The whole point of MMR matchmaking is to make it not rank dependent.. looks like you got tunneled out of the game which is an intended (but still scummy) strategy for killers..

I'm pretty sure they were doing regional tests before they announced the system fully, now it's active across all of xbox. I think

Yeah, but he might use any other reason or no reason at all. Still all is valid and devs are saying this is okay. It’s not even griefing if the same killer doesn’t only attack you and no one else in multiple matches.
and most people of the Community are also more than okay with it. (Personally I don’t get why, tunneling shouldn’t be the best possible strategy but it currently is and majority is okay with it..)
