Ranking system
Honest question, if the ranking system doesnt matter. Why is it in the game? And dont tell me it's to help matchmaking when I'm consistently going against higher ranked killers or survivors. CONSISTENTLY. And I'm tired of hearing your rank doesnt matter when I've seen plenty of first hand, people just getting bullied in lobbies. I'm tired of it. And deranking as a rank 4 with a 2 purple's and a yellow? Great game. Make a better matchmaking system, or maybe make it to where you actually play against your rank? Great game besides 60% of games going this way. Fix the ranking system/matchmaking. PLEASE

Sorry this doesn't really answer the original question since I don't really know how to answer it. The main reason people say that rank doesn't matter is you can get to high ranks just by playing for long enough especially since the rank reset changes.

The rank system does not matter because it is easy to get to red ranges with little experience.

I think it would be better if they remove ranks altogether. If they don’t then BHVR should get ready for the constant and non-stop complaints from a lot of players when the new MM system gets implemented since the new system will match high ranked players with low ranked players a lot of the time.

so shouldn't it matter that the game puts you with much more experienced players than you when you're new? ok...

It should matter but apparently BHVR doesn’t care so might as well just remove ranks lol.
