What's your favorite "surveillance" style killer perk and why?

Personally I love Spies from the Shadows. It's so over powered and no one talks about it. Constant information on where survivors are because:

1. who really expects you to use it? No one.

2. How often do you see survivors crouch around the whole map especially when killer is near? I like it more than bbq

    • Surveillance - I know which gen is being worked on, amazing especially in end game.
    • Thrilling - Kinda the same thing as Surveillance, I know which gen is being worked on and it blocks gens.

Edit: crap, forgot to add why so I edited my post.

I never had a problem with SMM as survivor because I almost always have spine chill on. That perk saves me more than DS ever has lol

Clearly surveillance lol. I like to dedicate the entire build to surveillance for it's perfect info. Bad by itself but great with synergy.

Surveillance honestly it's really nice to be able to detect where people are and if they decide to touch the gen and it's synergises amazingly with surge or ruin.

    B&C.

I always get an Aura, and that's enough for me.

Spies for sure! A while back someone asked me why I preferred Spies over Whispers on a thread about “controversial opinions.” He said he liked my response and was inspired to try Spies again! That said, I’d like to re-post that response here. 😁

I’m happy to answer why I like the Spies perk! (And before I start, I’m typing in a mildly-amused mindset. Not argumentative, as things can be lost in text 😋)

First, just from what I’ve read on the forums, Whispers seems to be far more popular than Spies, which I why I posted about it on this thread. I’ve tried Whispers a few times, but could never get much value from it. Prolly just my play style, but Spies works so much better for me!

    I like Spies because:

    • It helps you pinpoint where survivors are (as opposed to Whispers which just gives you an area to search in.)
    • If they mindgame you and run off in a different direction from where you’re looking, the birds can redirect you.
    • If they run through a bunch of birds, it’s almost as good as seeing auras as you can literally watch the progression of their movements.
    • Survivors don’t seem to even realize or care that they’re scaring crows most of the time. Even if not being chased, they’ll walk right past multiple crows which can alert you to a lurker.
    • If you’re lucky enough to get Hawkins while you have Spies equipped, well...... 😈 Let’s just say it gives scratched mirror Myers a run for his money!
    • Its highly versatile in seeking, chasing, mind-gaming, and maintaining an overall higher situational awareness (Like if another is nearby to try a flashlight save, for example.) To this point, I see Whispers as only helping with seeking.

Anyway, that’s it off the top of my head, though there have been a great many situations that it’s been vital for me!

I liked surveillance for the same reasons, I found it to more generally useful to me next to bbq. combined, bbq for points and farsight and surveillance to keep on a gen and know where to throw pop was nice. The combo gave many things to do after a hook with the three perks together. Then I used something like sloppy to try to delay gens with mending, or corruption to slow it a little more.

Not really. Over the past 6 months or so people have begun to see how good Spine Chill is.

Surveillance is pretty much my go to for my killer's for mid game, especially with ruin on my Executioner. I also like Discordance for the start of the game, so i can get the best possible start for executioner and clown.

So usually run something like Surveillance / Ruin / Discordance / Infectious Fright for Pyramid head

For Clown it's Surveillance / Pop / Dying Light or STBTL / Discordance- with Mangled addon

I was going to reply pretty much what you already posted. I like Spies.

I love it. I play GF and Myers a lot. When survivors (including myself) can't hear a TR they run around looking for things to do a lot or they walk past crows without much care. When I'm undetectable as GF it's the perfect surveillance perk to mind game a team into a bad position or getting a clean gen pull.

My go to sweat is Spine, Resilience, Iron Will and DH. Wins me 90% of my chases. Only time I go down is on bad rng pallet spawns or lag spikes.

Discordance, by far. It almost always tells me exactly where to go in the crucial moments in the start of the match, and constantly updates me throughout the match. The amount of times it lets me see people trying to crank out a gen while I'm busy that lets me get some free extra hits, and get a better PGtW are incredible.
