Bloodlust is slowly becoming outdated and needs to go
As majority remembers, bloodlust got added to the game 2016/2017 to band-aid fix terrible map design and insanely strong tiles.
But slowly, bhvr is reworking and creating more and more maps with very short unsafe loops. Bloodlust is slowly becoming outdated and on those maps it's just overkill.
I'm wondering IF and WHEN we will see bloodlust nerfed or even removed. Waiting till the last map is reworked is certainly to long, it might take years.

id say when a majority of maps get fixed is when it can go- many loops are still awful without bloodlust (especially when survivors can combo shack into a long wall jungle gym like ew).

I don't feel like its that big a problem considering it takes a while to start up. Short and unsafe loops getting even shorter and unsafe with the length of the chase makes sense to me.

Bloodlust should've been removed since they implemented breakable walls.
4 -
It's awkward because I'm pretty sure there are still maps where bloodlust is basically necessary, but the number of maps where bloodlust is OP is steadily rising. Hopefully we'll reach a point where Bloodlust is no longer necessary on the vast majority of maps.

To me it doesn't make sense that a killer gets handhondeld in an already winnable chase. The worse player shouldn't went out winning the chase.

Uhh, Bloodlust is used to confirm that eventually the survivor will go down or get hit, and removing it will bring a spike out of killers that are strong inside and outside of the chase, I.E killers like HillBilly, Nurse, Demogorgon, etc just so they can apply pressure to generators faster or even purposely exit a chase. And reworked maps still have powerful loops, just the extremely powerful ones are gone. Along with what I said, indoor maps will definitely bring issues as these maps usually have alot of vaults (Lérys and Midwich) which will indeed require the killer to have BloodLust to catch up to the survivor faster so they can defend generators

I believe i saw a comment a short bit ago where they confirmed there are no bloodlust changes anytime soon.
So its here to stay for a while.
But on topic with newer maps, i feel bloodlust is still very necessary. Just look at every map besides hawkins and some versions of springfield. You can find spots scattered across most if not all of them where you will be forced to get bloodlust before hitting a survivor.
And i also feel that bloodlust is a decent soft counter to exhaustion perks aside from dead hard.
And honestly even hawkins is safe at times if the survivors know what they are doing. If you ignore pallets for too long you'll wind up realising you're in a pseudo infinite and start being forced to break pallets and eat pallets for days. You really shouldnt even be in bloodlust either because you will be breaking pallets a lot. And when you are in bloodlust, just think of how badly it will be if you never had bloodlust.
Personally i feel bloodlust aint as busted as people make it out to be, especially when you should eventually end up on a hook if the killer wants you on a hook.

Thats fair, I just see it more so as a balancing act to keep the game interesting. I don't think it should be deleted entirely, but some tweaks would be nice.

Depending on which killer you're playing, Bloodlust can be a good indicator of when you've been in a chase too long and need to either drop it or down the survivor already.

I personally down survivors just fine without bloodlust. Bloodlust 1 rarely kicks in before I land a hit and I can't even remember the last time saw BL 3 on my screen. Simply because I'm good at chasing down survivors, even as an simple M1 killer.
Those who can't shouldn't get handhondeld. After all the map reworks it has a similar vibe to me like old MoM

So they have added breakable walls in 2 maps of 35 and you say they have to remove bloodlust...
You really have to be very bad to think that Bloodlust is op / has to be removed.
5 -
It's super easy to break chase by losing line of sight without actually losing the killer, thus resetting the timer for bloodlust.. It's perfectly fine the way it is.
And as malatruse said.. if you've been chasing someone long enough for bloodlust to trigger,, especially bloodlust 2 and 3.. maybe you need to chase someone else because you're going to get generators done left and right.

Outdated??? Ha. Sounds like a true survivor main. Its not just about catching up to a survivor, its about ending a chase quick to get to a gen. Plus a pallet knocks him out of BL anyways. Infinites were a horrible thing. Every survivor main now is gonna say "A smart killer wouldnt chase for too long" then you have no knocks, no hooks and still 5 gens getting done because of how quick you can get a gen done especially with the buff to Prove Thy Self. How about this then, take bloodlust out and add a feature that makes the survivor exhausted over time for holding doen the sprint button for to long. Take away sprint burst cause its "Outdated" also say bye bye to Dead Hard because its also "outdated". Before everybody goes off saying im a killer main, im not I am a 50/50 player lever 4 Survivor and a Lvl 5 killer well before rank reset today. Ive played this game for 4 years and it gets worse and worse evrey year with its balancing updates. Not every loop should be safe. Its called skill

Some loops are still infinite loops in the game against 110% speed killers if they didn't have blood lust.
Also part of point of the game is that you WILL go down as a survivor and its your job to stall for as long as possible to help your team win.

On some maps survivors can waste so much time just by holding W. I’m fine with bloodlust 1 but yeah I don’t think tiers 2 and especially 3 are needed.

When they fix most of the maps. Bloodlust can go.

With short unsafe loops their not going to hit bloodlust anyway. Their either going to hit the pallermt or hit you. I tested this the other day in a match. Hitting bloodlust 3 is nearly impossible on loops if theyre abke to continually break sight. Its stupid rare to hit bl 1 either. Even when you do a pallets about to drop making you lose it. So why complain?

Sure, I'm a survivor main who is asking to not nerf Billy. Makes so sense. Check my post history before making such a stupid claim

110 killers are not M1 killers. They are 110 for a reason. They should use their m2 to stop a chase.

if corn maps didnt exist would be a good idea, sadly is not the case.
0 -
Not always possible as there are loops on handon field that the huntress can't realistically use her hatchets(Such as 2nd story/car house fall vaults) to try to stop and are infinites if not for blood lust.

What are you talking about??????? Your main post is a cry baby survivor mad because he tries to loop the same area but cant. When did I bring up Billy or you in the main post.
I certainly dont see anything about Billy in here!!!!!!!! Do you?????????

Loops are deeply unfun and bloodlust helps to shorten that.
I'd much rather make more survivor options to break line of sight and hide.
Like adding something like smoke bombs or
chase escapes that require lots of set up and take you to different parts of the map the killer cant follow
Would you rather be a scooby doo monster or something people try to get away from at all costs

The only argument for bloodlust staying in the game is that there are very unlucky tile spawns where shack is placed next to a long wall jungle gym.
Unless they actually figure out how to play the game and have their map generation system not put strong tiles together, bloodlust will stay and allow killers to hit you no matter how good you are/how terrible the killer is.

As soon as they make it so if a survivor just holds W after they get hit and it takes less than 25 seconds to catch up to them? Then yeah, then you can remove bloodlust.
0 -
I don't know. I'd say just try to force them to break a pallet or use their power to make them lose it. Though I get the frustration. Got bloodlusted by a hag, but I could've just gone to a pallet but the windows were too tempting.

Bloodlust is a require mechanic in this game, it's like killers asking to remove windows that survivors can vault, it's that important sometimes. Sure some killers don't need it, but the vast majority of killers are M1 killers and they do need a way to catch up.
1 -
Just don't run circles around pallets.
0 -
huntress often loses chase on haddonfield so bloodlust doesn't always work for her there, best thing is to stop chasing and look for someone else.
0 -
Never said it was OP. Just like what the post said, its outdated and should just be removed. When these infinite changes rolled out, bloodlust finally became useless. Most of the time you won't even need it in your chases anyway.
0 -
It takes 15 seconds to even activate tier 1. Its fine. they should fix their tile placement and make it less RNG. Then they can touch bloodlust again
1 -
I don't think I've ever gotten to BL 2 or 3 without purposefully getting to it at a super safe loop when the last survivor is looping it. Mostly just because I find it funny. Usually BL 1 kicks in right as I'm about to smack someone so it pretty much does nothing. I straight up don't notice it come into play when I'm survivor either, so I don't see it being some kind of problem.
Until the maps are actually fixed, I don't see an issue with it existing.
2 -
Devs already stated that they don't wanna completely remove bloodlust. They can always adjusted it, but for it's a feature.

Get rid of bloodlust during chase and give killers bloodlust 3 outside of chase/while traversing the map. 👌
0 -
Bloodlust is stupidly weak lol. If the killer reaches Bloodlust 3, a generator has already popped assuming you have competent teammates. Bloodlust also completely resets if the killer breaks a pallet, so just drop the pallet on them.
0 -
Yet there's only TWO maps in the game that have breakable walls atm. Even with that, BWs don't weaken the strength of a loop as much as people think. It just creates new loops depending on the setup, or unlocking new doors to pass through.
0 -
When did you get banned? :(
0 -
Really? Bloodlust doesn't even do anything for you most of the time. You'll have caught up to the survivor by the time it procks anyway. It is sad though that at bloodlust 3, medium sized loops are still completely safe if you don't break the pallet.
0 -
We're really taking that angle right now? "Looped for 60 seconds at a god loop? Must be a bad killer." No, it means loops shouldn't be that strong. Not every loop is mindgameable so that the killer can hit you within 10 seconds every time. Blood lust hardly even does anything for killer. By the time he gets it, he's wasted way too much time anyway.
