Why are so many people disconnecting from my games today?
I'm playing on Switch, a lot of survivors today are disconnecting from my games, usually on purpose from what it seems, the first match had 2 disconnects at the start of the match, and the other 2 gave up after that. The second was on Haddonfield, one disconnected randomly, the other 2 disconnected once I had downed them.
If it's any sort of info, I'm playing Doctor with BBQ, Whispers, Pop and STBFL. Any clue as to why people are DC'ing so much today?

Cause no DC penalty right now and a lot of people still hate the Doc rework. As Hag I've had at least one DC per match. Some Survivors think certain killers are unfair or dislike them so much they'd rather DC like children than tough it out and possibly do well or at least get some BP for their troubles.

Well since theres no DC penalties atm and your build kinda strong on a killer that is disliked by many survivors... its not uncommon that people DC.
On the other side it could be bad luck

Frankly this game has hand held survivors for so long it's made a lot of survivor players finally figure out they arnt very good because they never had to be

As already said, no DC penalty so things are back to how terrible it’s been in the past. Solo queue is more difficult now.

“I’m playing doctor” answers your question. A lot of people DC against him as they find him annoying.

People DC because you're playing doc. They won't dc if you don't play Freddy, spirit, nurse, Billy, oni, huntress, deathslinger, doctor, hag, pyramidhead, trapper, wraith, pig, ghostface, demogorgon, and bubba.
If you play this game long enough you would have known this.

consider yourself lucky if it's just today. Ever since they disabled the dc penalty it's been horrible for me. Almost every game now someone will DC. But people will still come on the forum and say there shouldn't be a penalty lol.

Because no DC penalty means that cryhards can just quit whenever they want.

Hackers were able to give people the DC penalty at will.

Then just ban the hackers? Was probably 0.01% of all playerbase

The DC penalty only made me mad when the game would Force Close with no error, close WITH an error or EAC Security violation... which was extremely often until I had to disable my security programs.. which aren't even that great.. but no matter which one i used(i tried 8, all with clean Windows installs too), i'd get game errors.. So not having my security on, in a game that is fairly BROKEN.. Isn't a good idea and I shouldn't be dinged for it.
So i'm glad the DC system is gone and i hope it stays gone. Penalizing people for the games massive flaws is bad for the playerbase. Don't even get me started on their trash matchmaking system where everyone is constantly paired with extreme opposite ranks.

The DC penalty has been disabled because hackers were giving it to random people at will (Tru3 and another streamer received 72 hour long penalties). I'm a PS4 Doctor player, but most of my DCs are when people fail at pulling off their sick "montage-worthy" plays. I've had people try to locker tech me and immediately DC upon getting grabbed.
Other people would step up to replace them. People could see themselves unable to play for weeks. Disabling the penalties means that the devs can work on the problem without fear of it spreading farther than just a couple of streamers. I want to play DbD without having to worry about some salty ######### giving me a 3-day penalty for no reason.

Cus survivor blows. Its just full of people who have no intention of playing normally. They just want to troll other survivors or troll the killer. That or you get put with rank 17s who blow up your gen because they cant hit skillchecks and just spend the rest of the game hiding at the edge of the map.

I'm pretty sure the devs can remove the penalty when it is clear it was not your fault

Ive noticed alot of people disconnecting during match loading screen..when no cakes are brought! Thats all I can come up with for a reason. 🙄

That’ll stop working as more people are affected by it. Do you want the devs to spend every hour they have removing penalties? It’ll also be annoying for the players to deal with. Removing the penalties was the quickest and easiest option.

I really hope the DC penalty is not gone for much longer. The game is practically unplayable now that anyone can and will leave when the match doesn't go their way. I've even stopped bringing items and offerings into matches because it all goes to waste when 1 person DCs.

And its funny because I called this months ago.
I knew it would be removed eventually due to a bug. 100% knew it. Now after months of players being confined of course its going to be worse than ever.
They should have never had it and just gone with the points penalty like other games.
I can guarantee you this wont be the only time its removed.

Hidden offering? Almost all of my games crashed today when the killer brought a hidden offering.

You've got a point, but I don't think a BP or emblem penalty would work in this game. The people DCing don't care about points. They just want easy wins, even at the expense of ruining the game for the other 4 people. I do believe the timeout system was the way to go.
