Doppleganger killer?
How cool would it be if bhvr added a doppleganger killer to the game? I mean... A killer who has the ability to shape shift into any survivor in the match. It would be realy cool to play a game where you fear your own team. A bit like that multiplayer version of hello neighbor or how those monsters in the movie "bird box" try to bait you with the voices of your loved ones.
I haven't really thought about how it would work, I just think that it would be nice to have such a "scary" killer.
What do you think?
Edit: english is not my main language. Sorry if I mispelled anything

While it does sound like a good idea on paper, it most likely hasn't been added due to how useless it would be rendered by SWF. In my opinion if this was to ever be added it would probably be Legion's power/what it could have been.

Completely negated by SWFs but the idea is cool.

I agree that it would be hard against SWF, but think about this:
You're playing a game where you don't know who the killer is. You go to a generator, just like all of your teammates. Soon, one of them go there to work with you on the generator. Suddenly you got grabbed. As the game goes on, the killer should always try to get the players while they aren't together with anyone. That way, everytime someone sees a survivor, they will be afraid that it is the killer. This could work if the killer is good enough on baiting the survivors.
It's not flawless, but I really think it could work.

Once again, while it is a good concept, the problem with it lies in balance reasons, it'd be way too strong in solo if you were experienced with the Killer (as you said), but against a Survive With Friends team on comms, after a while the Survivors would eventually realize and tell each other where they are to completely counter the Killer's power. It would only work in the beginning of the match against SWF. Also, Bond could (maybe) tell you if the Survivor was real or not depending on if their Aura was shown or not. The killer only has a chance of winning against solo teams.

Yeah, I agree with you haha. Although I really think it could somehow work, I know that it would be pretty hard to implement and to balance.
But I'm kind of proud of my ideia lol

That might work on the first hit, but that's about it. After that, especially if it's a 4-man SWF, they'll check every Survivor on coms before they allow them to approach. If the teammate who the Killer is copying denies it's them, the Killer can't get close.
MAYBE against smaller teams, it would be more effective, but Trapper is proof that SWF groups are to much for Killers that rely on Survivors not having information.
If BHVR were EVER to do a Killer that can change to a Survivor, it would need to be for stealth, not disguise, and we currently have 4, 5 or 6 (depending on if you can count Spirit and/or Deathslinger) stealth Killers. Otherwise, it would be the weakest Killer in the game from the get-go.

The entire game is rendered useless by SWF. Adding a clone killer wouldn't be any different. Even the "stealthy" killers aren't always stealthed. So a killer that hides amongst survivors would still be aggressive.
If they do add a doppelganger killer I hope it's called The Mimic. Even better if it was licensed like John Carpenters The Thing. We need some more body horror killers.
They could have a trust/madness mechanic that affects all action speeds.
Edit: And if they do end up adding in bots to the game, they could force you to trust AI in certain situations.

Id rather have a killer that can mimic objects like pallets, lockers and generators.

It's been like what, three days since the last topic about a shapelifter killer, guess people want to suffer.

That's actually true. Good SWF's make all killers seem weak.
The mimic is a nice name :) (but I still love the name "the Doppleganger")

SWF pays the bills. If the devs did add a Doppleganger effect to the game it would be for the Survivors as an anti-tunnel mechanic, making all Survivors look exactly like the recently unhooked Survivor to throw off the killer. Killers do not get to have nice things.

"The Faceless" is another name with a bit of mystique to it.
Honestly there's any number of ways to approach it.

LOL, that's right

Would be cool, but the killer would need to stay still, It would have that much pressure
