Lots of sarcasm in response :/ even the decent replies just ignored many of the things I mentioned. I guess it is that hard to be a half-decent human being.

I hate to sound like an insensitive #########, but taking a break is exactly what you should do if you cant ignore it and have issues. I do it all the time.
It's great to just ignore people, because they dont really affect your life and it's a game, but if you cant, or underlying issues are made worse by that, dont put yourself in the position to be affected by it.
Close chat, ignore the salty children, or just dont play. I quit rocket league multiple times for that reason. Even with just quick chat to see if they're taking a face off or not, leads to "what a save" spams and just frustrates/bothers me at some points even though I know it shouldnt. It happens. But if you can recognize that it bothers you, and notice it before it gets worse (which is a good thing, I dont notice until I'm at the "possibly get a ban for talking #########" phase), then absolutely do what's best for you.
But, there will NEVER be a way to completely silence people. Even with no endgame chat, private messages are a thing.

you have the option of closing the chat window down, bottom right hand corner of the screen.

just close the chat window

I’m aware of the close chat option, maybe it’s not supposed to happen but the reason I don’t rely on this & didn’t mention it is because it re-opens after every game.

because it re-opens after every game.
What platform are you playing on? On PC (Steam version) it stays closed for me, might be platform-specific bug.

People can be jerks on the internet always have always will, just ignore them if you can’t then take a break. You got to learn to deal with it, sorry for being harsh but its the truth.

so make it a habit to close that chat window as soon as you get out of the game. problem solved.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think it's important for players to discuss the match, either to talk about specific plays ('you scared me when you jumped out of that locker') or potential bugs/hacks ('was that ghostface teleporting?'). I agree there should be an option to permanently close chat, if there isn't one already.

Press the two arrows within the red circle and the chat will go bye-bye. Won't reopen itself either until you do so yourself.
My personal opinion about the post-game chat is that I'd not mind it removed completely.
