Wait, why were the engravings nerfed?

Doom and death engravings for hillbilly gave him extra speed at the cost of charge time. And now even with this system the longer you charge the more you're vulnerable to overheating.

Stack them and you have a pro flickbilly in the 1% doing some plays you'd never see before with absolutely precise timing.

Now they were nerfed for some reason? 20% to 7% and 15% to 3%. Why? And obviously the charge time part remained untouched.

    The goal from listening to several devs streaming was to encourage more variety in addon picks (could be wrong about what exactly, but it could be one of several reasons), and there certainly is variety but billy is already fast.

    Charge and engraving rip now. This new adorns like Nurse meme level. Stealth maybe fun for first time but in the end we have Billy with trash addons

    I can't wait to see all the Billy players running Mother's Helpers...definitely just as good as the engravings were...

    Like, I can see their argument. But not with the addons that were given alongside it.

    Addons were updated last night and mother’s helper was one of them, are you referring to the ptb version or the live version right now?

    But... Mother's helpers are OP. If 1 survivor is shining a light at your chest, you can move slightly faster, even though the only time they do that is when they know they're dead.

    Addons were updated last night in a small update, some people astound me with how dumb they are.


    if you want everything : 


    Changes for Billy Add-ons from their PTB version: 

    **__Brown__**

    __Heavy Clutch__ : Removed the "Moderately decreases Chainsaw Sprint steering." effect. It only has the upside of "Decreases the Collision Zone during a Chainsaw Sprint."

    **__Yellow__** 

    __Speed Limiter__ : Increase the point bonus from 50% to 100%

    **__Green__**

    __Mother's Helpers__ : Removed the useless effect. Now "Slightly decreases Chainsaw charge time for 30s after being stunned". Might be useful idk

    __Black Grease__ : Old effect : "Increases Flashlight Blindness resistance by reducing their Blinding speed for 10 seconds after being stunned by a Pallet"

                  New effect : "Moderately increases the Chainsaw's rate of cooling when a flashlight is shining on you". Still bad

    **__Red__**

    __Lopro Chains__ : Only loses its instadown effect if a pallet was broken within the last 10 seconds. Breaking a pallet still doesn't interrupts your sprinting

    __Iridescent Brick__ : Time lowered from 5 to 2 seconds

    I won't really go into how several killers were better than him but he still got the nerf, but lets stick to the engravings. Below is a video of it.


    Every single video here was a 1v1, there was interaction between billy and the survivor. The survivor messes up and gets too close, and hes punished for it, If he keeps his distance Billy will just waste his time revving. There isn't a time when a survivor got downed and said "Ok this was bullcrap it was unfair"

    but billy is already fast.

    Then why were these addons put in the game in the first place? The veteran devs knew they would change up the playstyle as shown above, new devs just gave a big f‎uck you and instead of even trying to vary them, they just nerfed them into the ground.

    I genuinely didn't know the hotfix changed anything other than an attempt at fixing the stuttering some players were having...

    Looking at it, it's still extremely niche, and it's map dependent. If you pick that as your add on and go to Pale Rose, you've wasted the add on with how few pallets that map generally has. I've seen some versions of Dead Dawg spawn with extremely few pallets, and on a map like Hawkins where most pallets are unsafe you really shouldn't be getting stunned by them anyway. Comparative to anything more generally useful, I don't think we'll be seeing them much.

    My sarcasm was directed at the PTB version though, you're correct there.

    my comment was unnecessary as I didn’t necessarily intended to aim it just for you but a lot of people on this forums complain without having all the info so I apologize for that.

    It's probably because there wasn't too much you could do against a really good engravings curve billy alot of the time. You would have to play against one to see what I mean.

    Basically he came around a corner charging the saw, you had to dodge out of the way but in doing so you were separated from the loop and then got M1'd or were now far out enough of position to be unable to dodge the follow up chainsaw; especially if it was doom engravings + thompson mix.

    That + the map nerfs spacing out the tiles and making the maps much more unsafe made him pretty oppressive to play against. You would need a really good pick up group who were used to playing against billy (which these days, even at rank 1, the majority of players are newish and don't have much experience playing against him since he has been rare in the past few years) to have a chance.

    Although the funny thing is, there are still things like top knot + akito's crutch Oni left in the game that are honestly way worse to go against.

    Awesome example of streamers having fun against billy who would if they weren't streaming totally not be pissed about wonky as ######### hits. And I bet the 99% of the playerbase who isn't playing this game for a living is having a ton of fun getting instadowned left and right by billy to the point where you'll basically just go for hooksave points and try to find the hatch.


    Oh wait all that ######### is still possible and he still overperforms and is part of the top3 with second highest snowball potential just close to a god-nurse which is by far harder to play by the way.

    Yes. I noticed it. Each engraving has the charge time increased approximately from 12% to 19 - 20%. For exemplo, when I use Tunned Carburator (charge time -18% or moderatly) with one engraving (should be + 12% or slightly), the charge time bar is red (not yellow). Please fix it soon.

    i think its fair they shouldve been nerfed not the amount they were, basically keep all of his original addons except

    delete primer bulb as it already has been

    make carbuerator do the effect of primer bulb with no downside

    make doom engravings 15% no downside

    remove death engravings

    bang, billy is now balanced.

    but now.....................

    Coming from a guy who thought Billy's basekit was overpowered somehow, I don't think you're that much of an authority on balance.
