Deerstalker Buff Idea

Just a quick thought I had after playing around with the new version of Knockout. Deerstalker should also have an additional effect of the survivor recovering 10/15/20% slower while in the dying state. Knockout was given a buff in that the downed survivor is 50% slower for 15 seconds & they get the blindness status effect, but nerfed in that it must be from a basic attack. I think a small buff like this to Deerstalker would make these 2 a deadly combo. Even combine Deerstalker with Coulrophobia to make a slugged survivor a bit of a risk to save. And if you think this just promotes a cheap slug tactic thats hard to counter as survivor, all the survivor needs is Soul Guard or Unbreakable. Those 2 perks are solid counters, as well as insta-heal syringes or Botany Knowledge from healers. Just a thought.

    I don't think you can cout "insta-heal" syringes as insta heal anymore, it takes 16 seconds and the time is affected by perks, so the 20% slowdown would make it extremely long.

    My idea wouldn't slow down healing speed. It would slow down recovery speed. "Instaheal" syringe would still only take 16 secs. Plus I think the syringe is technically immune to the effects of anything that slows down healing, like Coulrophobia.

  • Any possible buff for Deerstalker should include more range, but Deerstalker is already really good.

    It allows you to counter any moving slugged survivor, its a corner stone of most slugbuilds.

    I agree that it would be cool if it had more effect, but this one is strong and highly used.

    Perhaps if BHVR decides to deepen Slugging Gameplay.

    I would argue against Deerstalker being used a lot & powerful. Don't get me wrong its not a bad perk by any means, but I honestly rarely see anyone use it even in slugging builds.

    We need BHVR to chime in on actual usage numbers.

    Don't make perks mutli use if not necessary. If deerstalker needs a buff, it's gonna be more range. I think the perks balance is fine though, it already can save a slugging killer a lot of time.

    Do some research please. If you just read the description you would find out that: "The time required can be modified by Perks and Add-ons that affect Healing speeds."

    Increase the range, make the intensity of auras of Deerstalker indicate the recovery status, and show survivors that heal slugs. This would make it actually useful in slugs builds in my opinion.

    Didn't know that was a thing for syringes, but if you also read what you quoted you would notice it says healing speeds (not recovery speed). So still the idea I had for buffing the perk has no correlation with slowing down syringes whatsoever.
