Oh no why new Clown Skin legendary/linked?
I really reaaaallly dislike how devs are pushing linked cosmetics more and more. I thought it was just a thing for silent hill and to avoid licence issues. But why Nea? Why now clown aswell?
Like, i get why nea's hoodie needs to be linked to the head piece. But the headpiece itself shouldnt. And the pants neither.
Now clown. Like, at least delink his weapon. There is no excuse to link his weapon to the entire rest.

They're testing the waters. Seeing how willing people are to buying these skins. If people buy them, they'll add more overpriced legendary skins.

It's not a legendary outfit though? It's just a linked cosmetic set, legendary skins change the whole character, like Lisa and the upcoming Minotaur skin for Oni.

Okay I don't care if they're overpriced or not if it looks good im buying it. I'm voting with my wallet that if you make good skins I will buy then.

The clown skin is Very Rare (purple) but linked. I feel like people keep confusing linked with legendary.
Legendary is represented by a white color. Which so far only Lisa and the upcoming oni minotaur skin are.

Of the 9 upcoming skins. Only Clown, Jane, and Oni are linked.

Clown is a full outfit?... that's a shame. I was planning to use his body costume with a different mask/face.
This just like I wanted the Legion's Robbie the Rabbit but just the head on Frank's P3 body or Joey's Devil May Care body. This is disappointing 🤦♂️

Maybe combining the new clown outfit with others would expose a seam at his neck and that's why they decided to make it linked instead of trying to fix it. I still wish it were possible to match it with other pieces though.

Was planning on buying it until I saw that it was linked. I don't understand why very rare skins can even be linked. All this does is lower customization options which is a shame since I really like the mask and would have liked to run it with the red ringmaster suit,

I'm really confused why it's made to be a set and I really don't understand why the weapon has to be part of it. At this point it's just looking like they want more money from their cosmetics by forcing you to go all in on 3 pieces instead of the 1 or 2 you actually want.

just vote with your wallet. They wouldnt dare make anymore of this garbage if it doesnt make them the money theyre projecting. They need to focus on their game more instead of this optional Bulls+++. Let them know by not buying it

Weapons being part of a set is so stupid. Same with the Robbie Rabbit Legions skins. Like I don't even LIKE those skins, but the weapon being attached to the set is so stupid.
Though I think part of the reason for that may be more $$$. If it were unattached in the case of the Legion skins (I'm pretty sure it was the same weapon for all 4 "versions" of the skin, which is another discussion entirely) that'd mean the other three "sets" would cost less overall. Or maybe it has to do with clipping issues? But I kind of doubt that because why/how would the weapon clip?
The actual outfits and head I can...kind of understand. In some circumstances, as much as it sucks. Like with the Nea one, that's because the pants on that cosmetic were higher waisted than the norm it'd cause major clipping with other cosmetics, dunno why the head couldn't be detached (we already have neck seam issues with pre-existing cosmetics) besides the apparently MASSIVE bald spot on the back (lol, which I'm guessing is so the hair didn't clip with the hood).

So you commit to the look/fantasy for that character. R6 does the same thing with their elite skins. I kind of like the set the set skins.
It would be nice if they could give us avi cards when wearing those skins like in R6

Sure, I get that. But why linking all 3 parts then? His weapon could be unlinked and they could just link what is REALLY needed like body and head

someone who is only interested into ONE piece is not going to be motivated to pay more $$$ to a whole outfit which is alos linked. I think they are losing more money with this strat

Who cares about people mixing and matching what they want? Thats the fun of cosmetics, WoW added transmog for this very reason.
If people want to commit to some weird fantasy and look like an immersed claudette, that's fine. It should also be fine for me to wear what I want and not be forced to wear the entire Nea cosmetic even after the Store bug proved it looks fine separated.

I don't get why this has to be a thing sometimes, (like Cheryl's normal sets) we all have seen by now the shirtless david with pants that makes his pelvis disappear into nothingness and all.
They could unlink them at some point and possibly fix the aesthetic issues it brings with other parts, but as far as I can tell, another user's image doesnt really show an issue with being unlinked so, it's kinda silly.

Oh no I'm not saying it's working, I'm just saying that might've been their motivation. Like if anything it's losing them money, cuz like, for example I love the long blonde hair on one of the sets for Cheryl (not the Lisa Legendary), but the whole set is kinda meh to me. So I haven't bought it, if they sold the pieces separately I'd prob buy one or two, so instead of getting about 7 bucks from me they're getting nothing. Most people only buy parts of sets, I think the idea might've been for the people who might buy one or two pieces from a set but not the whole set. They'd probably not be too fussed over dropping an extra couple bucks if they like most of the cosmetic, but it really backfires when people only want one part.

yeah exactly. I honestly think they are missing a lot of money. I think only big whales and heavy invested players are just buying anything they throw out. But "normal" people will just not spend anything then.

I’m assuming it has to do with the clipping issues with his face paint and bare skin, there would just be a singular line of white paint that would look odd. I wish they did unlink the weapon though, would have loved to have the Withering Blight knife on it.

When they add more complicated and protruding pieces to the cosmetics they need to consider what it will be mixed and matched with so there will be no clipping. When they make a cosmetic set linked they do not need to worry about other sets and clipping when they can form the whole outfit to work perfectly with itself rather than with other cosmetics.
