Deathgarden has a Killer and we have Hunters!
I think only people that played Deathgardens closed beta can relate to this but even if you didn't hear me out. (and yes i know its 2 different games but the core is the same)
I played as a Runner(Survivor in DBD) for several hours with 2 friends of mine who also play DBD on a regular basis and we were SCARED of the Hunter, scared, a feeling none of us get in DBD anymore.
When the Hunter is near you, you either panic and hide or run for your life with your heart in your hands and we were not facing professional shooters, just regular people mostly.
And why did we get that feeling? Because the Hunter there can literally destroy you, his presence is intimidating. I think we need that in DBD, this is supposed to be an Horror game and what is Horror without fear? Nothing.
I main survivor and i'm surprised to see people so afraid of the Devs buffing our Killers, aren't you tired of winning 80% of the games and troll around Killers just to make things a little bit more interesting? The only time we play seriously is facing good Rank 1 Nurses/Huntress and thats 1 out of 10 games maybe?
Our Killers need to be more Intimidating! Its what the title says, we don't have Killers we have Hunters, people that chase a looper the full match while others do gens.
This new DLC represents the current state of the game, Killers are clowns and SWF laugh at them.

It's only a matter of time before Deathgarden killers get bullied, soonTM.

Or maybe it's because Deathgarden is a new game with unfamiliar mechanics that you were still trying to figure out. A few weeks later and you'll look at both the Hunters and Killers the same. Once you know how to properly compete, the horror element is going to fade. Just look at F13.

Death Garden is a new game.
Dead by Daylight has been out for 2 years now.
Of ######### course you are going to be intimidated by new mechanics in a new game over an old one.
Give it a few years.

Come on, F13 was never scary that game is a comedy.
The mechanics are familiar, core is the same as DBD but sure your point is debatable but valid.1 -
I've already seen a few vids where some runners were chainstunning the hunter mind-jump when he tried to climb a cliff, it was rather hilarious already.
When they're gonna introduce progress, powers and probably a few nerfs, the game may have a very difference visage.

You're insulting my intelligence here Harty, i know that...
You're missing the point of the post, most of you are, maybe it's my fault since i ranted a lot.
The point is, our Killers need to be buffed in order to be intimidating and the fear factor will flourish.
(except the Nurse, she is scary in the right hands)0 -

They already did, Hunter got nerfed and so did turrets and other small mechanics.
Its a new game and abusing flaws like the stun dart is part of the beta process, so it gets fixed before launch. If you ignore all that and look at the core, you see that the Hunter is intimidating because of its power and i think we need that here.

Both games are very different tho.
Ddb is about memes, and survivors are not supposed to fully cooperate. The fact they do, especially powered by SWF and voicecom, provoed to be an issue.
Deathgarden, however, is a full team game. If you do not cooperate, you just die in a matter of minutes. In essence, both games are very different, which requires a different killer ofc.

I don't agree and i think both games are more similar than you think.
What you said fully describes Friday the 13th for me, memes and people not giving a damn about others.0 -

What you said fully describes Friday the 13th for me, memes and people not giving a damn about others.I simply think the overaltruistic meta deformed the vision of dbd as a solo selfish game, and the dev empathizing the teamplay and the fact that survivor could be able to save people from the hook from a lot more situations, helped a lot in that regard.

The difference between DbD and F13 is that only a handful of F13 players play the meta. Most of the playerbase plays low tier characters and isn't so great at the game, whereas DbD is full of people who take the game seriously to the point where they play Claudette for a camouflage advantage instead of playing their favourite character. So while Jason is actually just as weak as a Wraith, this doesn't become evident in 99% of matches.

not after the ridiculous mega nerf hammer they hit the hunter with in deathgarden now he's as much of a joke as the killers in this game.

Just in DBD's defence, Myers still gives me that nervous, heart in throat horror every time. He still scares me even after this amount of time

The Hunter in Deathgarden is sure to be nerfed.

It was a scary experience because of how strong and intimidating the Hunter was.
Its not about horror movies, jump scares or enviroment.0
