offense to anybody but he is not a fantastic killer and especially not a good hillbilly. If he looses its very likely because he was just playing bad, at least what i have seen from him. Sorry but that has to be said if we bring "pro dbd players" to back up arguments.Here is a prime example, just watch that video and you understand what i mean.

Actually there was a ton of Feedback, the Nurse "Rework" had a ton of negative feedback from Nurse mains and a good amount of players expressing what was wrong with changing the basekit. Ruin was the same except most killers and some survivors expressed what would happen when Ruin got nerfed, saying it was a bad time as gens were too fast.
Also petitions to revert the changes does constitute as feedback, you realize there are such things as negative feedback right? Its not only just positive feedback.

Well Tru3 isn't baised towards Billy, from my interactions with him on stream when asked about Billy year's prior to this PTB he always said Billy was overated and he came off as if he really disliked Billy in general so it's safe to say he's not a fan of Billy.Anything Tru3talent says can be taken as good criticism since he's never really liked Billy in the first place and has played this game since Beta. You can dislike, hate or like him but fact of the matter is he's a veteran player and the opinion of veteran players who play both sides should be taken with high consideration before giving the go on these changes.

I like how you call a minor nerf a "gutting." I'm a billy main and I think it was a good change. It actually takes skill to play him now.

yes, the overheating mechanic is going to be a thing.
that doesnt mean it was "set in stone" or "never to be looked at again". the different values can very much change and in the end might get nerfed to a level where the chainsaws overheat is something you rarely ever encounter, unless you literally hold your chainsaw up for extended periodes of time (like 30 seconds or so)
personally i dont think id have much of a problem with the overheating mechanic if it took much longer to take effect, so it only really punished billies who tried to facecamp someone with their chainsaw at 99%.

i actually never said true was a good killer. I actually disagree with a lot of things he believes. IE wraith and pig being underrated, Noed being used as a crutch and is easy mode to win games on the spot. All i said was that i watched him play with an ultra rare and a very rare add on and struggle

to be fair though, the man is using brutal strength and fire up on a hillbilly and causing chaos. I never watch true anymore because he talks up his opponents and makes them sound like every move they make was calculated and something out of a fighting game. He talks dbd up to be this ultra competitive game that can be strategized to a top % of survivors. Its eye rolling to be honest

not a killer main friend. I just call BS when i see it. Im not even a billy main but the sheer fact that he got the nerf that didnt need to happen to his base power just makes me not want to even touch him when i get the urge. Kinda like nurse. Remember freddy nerfs? happened no matter what the community said. it took them how many years to change him to be more fun for survivors? and now look at him, hes probably next on the chopping block by the amount of hate he gets on these forums

I never said you were a killer main I'm just wondering why they still play this game it also happened to nurse and ruin not to mention when they nerfed freddy and oni out of the blue in a hotfix when oni was new they reverted it later but it still happened. Both sides will get shafted but killers will more frequently than survivors I think spirit will get the bat again then clown in his rework will have his good add-ons removed

As long as you keep playing, then yes it will be live. I don't think they care how much outcry there is, because greed is their driving force. If there's no killers playing, then there is no game and the game suffers. Play survivor or not at all if you want real change.

We were already stomping on pre nerfed billys very often. You think you stand a chance with this basekit nerf and no addons to compensate mistakes?

It's not only that it's a nerf but it's a very lazy nerf. Any sort of hard-lock from using your powers or a stun is just stupid imo especially in a time based game ike dbd and they keep adding it into the game.

And also, billy got really boring for me same for all my other mains( wraith, pig,clown, and daddy Myers) when something is too easy to win with, it gets boring. Billy was by far my favorite main as he was a bit of a challenge to learn. I just hope that the nerf will make him funner and harder to play. It didn't seem like another nurse nerf, just saying.

The overheat mecanic is fine the problem is the addon take live billy for example base kit he is not that great but put some addon and you have a drifting billy or instant saw billy that make him amazing. Now take the ptb billy put is best addon and you got something that horrible and weaker than live billy whitout any addon

It's been said many times before that if Billy was released today he would be made with a cooldown. The cooldown makes sense to stop those 4 slugged at 5 gens games and brings him into line with other killers.
Once this is in place, the numbers can be tweaked and one day, Billy will be the most balanced killer in the game.

Hes a survivor main probably hasnt touched billy once in his life and just hates any killer that can traverse the map and kill him.

There are easily more examples of devs not listening to feedback than doing so. On top of that when have devs ever reverted a change? Not once, not a single time have they gone back on something they changed. They may tweak it a bit, but never will they revert things as the majority of players are screaming at the top of their lungs for them to do.
Here's what the devs are thinking: "We put work into this change, made some visuals, reprogrammed some stuff, we'd rather burn in a fire than undo our precious hard work!" And they WILL push this ######### overheat mechanic through with all these useless add-ons, turning Billy into boring trash.

those are niche scenarios that dont justify a power nerf. Tweak the add ons, leave the power. There are so many perks that counter slugging anyways now. If you lose to slugging billy you kind of deserve it lol!

Seriously, if Billy has 4 slugs then he deserves to win that game. Unfortunately for you, playing survivor is a team effort and you run the risk of it going badly if your team is bad. It doesn't justify a Billy nerf (who is literally one of the most balanced killers). Sit on a gen or something instead of hiding near him to try some fancy flashlight save or whatever and slugging won't work. Or use Unbreakable.
