How to turn off v-sync and get 100+ FPS
Getting capped at 30FPS while in Freddy's dream world?
HUGE fps drops when Doctor uses his ability?
Loosing some FPS just for having Plage/Legion ability effect on your screen?
Turn off V-SYNC! I'm not that guy, so this isn't self-promotion, it's just that it feels like everyone should know about this:
Now I get 100+ FPS no matter what's going on my screen, doctor, freddy, legion, plague and I can even see the claudettes in the cornfields. Win-Win fix.

This is like....what people with potato computers do to get "more frames"
You drop the resolution down to 33% <--- This isn't good. This just means you have a trash computer and need to upgrade your graphics card.
If your computer can barely push 20 frames on this game, its likely that your monitor can't even handle an 144hz refresh rate (and if it can, your buying priorities are in the complete ass opposite order).
Get a New GPU....get a new CPU that can handle above 100 frames, and get a monitor that can handle 144hz.
If you're on a 60Hz monitor and pushing 100 frames its literally wasted data....
Ryzen 5 3600's are decent, Nvidia 1660's are at a decent price point as well....just upgrade....that beat up rig....
Also Vsync has nothing to do with poor FPS in games unless you're running an INCREDIBLY OLD card....

Good chance, yea I am not Peanits but if you mess with the files in any way you are at risk of being banned

More frames means less input delay. It'll still be rounded to the tick rate of the server but less input delay is always nice.

Yeah dude, how dare he be worried about getting banned. Unbelievable.

no its not bannable but..
playing past 60 fps makes moonwalking very hard.

8 posts, I already know that either you're a jester or don't know any better. If I'm calling a Dev here is to inform other ppl who'll try this and probably get VAC banned, if you want to do it, just do, and if you get that sweet sweet VAC ban from steam, don't come here crying.
Yeah, and that's exactly why a shouted for peanits (or any dev that will see it) as some ppl will try this and get ######### up in a VAC ban. Ppl should know better.

Any chance any part of this discussion can possibly help frames on console?

No, you guys are locked in through a bunch of different ways. Get a pc is all I can say.

It is not bannable, many people have been tweaking it for years. No need to worry.
I wouldn't call frames over your monitors refresh rate wasted data. By having more frames rendered you get less input lag in average. I find it better to get as many frames as you can get without any heating or stutter issues in your pc. Other than that agreed, V-Sync only really effects input lag.

I'm glad you did as I wouldn't have know this. I had to look up was a VAC ban was. *blushes*
I have trouble with FPS sometimes too and wondered if it was me or a correctable thing. When I first start into a map it's there and if certain killers are approaching I know before I hear a heartbeat as the FPS slows a bit. That last part can be helpful but also can cause me to get spotted right quick too.
Everything I've read so far says the FPS sis capped and I assume it's for a reason?

Don't know man, every tweak in game files can lead to a VAC, same thing with modding the color of perks, a lot of ppl do, but still might be bannable, 'cause it ain't BHRV choice, it's the steam that sees it as moding the files ergo VAC ban.

I am forced to try this since my old laptop overheats a lot

There is a difference between "game files" that you mention and a pure settings file... game files are compiled/compressed and need third party tools to adjust them. Also which makes my argument stronger, is that EAC checks on every game launch if game files are modified and clearly if you would modify your settings file and it would count as game files, it would say to repair your installation... no one was ever banned for modifying game files.. this can happen simply by corruption. People are banned because of 3rd party sorfware hooking into the running game process my dude

Bruh, I get lag just from a skill check popping up

This game is not under valve anti cheat,so you can't get a VAC ban,It use EAC instead of VAC.
You can find the full list of games that support VAC here: https://store.steampowered.com/search/?category2=8
