Pushed into higher ranks with no skill?
i dont know about anyone else in purple/red ranks but im terrible at the game, but im still being pushed into higher ranks? its made the game unfun to play because i get killed instantly because of my lack of skill. its even worse when im put against lower ranks and still get destroyed because im supposedly better because im in purple/red ranks. i cant even derank without purposely throwing the game either.

Is it the first time you reach those ranges? If so it is normal.

yeah. i started playing dbd again recently after a long hiatus and shot up the ranks really quickly. now im stuck in higher ranks even though before my hiatus, i was stuck in rank ten.

I regularly enter red ranks while still being terrible at the game. I'm yet to identify all generator spots for Hawkin's lab, I only know like three pallet placements on Midwich and after a few loops I get riled up and make a ton of mistakes. I kinda feel bad for myself because I feel like I'm giving my teammates and the killer and underwhelming experience. But high ranks are very mixed, I see 'godly' survivors who run the killer for 3-4 generators while the other teammate goes down to a T1 Myers within literally 10 seconds. I wouldn't worry about your skill at high ranks, it really is not consistent.

Run object of obsession and always look at the killer. Usually object users are ignored by high rank killers. Just pretend you're calling him for a chase and get ignored all day.

@Zeus that works? i always wanted to try object of obsession but i just assumed theyd go for me first. ill make sure to give it a try next time :)
@Pandamonium i cant blame you for not knowing where most of the pallets are in midwich. i cant navigate that map for the life of me. cant even find gens. youre right though, its so mixed that there isnt even a point in having ranks, i just feel a little useless when i die near immediately

It depends on the killer. Some ignore OoO and take them out last, I throw the entire match just to tunnel and camp OoO users.

Yes, it's very easy to rank up right now and you can lose pretty heavily without ranking down as long as you did something in the matches. Given a basic understanding of the game, rank is pretty much just an indicator of how much you played this month.
You could take this environment as an opportunity to learn. However, if you want to de-rank without being a massive hinderance to your team, you can make the killer chase you until you die. You should be able to be chased for quite a while without getting a black pip as long as you don't unhook people or complete generators.

Usually good killers leave object users for last because they think you're a good looper and they won't want to fall to your bait.
There's a risk though. If he isn't a good killer then you'll probably get tunneled. But considering that its difficult for you at this level, might as well give it a try.

Out of interest: did you ever try killer? People rank up real fast as survivors, because in a 1v4 game you are not being punished for every single mistake. After all you can be hooked twice before you die.
I can't confirm what it looks like on killer side, but I can imagine, depending on the survs you go against, it'll not be so easy to reach the higher ranks. Also, gameplay really improves while playing the opposite side in my opinion. So you should definetely try at some point, if not done already.
