This challenge is utterly disgusting
Forcing us to rely on teammates to do a goddamn challenge for us is absolutely ridiculous.
Just had a match where in the pregame I said what challenge I was doing, asked them to leave me on hook if I'm hooked in the end game. What do I get? 3 ######### crouch in a circle around the shack while I'm camped in the basement until I die then leave, and write in the post-game "lol like we care what you say."
This is categorically not a challenge that you can possibly obtain by your own merit, it is entirely based on other peoples decisions and it SUCKS.

This reminds me of the good old "sacrifice all survivors in the basement" challenge where survivors dc'ed all the time to deny the killer the challenge. (dc penalties weren't activated then.)
Also one more example to add to the endless list of "Why this community has the reputation it has".

Also just had the ######### great realisation that despite the terrible wording, it means you must survive as well, not just "be in the trial while they escape."
That makes this utter BS even worse.
Legit is the expectation that we just sit in a locker once 5 gens are done until everyone else decides they're good and ready to leave?

Glad to see they haven't stepped anything up in terms of creativity. Highlight challenges from level 1 and 2, copy, paste, increase numbers.

You just have to do this challenge last, set it and wait for a game where it’s an easy 4 man escape. Wait in the exit gates until all other survivors have left and then leave, hoping that they don’t also have the same challenge.
These RNG challenges suck but at least it isn’t another “creep around the killer for 5 minutes” challenge that forces you to throw the game.

WOW.... i'm a killer main so I don't really pay attention to the survivor challenges often, but even I know that this challenge is so RNG based that it is utter crap.

I think most people are misunderstanding, this isn't just in one trial, it's multiple trials, you could get it in one game, you could get it in multiple, this is so far from being a disgusting challenge, imagine just being in the exit gate and someone leaves before you, easy point towards the challenge, lol.

I really dislike these challenges where you have to rely on your teammates to get it, but at least this one isn't impossible to do in solo queue, but I will just do it with my SWF group since it's more reliable that way.

Ooh, I had no idea. I feel like this challenge could definitely be worded better, because my first impression was that I would need to do this in one trial. Yeah, that makes it a lot better.

Again, you're still relying on dickhead teammates to walk out of the gate before you. You know those teammates? The ones who want to break their ctrl key mashing it as many times as possible? Yeah those ones that you get every single game.

From what I understood you don't need a 4 man escape to do this challenge..you should be able to gain 1 point towards it each time a survivor leaves the trial before you die/escape, so you could do it even in 3 different trials I believe?
Am I getting this wrong?

One of the main issues with this type of challenge is that if survivors want BP/Rank/ Save a teammates the game actively encourages survivors to stay in the game for as long as possible.
The other issue with this challenge is that everyone who has this challenge will not actively leave turning it into a chicken game between survivors.

I mean it's not a master challenge, so it can be done in multiple games ^^ If it as doing it in a single trial then yeah it would be hard.

You're getting part of it wrong when you say "each time a survivor leaves the trial before you die/escape", because you yourself also have to escape in order to get credit.

So if all 4 survivors are going for this challenge at once it basically turns into a game of chicken against the EGC.
Explains why so many people were waiting in exit gates yesterday refusing to leave. Just what killers enjoyed the most about the game.

That tome is just a long winded way of saying "get hatch."
Can get hatch while 3 others escape probably once a day, I havent gotten to that one, but just run a end game hatch build? and grind until you get it.

No, you do not. My second attempt I took the killer away from the gates and went on my second hook as all 3 left, still 0/3. You do have to escape as well.

You don't have to do it in one game. Any time someone escapes while you are alive you get +1 progress. Doesn't matter how. Doesn't matter if you then die.
If you are on the hook and everyone else escapes because the killer has NOED for example you would get progress for every survivor that escapes.

I'm telling you, I just watched 3 people walk out of gates while I was struggling on the hook, and was then greeted with 0/3. I can tell you for a fact that you do not get points if you don't survive despite the ambiguous wording of the challenge.

I got +2 progress yesterday even though I died, if you didn't get progress there might be a bug if you get all the progress in one game.

The description does not say that you need to escape either. The way the challenge is written it does not matter if you escape or not. It would say something like "... and then escape.". Consider making a bug report here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs

Yeah I thought that challenge was stupid when I first read it but apparently it’s not about getting out when all 3 others already escaped. The way it actually is now is way more doable and not really that bad.
Promotes the waiting at exit gates when all survs are already save though. So more gate teabagging but now with a reason

I have three more challanges left and will leave this one to last. Then it's all about playing games until I am the last one left, just have to hope the others is good enough or don't DC or hook suicide I mean that never happens..

No you’re right, I misunderstood the challenge. The scenario I gave would get it in one go (I think?) but you could do it over multiple trials it seems. You just need to have someone escape, then you escape and you get a point towards it.

My question is, how does this fit the lore? The challenges of the archives generally are either "do the thing you already do," or "do something that represents the highlighted characters." There was one like this in the last tome, but it fit Dwight. This really doesn't feel like it fits either Meg or Ace.

I was about to say I'd prefer the "in a single trial" variant because then you'd only have to do it once, but then a question occurred to me.
For clarity's sake, do you get credit towards the challenge as long as even a single survivor escapes before you, or do you need to play three games where everyone makes it out.
I'd initially read it as the latter, but now I realize that may not be so. If, in game 1, a single Survivor makes it out before you do, do you still get credit for 1 escape? Or if two people leave, you leave, and the last person gets out, does that count for two points towards the challenge or zero, because only two people left before you.
If you don't need all three other survivors to get out before you, then that makes the challenge much more manageable, if also requiring more games to complete.
Edit: looking at the replies before mine, it looks like you get credit so long as you're alive when someone else gets out.

You need 3 progress.
You get +1 progress when another survivor escapes while you are alive.
You do not lose progress if you die. You can get it one game if all three other survivors escape while you are alive. You can do it over the course of multiple games. You can get +1 progress in one game and then +2 progress in another game. Or you can get +1 in three separate games.

You do realize that this isn't a single Match Challenge?
One Survivor could escape and you as well and you'll have 1/3.
In the next Match 2 Survivors escape and you leave after they left and now you have 3/3.
I don't see a major Problem with it.
If they make this variant as a Single Match Challenge, yes it would be hard. But what was the Point of a Challenge again?

What's the problem? You don't have to have 3 leave ahead of you in a single game. If 1 leaves ahead of you for 3 games the challenge is done. It's an easy challenge, guys...
